- Check out my 1975 Trillium 1300! This is my 13ft fibreglass trailer. I gutted and renovated it myself in just 9 days! In this video I take you on a full tour of the trailer, explain what I added and left alone, how I did everything and where I got all the materials.

You are laugh out loud funny! So enjoyed your honest humor and cute trailer, I'm an old lady (over 70) with a tiny Scamp trailer so really appreciate your Trillium. Thanks for the tip about the bed tray! I have one and never thought to use it in my trailer until your video. I also keep my bed up all the time and have sometimes have one of our 4 dogs camp with me. Keep doing what you love and you'll always love what you're doing 😉
By far the nicest interior I’ve seen on one of these small fiberglass campers. It’s beautiful, serene, feels spacious and relaxing, yet has everything you need and more. Also like how the guest “quarters” are made so comfy, pretty and practical. Nice job! (The only thing I don’t personally like is that whole pee situation.)
Nice work that you have done. I use a Raspberry Pi 3b as my computer with a portable TV that also plays DVDs. A router is installed to create a private network, then devices such as Raspberry Pi, IoT devices and security devices, like video monitoring/motion detection (MotionEye with a Raspberry Pi). I also have 2 AGM batteries and 140W solar panel to power everything.
Rewatched it to motivate me to finish or start to work on my Burro. Your flower arrangement at the end looks like a poodle puppy. Still love your camper, so Bright and airy.
👍👌❤️🇨🇦, gr8 remodel, I inherited my dad's 1977 17' Boler back in 1997, still got her, these trailers are so much fun
You and your lavender trailer are darling! I love bright colors inside, it's perfect.
I love this so much! My hubby has an old Trillium and I want to restore it. You've given me so many great ideas! You did such a great job - it's beautiful!
YAY!!!
WOW this is sooo..... have no words.... New follower YAY! Will binge watch your videos. Hugs from Scandinavia xxx
AWW thanks so much!!!
You and your trailer are pretty hot ! Nice remodeling job as well...
I have the same trailer and have been working on it while still being able to use it . Next job is to remove the windows and put new frames in and do a complete body job with paint and then install the Maxx Air Deluxe exhaust fan that arrived yesterday. Nice video with good helpful tips ! Thanks
Fantastic remodel, Lauren,,,love it,,,,I'll guide a friend of mine who has a '78 1300, to give her your ideas of what you did.
Amazing job, Lady....You did really good!
WOW thank you so much!
I really enjoyed this video .I was searching for videos inside of a trillium .
Along with it I was not expecting to find ALL these useful tips of yours delivered in a very relatable way . I love that you shared your pee story with us lol . I mean that is a real issue for women camping in our own so I’m glad you covered it .
I am really looking forward to watching all your videos as I love my yoga and my mini van camping which I hope to upgrade at some point . Thanks 🙏🏻
AMAZING! Thanks so so so much for being here.
I remember your posting when you started painting this, how you mixed two kinds of paint and how hard some of it was at the beginning. Look now, its brilliant! and you have become super knowledgeable on campers and building renos!~ I remember when you started the project and I thought wow, I wish I was that brave to try new ideas or directions. Inspiring then and even more seeing this now. Cheers and thanks~
Aww thanks so much!! It was definitely HARD but so worth it!! I would TOTALLY do it again!
@@LaurenRudick Where is that video
Thank you for sharing. I love what you did. Your trailer looks cozy.
I like the light weight ideas for the camper - but what about the potty when you do no 2 - I like the idea of a compost toilet or camping toilet stowed away somewhere
Thanks! Honestly the woods doesn't bother me.
Don't ask me where I work if you don't have somthing to paint better and work on! What a nice trailer you have there! ❤
Lauren, on the way to Knoxville to pick up a 2014 Trillium. You have a lot of good points about insurance and some of your up grades. Will get back in touch when we get back.
YAY!!!!!
LOVE this for you Lauren!
This is SO stunning & completely functional, so glad you're digging this camper lifestyle.
I'm also in Ontario & believe we chatted awhile back on instagram - I have the 1978 Toyota RV.
Gotta say though, you've convinced me on the ability to detach from your car and travel... i've been searching for a fiberglass camper in Ontario EVER SINCE.
Can't wait to see all your sweet adventures love!
Maybe i'll see ya on the road! :)
Haha ya! I wasn't sure, Van vs. Trailer. BUT it is SUPER nice to be able to just leave it somewhere and go on a day adventure... I DID however make sure I got a new car that was big enough to sleep in, juuuuust in case!
Awesome Camper and you are Stunning ✌️
Hi! Love what you did with the camper, it’s beautiful! I admire your ability to think outside the box, and care for the environment:)) so much respect for you. I’m a 20 year old female from southern Ontario and just started renovating a 1987 Bonair Travel Trailer, so this video really hit the spot for me. Will definitely be using your channel for inspiration😊
“Panel flew off on the 401 somewhere, hope I didn’t kill anyone” made me crack up! Don’t hear Canadian comments like that too often on here lol.
Rock on Lavender!💜
That is an amazing restoration you did.
THANK YOU so much!
Hi Lauren…how did you attached the shelves to the backsplash?
Regular screws!
I screwed right through them.
I’ll definitely have to check out that usb water pump. Also the pee funnel is a great idea! I use a stainless steel mixing bowl with a handle and a pot lid on top as a bathroom at night. Then you just empty it outside in the morning.
Pee funnel- no handling, no mess (usually)
If you click the link in the description, I posted ALL the stuff with amazon links for both US and Canada to purchase!
Damn she's gorgeous, and the trilium too!
Very impressive work! When someone says they had to Macgyver it I know they gotta be cool. 😎 thanks for the video!
You got that right!
Well done, love it!
Awesome setup! That is an amazing trailer and rehab of the camper. New follower here. Crow✌️
This but plus a composting toilet that separates the liquids from the solids. I'd want some kind of showering option. I could do upper body stuff and feet at a sink but I would serious want a wet bath. i've considered rather a smaller size van buildi, but simpler than what most people have. I am well versed in alternative ways of cooking so a camp stove or just one burner would be no big deal. I lived four years of my life in a dorm and in places where I might not be able to use the kitchen so had to make do with microwaves, hot pots, plug ins skillets and camp stoves. I would want a farm house sink with a sprayer faucet that could be pulled into an adjoining tiny wet bath or even outside. I have seen those and I think they're great. One woman had that at her sink and then a pull out hose in the back of her wan and curtains for places she could shower "outside". I also saw a great "no build" where a woman had a water tank but had light weight stuff that was easy to set up outside.I thought that was really awesome. I personally would like a sink though where I could wash up and then a composting separate liquids from solids toilet so you don't have to have a black water tank, only a grey tank. I would need AC and I didn't see that in the no build. It would be hard to not have AC
I was down to deciding between a Surfside and a 75 Trillium but I was horrified by the original design in the Trillium but I think you have just converted me.
Hey - looks great! We have a 1973 trillium. Just wondering how you were able to move up the propane stove, sink, and faucet so that it could be level with the plywood counter-top? Also, how did you mount the backsplash? There's an indent in the middle of the fibreglass so I'm assuming you put up a flat sheet of plywood first? Thanks!
Hey- on my instagram highlights I showed how. I stuck a piece of wood on the indent. I saw some folks just glueing the backsplash to a foam core board and then using double stick tape to get it on the fibreglass.
We cut a new hole for the sink and faucet and chucked it in.
Beautifully decorated and well organized little trailer.
Just watched your trillium video. Looks great!! Some neat ideas. You mentioned you were going to post at the end where you got things. I love the baskets!... amazon?
The baskets were actually Canadian Tire!
Great Job!
Is it possible to see it in person. I’m also considering restoring a trillium
She sold it...I noticed in comments
Very nice camper. For some reason I can't see any Amazon links in your description, I'm very interested in that faucet pump!
www.laurenrudick.com/vintage-trillium-trailer-camper-reno-and-tour/ here it is! I'll update the video
really nice...............new to this scamp or trillium?
The interior of your Trillium is stunning like something out of Architectural Digest(or at least Better Homes & Gardens). The suitcase solar panels might be a good option since there's no installation. I appreciate your transparency regarding life in a camper trailer. Thank you for the tour. What kind of paint did you use for the interior walls? How has it held up?
Battery charge will last less than a day if it runs the fridge. Your choice of running it on propane is good. That lower fridge vent door is important. Without it, rain will enter the trailer. Directly under the fridge is a piece of plywood. Under that piece is the plywood that makes up the main floor. You do not want rot in the main floor. The Trillium design makes floor rot very difficult to fix. Prevention is the key.
OH! Thanks for letting me know!!
Your trailer is almost exactly what I would do if I had one. I watched a vid of someone that did a Boler remodel and where you now have your couch, they built a wall across that area, 3/4 on the sink side was made into a tiny toilet/shower area and the other 1/4 on the front door side into another closet area. So if I took your style and their layout BOOM! perfect trailer for me. I also LOVE your lantern. Oh, and Shein has a pee funnel for women for like two bucks that might be easier to pee into and you can also just use it to pee into a jug instead of draining it onto your friends lawn. If you are still having problems with peeling paint in your cabinets, try sanding it down and using marine paint. What do you use for heat?
HAHHAHA Fair enough... I don't camp in the winter. When it's cold, I put on layers and layers. camped until November last year!
Just ran across your video and I love love love it. 😘
Awe thanks so so much!!!
hi there Lauren, love your trailer and what you did with it. I live in Ontario and have been going back and forth about putting peel and stick wallpaper on my fiber glass. It looks beautiful ! I am just curious if you could share some insight into how it held up over the winter? cheers thank you
I am restoring an old Scamp right now. The previous owners used peel and stick contact paper years ago to cover all the wood doors. The dampness in the trailer caused it to get wrinkled.
It did come off a bit and I glued it back down with super glue. VERY doable :)
excellent video
Thanks SO Much!
I have the same one! What did you use to paint the inside and how has it held up?
How did you attach your kitchen shelf? You can't drill through the fiberglass, right?
You can drill through fiberglass, you just need wood strips behind the fiberglass for screws.
@@dougshaffer5524 How do you put wood strips behind the backsplash wall? I have a deposit on a 2004 Trillium. I want to find shelves like hers. I just can't see how to secure them to the backsplash wall like she has.
Also curious!
Backsplash plywood could probably be attached using contact cement. Inside the top cupboards there is also access to go behind the wall with 3/4 " pine strips ,possibly 18" long, that could be held in place while the backsplash is screwed to them (predrill holes for the srews).
Yes like the idea of coming home at the end of a day. To tow my home with me every day seems a pain. The only thing I see with like a van is if something happens, if you did not connect you can leave. Other than that I'd rather have a small trailer. Peace!
Don't use latex paint on a fiberglass RV. You will need to use automotive. Latex will peel off in sheets. It was not meant for fiberglass. Cute interior.
Hi Lauren, nice work on the camper. We just bought one the same age and I was wondering how is yours holding up, if you still have it?
Hiiii it was in AMAZING condition held up so so well, but I sold it. I am sad I did because I miss it so much!
I just got my 1975 Trillium 2 days ago. There will be lots more soap & water & elbow grease before it hits the road. It's parked next to my house so it's handy to work on BUT how do I level it with that crowbar thing? I'm getting seasick just working in it.
I'm restoring a 74 trillium, any info you could share about fixing window dry root
I got that part professionally done...
Thanks so much for sharing your Trillium. It is beautiful. I just bought a 1977 Trillium 1300 and it's my first trailer ever (I'm 68!) Where do you keep it parked when you're not on the road? Also, were you afraid to paint the outside? I want to paint mine but am nervous about where to start. Take care and safe travels!
Glad it was helpful!
Great job 👏
Thank you! 😃
Nice. very littel black dress. Reminds me of Frederick.
okay, but what did it look like when you bought it...9 days to do what exactly?
Lauren did you paint the interior yourself? If you did can you tell me what you painted the all the fiberglass with?
Yes! I painted the interior myself with a brush and the exterior with a roller. Outdoor latex paint.
@@LaurenRudick what did u paint ceilings with...did it peal or chip...I want to paint mine as well. Tyvvm!!
No worries if this is too personal.. but I was wondering how much you paid for your vintage trailer? My husband and I are about to purchase one in the next few days and I want to make sure we’re getting a decent deal on it.
Hi Becky- I'm actually selling mine!! Send me an email we can chat about it! love@laurenrudick.com
@@LaurenRudick Hi, Lauren, I may be interested in your trailer as well? Why are you selling this little gem?
How did you handle the asbestos in it?
@Nancy Heptinstall none in the floor covering? Lucky you
A "P" funnel. Do you have a patent on that? lol
HAHAHAH Got the idea from a van life TH-camr. BRILLIANT
The price of trailer?
Since the pandemic they've gone up in price SOO much. in 2022 I've been seeing them UNrenovated for 15-20k!
Hi I like what you did for your camper. I'm looking for one write now .I want to sell my trailer and my side by side. Or trade for a unit like your .1970 to 1980 unit. My jeep wrangler 4door would pull a unit like your no problem. Nice to me you I live in Saskatchewan. Me .
Wow Its So Beautiful The Colors Are Me. I Love Your Life I Have Bone Cancer So Very Very Limited To Life Living I Fight Everyday To Heal I Would Love To Have One That I Can Hook Up To Walker❤
Great! It is pot-able water not poh-table water like you are saying. But even that was cute.
Music too loud.
Look at my name bruh
Get a potta potty?
The music is drawning you out.1:34 in, didn't watch any more.
