  • In this video we will teacj you how to change your Ram CCV filter. When your Ram service light comes on around 65,000 miles you most likely need a new CCV Filter. This DIY job is super simple and this video will help you save money. We also linked the parts below.
    ** In this video*
    0:22 Parts and Intro
    2:46 Parts and supplies needed
    4:10 Install
    6:34 Old filter vs new
    8:27 Torque specs
    9:09 Dash light reset
    Here we have a little how to video! I am by no means a mechanic, Ill show you my process for the "preform maintenance" or (CCV filter change)light on my 2016 RAM 2500 Cummins turbo diesel. In my opinion it's a fairly simple job, with the research and information provided you can do this service yourself. Saving you a large sum of money, between $350.00-750.00. This project took me roughly 35 minutes and that's with filming. The filter costs $54.00 (linked below), please let me know in the comments if you have any questions!

    • @AdventureEndeavor
      @AdventureEndeavor  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Maybe disconnect the battery and try resetting the code again? I'm no mechanic but what we stated in the video has worked for us twice already.

  • @tonyacrawford8656
    @tonyacrawford8656 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I got the perform service on my 2014 Ram 3500 a few days ago. I thought maybe it was the air filter, but it was changed less than 10,000 miles ago and haven't driven it in bad conditions. I bought 2 CCV filters off Amazon, they were cheap and when I got them, found out they weren't Cummins Fleetguard (found those later and were $75. Both of the ones I bought equalled to about $75). So I added 67,500 miles to the mileage I had when I did it so I would know when you change it next. So that mileage would be 295,955m. Am currently sitting at 234,400. It's not throwing a code (checked with my code reader), just the perform service message. Think it may be a bad filter?

    • @AdventureEndeavor

      Have you deleted the message? Maybe disconnect the positive battery terminal? I'd try that and see what happens

    I have a new-to-me 2020 Ram 2500 with the 6.7 diesel and the dealer recommended replacing the Crank Case Filter. They wanted $555.03 for parts and labor. This can't be it, right? Is there another Crank Case Filter somewhere else? Maybe one that's really hard to get to with a filter made of silver or gold? hehe

    • @AdventureEndeavor

    • @ChainsawChristmas
      @ChainsawChristmas 29 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      This is the only filter. And you don't clean or replace any other EGR components regardless of how much the dealership will try to convince you otherwise. The EGR valve on 2019+ RAMs CANNOT be disassembled and cleaned, but the dealer will try and charge you $400-500 to "clean" it.
      The only negative I have after buying my 2022 RAM 2500 has been the dealership drastically overcharging for EVERY service. Even extremely simple ones. It's my first diesel after switching from Toyota and I'm not sure if Ford/GM are any better, but I doubt I'll buy another RAM.
