Hate to be that guy but your lifters are knocking due to incorrect pushrod adjustment. Mine are the same way, if I don’t adjust them right they will knock like that everytime. Even one “flat” (6 flats per rotation) can make the difference. Just make sure to have them at zero lash is the biggest thing & adjust them 24 flats (4 rotations)
I work on diesel and it’s always best to do the valve lash adjustments while the engine is hot, or at least while the metal is expanded. If it’s an overhaul you do the best you can cuz that engine was down and that initial adjustment was done with everything sitting there there may be room to adjust. Is it the same with bikes? And also if you need to go back and do the adjustment again is it doable after you warmed that baby up? Just asking to learn cuz in diesel you get it right the first time as best you can. Otherwise you’re gonna have a lot to disassemble if there is any kind of knock or misfire.
I agree with Ryan Tidwell, when you fist had the motor running it didn’t have that lifters knocking sound but after your ride it’s so apparent, need to have them adjusted or looked at before any damage is done. Man it never fails you fix something then something else come out to say look at me. Sorry bro, I feel the pain.
Glad to see that your Low Rider S is back on the road. It sounds like she is running like a beast! Can't wait to see more on your channel! Well done sir...
My 2019 Street Glide makes the exact same loud tick after my 475 cam install...... it didn't tick like that before the install. Mine is now back at the dealership. Been told one of the lifters had low oil. See what happens when I get it back, but I don't think that tick is normal dude? Not that loud?
I went with Cycle Rama 482. Huge top end hp gain (about 30 hp) but does’nt have the idle sound of that S&S 475. It sounds amazing. If I do it again it will be the 475.
Hate to tell you man but they may have messed something up on your install. Your bike is still ticking and it shouldnt and they put a bad tune on the bike. Shooting flames is cool but is not good for your motor, means its running super rich. I work in service at a harley dealer. Weve installed a ton of harley cams, s&s cams, woods cams, and fueling cams, none have ever ticked like that and smoked like that after the start up.
That's good to know. The lifter is something we should listen for or change em out? In your opinion what should one do? Great upgrades MK 87. Ride Safe 👍
Nice!! I'd really like to hear a 465, from the charts that seems to have more torque in the 0-3500 range which where I ride. Is there a reason most people go with the 475?
Pretty sure half the people doing cam jobs just want as much lope as possible. The woods 22xd sounds way better than the 475 and all of the torque is bottom end. Just my opinion, the 475 is nasty just not my rev range style
Marvel, bro you need to send that back to your mechanic. I’ve put a ton of 475 cams and mine have never sounded that bad. It’s either a bad lifter or pushrods need adjusted or oil pressure. Also need to put another tune in it.
@@andrewwalton477 hey Andrew I have had a bunch of bikes mostly Harleys over the years. Im not a mechanic and always have to take my bikes into my dyno guy. I have a 2016 lowrider s, and 16 street bob that I'm about to trade towards a 2020 lowrider s. I haven't had the m8 yet. Can you tell me what to look and listen for when I'm looking at the M8 2020 lowrider s ? I'm a guitar player so I understand that sound you get when things are perfectly in tune but as far as these M8s I just havent been around them enough to hear what sounds right or not I guess.
@@ChiefQ83 just make sure it doesn’t sound like that in the video haha .M8 is a great engine they fixed most of there issues early on like the oil pump but still have a couple issues. Once in a while I’ll see a valve springs go bad. If you keep it stock with exhaust and intake you probably won’t have any issues. But if you want to bulletproof or do a cam that like one in the video I would use a good lifter/cam plate like s&s or fueling, upgrade the inner cam bearing, adjustable pushrods.
I'm thinking very seriously about trading my 2016 street bob in for this model. I've owned a shit ton of bikes over the years but with Harley it's only been Dynas. I think I'm on my 5th or 6th dyna now. I've had a couple superglides, lowriders and a street bob oh and I my first was an old 90s wide glide with an S&S 88 I think. I know theres a million and one opinion videos out there but im just womdering if im making the right decision. I knkw that I am definitely over the dyna wobble on my SB...that shit is sketchy af on the freeway between 55 to 70. Especially up in the PNW when I'm riding in the rain all tha damn time.

I was about to say something about that aswell. ! Doesn’t sound right at all

I was going to mention this as well. That’s a bummer. I have the same exact issue too and all I’m doing is chasing my tail at the moment.
Agreed all these people telling him it sounds amazing …that does not sound right at all it’s knocking even worse 😮
th-cam.com/video/XVpBJUS1kpk/w-d-xo.html
Bro, it’s knocking even more now lol. Get that thing back on the lift.
I just put the same 475c on my 107 road glide, it is CRAZY!! It has 106,2whp now! Really amazing, and sounds incredible!!
Crazy how it changes the whole bike and wakes it up
Man this is SICK, thanks for putting me in a wasting money mood again 🤣
I put the same 1 in my FXFBS, dyno at 129hp and 124ftlbs

Sounds amazing! I’d love to see a video of comparisons between your low rider with the S&S cams and Road Glide with SE cams
Yea that’s coming
Glad to see that your Low Rider S is back on the road. It sounds like she is running like a beast! Can't wait to see more on your channel! Well done sir...
The sound is amazing
there is a clinking sound at the end of the video. u sure the issue was fixed??
Happy that you got her back and she sounds like a beast man Oh Yeah she’s back 🤟🏼👍
Mines in shop now getting the 475 with new exhaust can't wait! Nice ride ther
That lope sounds like a carburetor bike. Sounds fantastic, if possible I’d like to see a comparison between the S&S vs the SE setup.😎
It sounds like it's ticking.
Great cam , I ran the 465 in my road glide

Digging out some old ones. Wish I had one of these to keep my street glide company. Or I could just buy a Low Rider ST tk split the difference 😆
I bought the woods 22xE cam and power vision from fuel moto, it runs great with their map they sent me.
Bike sounds wicked now with that lope, hopping to get the Feuling 574 cams for my 17 FXDLS this winter, Cheers ✌🏼
That thing sounds like a small block chevy rumbling! nice man enjoy!

Does anybody know why the bike was smoking when it was switched on on the Jack stand? It looked like it was gonna catch fire
All the new gaskets settling it it’s normal
Wow, that sounds great!
Sweet ride dude looks, sounds and performs awesome 😎
@MarvelKid...hows the MPG since the cam install? Been contemplating on the S & S for my FXBBS.
Mpg...straight downhill...
@@illduitmyself bet.
Absolutely how I felt when mine was first done.... enjoy 🤙🇦🇺
Sick man
Aye bro i dont think that ticking is normal i been running same cam for while now and i dont have that tick. But glad u enjoyed the cam shits a blast
Is that me or is that thing still ticking like a mother there at the end??
But hows the mileage now?

Looks like it rides really nice popping a lot
Sounds good and looks like it pulls great.
Looks and sounds like a fun bike now !!!
Is that a used vest ?
what is that ticking noise in the video?
i have2 m8 . ive never heard a tapping like your m8 . pushrod be my thoughts.
You need a longer exhaust system it make it more tunable.
Congrats MK - love that awesome lope man. I'm going with the same cam for my 2020 LRS soon. Totally agree with the pushrod tube change, great touch.
👊🏽🔥
Sounds good bro! Are those riding pants and what kind if so?
That rear wheel looked uncomfortably close to plywood. Very professional workshop.
Sounds wicked 🔥
Thanks man
With the bike running put a finger on the push rod tubes, you might feel the one that is ticking.
That's good to know. The lifter is something we should listen for or change em out? In your opinion what should one do? Great upgrades MK 87. Ride Safe 👍
Holy shittt!!! She sounds so damn good
I knew that area looked familiar, right in Hackensack!!
Will builds like this last a long time and be reliable? Or is it very problematic to run this setup
Only time will Tell lol
Sounds great
Something doesn’t sound right on that bro 🧐
This is off topic
Have you ever had an issue with highway vibrations, like your hands numbing or hurting?
I get a numbing buzzing its HD bike ownership
Your bike still knocking at idle I would take it back.
sounds amazing!!!
That thing rips!!

Really nice

My dream bike
Race cams !! Lots of valvle noice needs tlc. Hard to ride slow it will make you nuts !

22x is a bottom end cam. 22xE is mid range. The 22xd is upper end. Look at the intake closing !!
Miss the FXLRS content
My bike is also the 2020 fxlrs.
That boi sounds awesome 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
What is your power band with the 475
In my experience, it was all high end, almost like a 2 stroke. I wasn't a fan of the 475
@@kashanimous1711 I went with Star 3030. I love it!!!
Either your lifters are bad or you need to adjust pushrods. That does not sound good.
Doesn’t sound right @7:58
The Beast Sounds the business ,, nice one.👍👍👍🇦🇺
🔥🐉 thanks man
YERRRR!
Yerrrr!
Man that thing sounds mean af!
Badass bike for sure. Is the current ticking noise due to the cam? Never heard that before. Ride safe.
The m8 usually have a loud valve train noise it’s annoying

Where are factory Harley parts made? China? Seems like they make cheap ass parts
