@Simbor Nabor Murderers? in almost all religious text, including the bible, the killing and eating of animals is totally ok as it has been our source of food for AGES. Hunting and killing totally ok as long as the animal is killed with a clean shot, The animal is cleaned, and eaten. It is also ok if the ecosystem of the animal and the area is in good shape. For example, shooting a rare animal is looked down upon, but shooting deer in thriving communities is totally fine as it provides balance. Energy is transfered, one ecosystem to another and balanced.
@Simbor Nabor When we accept and come to jesus, jesus looks past all our inequities and accepts us with open arms. God bless you. Just fixin' some information you got wrong there.

Amazing shot taken by that animal! Did not see an exit with that behemoth bullet and it still ran a bit. Liked the appreciation of all the other animals during the hunt.
People talking about hollow points and energy transfer. Kind of yes...but keep in mind that the bullet stayed inside the animal...the energy of the round was transferred completely. The animal absorbing it like that is insanely impressive to say the least.
Been shooting alota years never seen anything take that energy and move from the spot till now still cant believe it never enough gun after that shot far as im concern.
Honestly I enjoyed hearing the hunters love and admiration for the animals more than the shot... it really set the mood. The shot was also impressive but so much respect given by the hunters to their prey... just awesome all around
@Liccarus "too much gun" is definitely better than too little gun, if it was too little gun the animal could've wandered around in pain for a good bit longer and prolonged its suffering
For those wondering why the Nilgai didn't drop, here is my understanding of the terminal ballistics... the two common ways a gunshot kills are decreased oxygen supply to the brain or destruction of the nervous system. If you hit an animal in the upper spine or the head with an appropriate cartridge/range for the species, it will die immediately. I'm not entirely sure where the line is drawn but if you either hit with a weaker projectile (broadhead of an arrow) or you hit further back along the spine it may cause local paralysis for the animal. If you hit the animal in the lungs or the heart, the blood supply to the brain will either stop or will no longer contain oxygen, causing loss of consciousness and death (what happened here). If you miss the lungs/heart but pierce the chest cavity, tension pneumothorax will occur (Google it). The time this takes to kill an animal varies based on the species, what organ(s) were hit, and what the animals adrenaline is like at the time of impact. Bullet energy matters for when you hit the spine or the shoulder. A high energy impact to the shoulder can both cripple an animal and mortally wound it. A bullet with lower energy could potentially only cripple the animal. What matters for heart/lung shots is penetration and diameter. How much tissue does the bullet penetrate through and what is the diameter when it does. This all only describes very conventional terminal ballistics. If we look at something like 22-250 (or 5.56 for that matter), a very light bullet travelling at un-Godly speeds can fragment and yaw upon impact, causing more damage than would be expected.

Very hart animal, how absorbed a .50 BMG. The question is, what type of bullet was used (full metal jacked) ? I think, a less harder bullet would have had a better effect.
Also called Nilgai in India. I saw one fully grownup Nilgai/antelope t-boned by an mahindra bolero SUV @ 90-100 km/h. Nilgai was thrown to several metres and still it rise up on four legs without any issues and ran away like nothing happened. Tough animal.
nilgai, (Boselaphus tragocamelus), also called bluebuck, the largest Asian antelope (family Bovidae). The nilgai is indigenous to the Indian subcontinent, and Hindus accord it the same sacred status as cattle (both belong to the subfamily Bovinae).
As if an antelope doesnt have enough dangers to deal with in life, they also have to worry about bored idiots shooting them with high powered rifles just for shits and giggles.
50 BMG is a fast but heavy bullet. Unlike light bullets, which begin to tumble in tissues immediately after impact, 50 BMG is quite stable. The bullet simply cannot transfer all of its monstrous energy to the target. I think that's why the antelope didn't fall right away. A headshot would have been more effective and would have caused the animal less suffering.
A headshot is a much riskier shot, there id always the potential for movement in the animal to throw off your shot just enough you blow its lower jaw off.
My minuscule .308 has had more impressive "HIT LIKE A TRUCK" results! I was expecting a shock and awe moment! I'm wondering if that 750 grain beast of a round was designed to expand and deliver its energy rather than penetrate heavy armor.
You simply don't understand how FMJ's work when they have that much power behind them. They do not expand when passing through flesh... It cut a path through and out of that animal like a hot knife through butter... The animal took some time to realize the damage done. Like a chicken running around after having it's head removed... It's Science.
After seeing that bull run after getting hit with a 50 BMG it's got me to rethinking the capabilities of what I have. I'm starting to feel inadequate. However great video!
I guess I don't get it. Is the goal to see how big of a gun you can't hunt with? An unsuspecting critter at moderate range...what happened here that wouldn't have happened with an 8 pound .30/'06, other than lighting a $10 bill on fire when you pulled the trigger?
He used a Hornady match bullet which is absolutely not designed for hunting and cost about $8 each. It likely went right through the animal. I think it's fucked up how they're praising the beauty of the animal after just experimenting with a BS setup that caused the animal a fuk ton of pain for a good minute or more before succumbing to that shot. A regular gun with good hunting ammo would have ethically dropped the animal on the spot without torturing it...
Beautiful animal and a clean kill. Couldn't imagine a much better shot; amazing that animal absorbed that much force and kept ticking for so long. Strong creature. Hope it made some great venison and left plenty of calves behind, those are some strong genes.
I saw some YT footage where a soldier sniper shot a mountain goat at great distance with 50 BMG and the goat's body exploded. I guess this hunter was using ball ammo and the bullet just went right through.
At first I thought it was a bit overkill to use a .50 on an animal, and then I saw it shrug off a bullet and run for some time. Imagine it would've survived and possibly escaped a lower caliber.
What a cool antilope. When I first saw the cows I thought they must surely belong to the same family as the Eland and Kudu, turns out they are a genus of their own. How the meat?
Looks like it's time to experiment with a drill press and some .50 rounds. If there was a hollow point in there that antelope would have turned into a helicopter 😬
If you’re paying for a hunt, most outfitters require 30 caliber and up or a minimum of 30-06 for Nilgai. .300 WM was always a popular one on the ranch.
Not even close. Most guides won’t even let you hunt them with less than a 300 win mag because of how tough they are. A 308 is great for deer and hogs, but not these guys.

This goes to show, shot placement over caliber. Even with a 50 BMG this thing ran around for a minute before going down. Seen a lung shot with a 5.56 have similar results.

Just fixin' some information you got wrong there.
you certainly are a hero no doubt about it a regular tough guy!
Great hunt considering your sitting inside your cottage with your warm cup of coffee on the table right next to you.....
Just like when people say they're going "camping", but in reality they Airbnbd a cabin with internet access and electricity by a lake. I guess if that makes you feel like you finally got out of the house, who am I to judge?
They "admire" it so much they end its life, taking it from its mate and young with no need for the meat, only a trophy. How admirable.
Man I hate people. Burn bytch burn
If they admired their animal they wouldn't be using a .50 BMG on it for clickbait views. Too much gun is just as unethical as too little gun.
@Liccarus "too much gun" is definitely better than too little gun, if it was too little gun the animal could've wandered around in pain for a good bit longer and prolonged its suffering
It is strange the idea that they have respect for an animal, taking from it what is most precious, which is its own life.
4:43 onwards was so beautiful to see - nature was created and if you watch this, you must believe there is a god.

@@joshnavarro6462 their common anywhere hot
Neelgai

What is the thought process in choosing a 50BMG to hunt an animal that could have easily been taken with a .30-06?

Why the heck not a 50 BMG ?

Love the BMG , is that animal good eating? It was beautiful and i couldn’t kill one unless it was to feed me or give to the missions,. Kinda sad and cool at the same time
Very hart animal, how absorbed a .50 BMG.
The question is, what type of bullet was used (full metal jacked) ?
I think, a less harder bullet would have had a better effect.
Look like it had a steel penetrator
Was a 750gr AMAX round, aluminum tipped.
We have shot a ton of huge hogs with the 50bmg and not a single one has taken a step …. Nilgai must be some tough SOBs 😲😲
i hit mine in the heart with a 308 and it ran 30 yards and bedded down and bled out
hitting in the shoulder is why it was able to run off a bit
Wrong placement.
Usually we shoot deer with the Leopard tank here in Germany!
I was expecting it to actually be kinda blown apart since it's a huge ass round but that was surprisingly anticlimactic.
It’s a bullet not a bomb lol

The bullets stayed inside the animal, all energy was transferred
How does it matter if the bullet didn't even pass through?
Shuddup Yuri . You don't know what the hell your talking about
@@jordantaylor7709 if all energy was transfered why didnt it stayed inside?
I should take my Cadex tremor 50 bmg hunting too!!😍😍👍🏻👍🏻💪🏻💪🏻👊🏻👊🏻
I can't believe the animals are still able to even move after taking a round like this
My minuscule .308 has had more impressive "HIT LIKE A TRUCK" results!
These were some great wilderness shots / footage. Man that beast took that .50 BMG like a champ… but, down he went still.
Ahhhh...... oook...😂 wasnt what i was expecting.. Maybe next time a 300 Win Mag..😂😂
After seeing that bull run after getting hit with a 50 BMG it's got me to rethinking the capabilities of what I have. I'm starting to feel inadequate. However great video!
Its okay, not everyone can get shot and walk it off. Some of us are just built different.
Yeah. I’ve done a liver shot with my .308 and whitetail dropped right there.
Same with 12 ga sabot.
That beast took that 50 BMG like a champ. He managed to run after that hit wow.
I guess I don't get it. Is the goal to see how big of a gun you can't hunt with? An unsuspecting critter at moderate range...what happened here that wouldn't have happened with an 8 pound .30/'06, other than lighting a $10 bill on fire when you pulled the trigger?
I'm thinking the same thing... Civilians SMFH
More like $100.00
Because he can. If you didn't like the video go watch something else snowflake.
@@2S1L3NTI agree it’s one of the weirdest “hunting channels” I’ve seen
I gotta say I wouldn’t have never thought that thing would make it even that far after being hammered with that round.
I'm surprised that the Antelope didn't have a pass through with that much lead hitting it.
That's what I'm amazed at. Must have been a long shot? Soft lead? Special light weight bullet?
Beautiful animal and a clean kill. Couldn't imagine a much better shot; amazing that animal absorbed that much force and kept ticking for so long. Strong creature. Hope it made some great venison and left plenty of calves behind, those are some strong genes.
So painful
That was a horrible shot lol
I saw some YT footage where a soldier sniper shot a mountain goat at great distance with 50 BMG and the goat's body exploded. I guess this hunter was using ball ammo and the bullet just went right through.
You call that a clean kill, better shot. Should have hit that animal so the spine was blown out resulting in an instant on-the-spot DirtNap.
This is the equivilent of bringing a hypercar to a gokart race
At first I thought it was a bit overkill to use a .50 on an animal, and then I saw it shrug off a bullet and run for some time. Imagine it would've survived and possibly escaped a lower caliber.

Nice job with the hunt. Amazing guide, we hunted with him before
Looks like it's time to experiment with a drill press and some .50 rounds. If there was a hollow point in there that antelope would have turned into a helicopter 😬
The bullet stayed in? Didn't see exit wound.
Low recoil 50bmg lol
Nah it just left a pin hole because the bullet didn't expand.
So for those of us who don.t have a 50 in the box, what caliber would you suggest for Nilgai?
They are rather small, you don't need anything near a 50bmg for them. Any round for big game should do fine with the right bullet.
A 30-06 would work just fine.
30-06 Winchester
30-06, 308, 270, 7Mag, 6.5Cm, 25-06, the choices go on and on.
If you’re paying for a hunt, most outfitters require 30 caliber and up or a minimum of 30-06 for Nilgai. .300 WM was always a popular one on the ranch.
At 6:24, the other antelope looked at him like "You ok bro? Guess not. I'm outta here!"
A 308Win would have put him down just as fast...but if you have a hammer, everything looks like a nail!
Nope
Not even close. Most guides won’t even let you hunt them with less than a 300 win mag because of how tough they are. A 308 is great for deer and hogs, but not these guys.
@@txlonghornremodeling Nonsense, with the proper bullet you can easily hit the heart and lungs on them. That is just a bs recommendation to cover coming into contact with dangerous game.
