  • Samsung A40 how to diagnose not charging problem.
You can diagnose in the same way Samsung A70 and Samsung A20.
First you have to check the Charging dock board, next is the Main flex cable and at the end is the FPC connector on the mother board. To fix it you need a good soldering iron an a little experience.
Samsung A40 charging problem is from:
    1. Charging dock (Type-C charging port or FPC connector) - 40% chance
    2. Main flex cable - 15% chance
    3. Motherboard FPC connector - 40% chance
    Video guide:
00:00 Samsung Galaxy A40 Charging Problem
00:30 +5V line from the charging port (charging dock) through the Main flex cable to the FPC connector on the Motherboard.
01:05 Back cover/ Battery cover removal - Warm up the device to soften the adhesive and use only plastic tools, suction cup and a little isopropyl alcohol.
01:31 Middle frame removal - remove all silver Phillips screws, eject the SIM tray and with a plastic tool start separation near to the SIM tray hole.
01:40 Disconnect the Fingerprint sensor (first remove the cap covers the FP connector)
    01:45 Remove the SIM Tray
01:48 Remove the meddle frame. Use only plastic tools.
    01:57 Disconnect the battery
02:02 Remove the main flex cable.
02:05 Connect the charger. Check the charging line on the daughter board FPC connector.
02:17 If the readings are okay +5V connect the main flex to continue with the diagnose.
02:22 Check the charging line at the other end of the cable.
02:32 If you have +5V take attention on the FPC connector of the mother board.
02:48 Re-solder the first pin on the FPC connector.

    You are the best!
I already replaced my original charging board with what seem to be cheap knockoffs wich caused even more trouble. I just realized the original one actually still works fine!

Thanks for the video. My girlfriend just dropped the phone and in the evening it's not charging. After watching how to disassemble the phone found your video. Checked charging board and cabel - both are fine. Tomorrow will give it to my friend who knows how will re-solder the connector

How do you know it's the FPC connector at the Main ? What if I test electric continuity with a tester ?

easier fix: if the phone is plugged in, and you press in the right place, the phone will charge

Hey, I would have a question. I am solving the charging problem with this phone. Nothing of this helps. The phone starts working and charging ONLY after I disconnect and reconnect the battery back. Any ideas? As far as I know, it is definitely not a cable or connector. Looks like some kind of other problem.

Have you tried changing the battery?

    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@derschubsi No, I do not want to invest randomly into parts. Once the battery is connected the phone is working fine.

@ Cheap Samsungs have this kind of problems. If simple fix don't work just throw it away and buy new one
