Brother thank you ...another forth gen just got a glass roof and my slider was popped out since I bought it works great now ....might try shimming the whole assembly to get it to sit further down awesome vid been there forever without it thanks again
The covers for the inside portion of the rails are there. If you're referring to the sunroof shade, that requires alot of modification to the sunroof assembly and the headliner. It has been done but is very tedious. I've only seen very few done actually clean while others look pretty bad. All to one's desire to do. Thanks for the comment and support. 👊🏽
So 5th gen and 4th gen covers are the same no leaks? I have a 5th gen that i want to delete the sunroof for lightweight but i can only find a 4th gen plug.
Thanks for this video. @10:14 How did you get your dash cluster lights so bright? Is that factory on your year? I have a '92 which I installed the tiny blue LEDs in the back of the cluster and they're still not nearly as bright as yours.
Since you have a 92, I'm assuming you are referring to the speedometer/tachometer cluster. The face-lift versions of the 4th gen Prelude came with the EL cluster. Found in 94-96 4th gens with at least the Si and Vtec trims. It glows bright and the needles also glow bright red. They are lit up by having these light tunes behind the new gauge plate. You can always upgrade your 92 analog gauges to an EL cluster. Just source the cluster with the silver inverter box and the full dash harness for your manual or automatic Prelude.
It has been a very useful work, man. The only issue I don't understand is why did Honda use the metal sunroof only in the 4th gen among all generation preludes? I definitely have to do this work.
Sorry for the late reply, you can manually crank it open. In the middle of the rear black plastic headliner, there's a circle piece that pops off. Use an Allen wrench to manually crank the sunroof open.

Stock metal rusts at the seals and will eventually leak. Looks terrible and a real pain to then remove. The glass is a great replacement, looks great and does not leak.

Glad you were able to use the video to get the conversion done. I recorded the part with the metal tabs to cut but it was missing in this video. I have a prep video with that part in there that is in the links below and at the end of this video. Im sure you love how it came out on your lude!

So i recently got the 5th gen sunroof assembly, but its there a way to keep slide to let light in when ever i want ?
Requires alot more customization to the 5th gen sunroof assembly and the 4th gen headliner.
Question , my sunroof doesn't open so how am I going to be able to open it and take out those screws and get the liner off?

You can use the shims that are with the OEM sunroof
My 95’ prelude si just turns over and over. No start. Spark plugs show spark. Have gas. Checking timing and it was good… help!

Is it complicated to remove the glass from the assembly for the fifth gen?
Yes not at all hard. Just the glass and not removing the whole assembly that is.
Why not use use W40 to loosen the rusted nuts? It's way easier. But your video is very good and informative.
PB blaster/WD40 always a must but at times the nuts are so rusted and brittle that they just round out when trying to remove.

Tried it out myself! The 5th gen brackets make the sunroof sit up at a strange angle in the 4th gen, so the old brackets are definitely the move here!
