    It’s a good idea to loosen the fill plug before you do anything else. If for some reason it is stripped or seized you want to deal with that before draining the fluid.

    Hi Jessie, great tip's on changing the Differential Fluids. I didn't know the newer trucks need it so often. My 1500 is over like 24 years old and haven't changed my rear-end fluid yet lol!! Maybe I should I have a little over 326K on it (wow). But most of it is all Freeway & Highway miles. Those Chingaderas sometime's mess me up hahahaha. I like the way you explain about how to keep it clean and it's importance, the way you clean the gasket ect Very thorough. I appreciate it. Thank you for the video my friend. Safe travels!!

      They don’t need diff fluid changed that often, that’s extremely early. It’s a sealed system unlike the engine oil.

    A fluid evacuator will be a favorite tool addition, especially for a hauler where we need to change fluids more frequently. Can change the diffs and T-case in under an hour. Best part, and you probably know what the RAM rear acts like when the fluid is cooked, is you can quietly change the fluid in a campground or in a parking lot, put the old fluid in the empty fill bottles, and drop them for fluid recycling.

    • @AdventureEndeavor
      @AdventureEndeavor  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah I thought about getting one of them. Maybe every other change. It's definitely a good idea to remove the pan every once and a while. Getting all the small metal shavings out. Thanks for the great advice Rob!

    • @robv4053
      @robv4053 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@AdventureEndeavor For sure! The hand pumped vacuum evacuators can't lift the metal dust, but an air compressor powered one will but not as travel-friendly. Being half-timers, still have my shop and tools. Nonetheless, I'm with you though, occasional close up inspection still a must! Enjoy your "moochdocking" stay you guys!

    If you had to flush either diff, what would you suggest?

    • @AdventureEndeavor
      @AdventureEndeavor  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Flush? Typically I do what we did in the video. Or you can suck out the majority of the old fluid and put new stuff in. With a good pump. You can get about 90% out.
