No, you’re right. The actor for Peggy is still alive. I believe the actor for Louann passed away tragically but that was a few years after cancellation. KOTH was cancelled because because they were pushing hard for the Cleveland Show. Mike Judge was pissed over the matter because this would end up being a third Seth McFarland program on Adult Swim/Fox or whatever- and would end up failing miserably. I agree, completely. The fact that the KOTH is still getting a lot of fan attention on YT and Hulu is that Proof enough that there was such a huge following of fans.
To be fair, only Boomhauer and Connie are playing melodies. The other guys are just playing accompaniment. Not impossible to whip out your old guitar or keyboard and play a few notes if you still remember a bit of it

This will always be my favorite scene of the show. It perfectly encapsulates what I love about KoTH. These characters get put into some crazy situations sometimes but at the core of the show they're just a group of close friends and family living their lives and having fun. I think the show would have been a success animated or live action because the characters are so relatable.
