Hello Julia!! Shifter here! Great video! I love these tips! Come to think of it, I am surprised you didn't mention exercise or get out in nature. It could be a simple 5-minute walk. So that's one I would add! I think I am going to work on managing my phone usage and turning off notifications. 1. Make sure we are not discounting the small stuff. 2. Listen to classical Music ( I LOVE Classical music too - especially film scores.) 3. drink more water 4. learn to deep breath 5. Assume the best in others 6. Let yourself play 7. To spend more time with people you love 8. Send a text to someone and tell them that you are thinking about them. 9. To listen to uplifting music 10. To watch a funny movie (TV show, video, listen to something funny, memes, cartoons) 11. Laugh at your own jokes 12. Turn notifications off on your phone. 13. Put your phone in another room. 14. Smile at the people you pass on the street (Or say Hello) 15. Send a card with money in it 16. To stand in a cold shower for 30 seconds 17. Get rid of things you don't use 18. Use your best things now 19. To volunteer 20. Go get a hug 21. To the darn thing you have been avoiding 22. Plan something you can look forward to 23. Name 3 of your strengths (I am a good listener; I have art and computer skills) 24. To give less hoots 25. Don't believe everything you think (Your thoughts aren't always truths or facts) 26. Hold the door open. (*Bonus*) And to anyone who read this - remember always that you are worthy and valued. Sending a virtual hug to anyone who needs one! ❤
Really well done! The cold Shower is one I recently started doing and it really works. The one I would add to this list (and maybe it's not small) is "Find your passion". You MUST have a passion. You can't cop out and say "My kids" or "my family" or "hanging out with friends". Those are all of our passions. I mean a REAL passion that you could do alone. Here is the trick. Often people get confused about what is or is not a passion. They think it's a passion but here is how you know something is a true passion. Does your excitement to do this thing (alone) increase at the thought of plastering it all over social media? If the answer is yes, then this may not be a true passion. A true passion is something you love to do and could care less if you can post it on social media or not. All of us have to find that thing! When the wife and kids are out of town visiting their parents you can't wait to get into "your thing". That right there is the key to a happy life:)
@@JaysonT1 I would love for you to elaborate on that. I always value hearing the other side of my views. You are the first person I have ever heard this from so again, I would love to understand that perspective.
@@cpruns4501 The philosopher Alan Watts coined the phase, "The Backwards Law". The concept is that that in which you chase eludes you; The prettier you try to be, the uglier you feel, the more you want to be rich, the poorer you feel, despite the amount of money in your bank account, the focus on being happy, brings suffering and unhappiness. There is quite a few places to find this information. A few would be author Mark Manson and pretty much any of the eastern philosophies.
Totally needed this .... I need to do the simple little things and forgo the heavy deep work for a while. One thing that has helped me a lot more is "Say "Hello" or smile to strangers". It helps!
I have a lot of compassionate empathy. I don’t give up, no matter how badly I want to (and I often want to lately). I take people at face value and try to see the best in them.
"What are we trying to prove? That we are too cool to embody joy?"🤯 Had to listen to that twice! Thanks, Julia for all you do and the wisdom you share!
I usually don't let comments on TH-cam video but you definitely deserve. Thank you for your amazing effort to put all your knowledge in thys videos for us for free. God bless you all.
I absolutely love you. I’ve been watching so many of your videos lately and they are really helpful. It’s helping me see more clearly the areas of my life that could use improvement. You have such a wholesome and kind energy to you. Thank you for what you do.
Thanks so much for this great and informative video as usual :)) My strengths are humour, kindness and social intelligence because I love laughing and having conversations with people too !
Thanks, Julia! These were great. The ones I will implement/continue to implement are drinking water, listening to classical music, and reminding myself things I like about myself. Also, the guy thing is important, but I feel uncomfortable asking for that in my life.
Hi Patrick from Mind Life FLow here - great advice...this will help so many people! I am a Clinical Psychologist in Australia. I agree that daily routine changes - mindfulness practices - can be life changing. Which one do you find is the most helpful for others?

Hi. Assuming the best of people has caused me so many issues over the years I’m not sure I can go forward with that. In an ideal world, sure that’s fine. But evidentially it is inadvisable. For me.
Also in many grocery stores and Walmart and target’s have what’s called Iv hydration. It has electrolytes and Powerade and Gatorade sugar free have electrolytes in them as well and body stays healthy.
As always a wonderful video with great help and ideas along with inspiration which I really enjoy when I am here on your channel Julia 😊 one thing I have been trying to get into because it lifts my mood is mindfulness meditation 😊 Thank you Julia looking forward to when I am here on your channel 😊 have a great week & love you and appreciate you so much Julia 💕 ❤❤
Omg Julia you crack me up 😂 "dont drink four gallons of water and DIE" On the note of music - it's interesting how calming and peaceful spa music is, yet I never listen to it outside of getting a facial. I think I'll have to try that today!
I enjoy your videos, I always find them helpful and inspiring. The water thing isn't supported by the science tho; drink if you're thirsty, that's all you need to know. Most of the research that promotes drinking more than that was published by Gatorade to sell more junk 😁
I think your very intelligent funny and adorable and just what me and my 32 year old daughter needed right now. Love from Albuquerque. 😘 She destroyed straws at 4 just like her 4 year old today. 😁

I actually disagree with "find your passion". The pursuit of a passion causes misery.

I do cold showers but I keep getting pneumonia. Twice this year. Once with covid. Once in 2020. My wife thinks its doing more harm.
