    I was confused by a charging speed test performed by gsmarena, where they used a 25W and a 45W power adapter, and got the same charging speeds. Apparently they used the bundled 3A cable that was in the box. It was odd seeing how 45W made no difference in charging speeds, but now it makes sense. Samsung could have included a proper 5A cable for the S23+ and S23 Ultra phones...

      i have bought a phone based on the specs as given by gsmarena. And the performance specs given was wrong. The worse was, was when checked other websites for confirmation, it was wrong too. Seems like they copy from each other.

    • @mohamedjawali4676
      @mohamedjawali4676 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      the test made by gsmarena shows that there's no major difference when charged to 100% as the charging speed get slower around 80% but the key difference is when you start from a low percentage like 5 or 10 % : with the 45w you can easily reach 50% quicker. So if you only charge overnight, you can pass by the 45w but if you are always in hurry, then you should look for higher wattage.

    Dude , thank you. I've been thinking about cabble for years. I'm sure I missed that basic explanation sometime ago when I got a phone and was caught up in the excitement of the new device. Plus, with Samsung changing to 45watts and assuming that the provided cables were adequate, I was missing out on the benefits of super fast charging. Note : buying a like new refurbished note 20ultra , the reseller may have been a variable that added to the confusion.

    Man I needed exactly this video when I was buying my cable exactly 1 week before you published this video. I was literally researching for days to find the right one. But I'm still glad I found this now for the future, it makes it SO MUCH easier, thank you👍
    Also I don't recommend buying the Samsung 5A cable since it's way too expensive and the quality is very bad. It doesn't sit tight in the phone and goes loose after a short time and now it also broke half a year after (it also isn't much flexible and not that long). But I definitely can recommend Anker, since it's better quality and lower price.

    I bought the Samsung 45 watt super fast charger. And I tried my regular cable and the one that came with my super fast charger. And it in fact DOES make a difference. There is very big differences in the cables. The one that came with my super fast charger is a lot thicker and robust. On the cable it says "5A+ super fast charge 2.0". So having the proper cable really does matter. The power brick can sense when it's not proper and will limit what it puts out for safety unless it sees a compatible cable. When I compare the difference between the type c cable that came with my phone and the type c cable that come with the 45 watt super fast charger, you will notice a huge difference. The one that comes with the super fast charger 45 watt is really thick and extremely well made. It's also really long. Great video man

      @FromBKI ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi is it samsung or 3rd party chargers?

    • @TT-wm7hx
      @TT-wm7hx ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@FromBKI It's the Samsung EP-TA845.
      The charger's specifications:
      (PDO) 5.0 V = 3.0 A or 9.0 V = 3.0 A or 15.0 V = 3.0 A or 20.0 V = 2.25 A
      (PPS) 3.3-11.0 V = 4.05 A or 3.3-16.0 V = 2.8 A or 3.3-21.0 V = 2.1 A
      ...which makes perfectly sense:
      11.0 V * 4.05 A = 44,55 W
      16.0 V * 2.8 A = 44,8 W
      21.0 V * 2.1 A = 44,1 W
      So if you ask physics, it's just not true that you need a 5 A cable to get 45 W of power. Makes absolutely no sense at all. It's just a matter of communication and protocols used by the charger and the smartphone.
      But I cannot judge if the requirements of the S23 Ultra are others than for the S23+.

    I'm surprised the maker of this video doesn't mention the phone can't charge at 45W at all. You have the same 100W cable with power indicator as i have. I also have an official 3-poorts Samsung charger which can charge 15W USB-A, 25W USB-C and 65W USB-C. I've never seen it charging 45W especially not continuously. When it's charging from like 0% intil 15% it's charging with pulses, sometimes reaching 41W for not even a second. Above 20% it charges at almost 40W but not long.
    I'm wondering why you didn't show us that important information...
    Also when you turn your screen on while charging it will slow down the charging process.

      You will never reach the claimed 45W. I have an original Samsung charger which can do 15W on USB type A and two sockets for USB type C, one 25W and one 65W. Even on the 65W it doesn't charge at 45W even not when this is the only socket with a (100W) cable in it. The phone sometimes reaches 38W (for like 10m) but never more. When you connect more devices at the same time to the charger, the phone charges even slower. The charger can't handle that. Don't know about that part what Anker chargers or others can do. But 1 thing is for sure the Samsung Galaxy phone's can't reach the claimed 45W.

    Hi,
    I use a 45w charger head that I bought separately and use the cable that came from the box. From 10-85% about 20 minutes.
    I just realized that the cable that I got from buying a 45w charger is 5A.
    I have to check the cable lol.
    Is it okay if I still use the 45w charge head and the cable that came from the box?

    Not any 45watt charger can trigger the super charging 2.0.
    The charger needs to output 9V/5A for the phone to show 2.0. Else, it'll just charge at 45watt without showing 2.0.

    Did anyone use android app Ampere to test the charging current?
    I tested my 25W charger on my S23Ultra. I got 4200mA even with the 3A cable. That's much higher than the advertised up to 3Ampere.
    I assume Samsung S23Ultra has dual battery with max 4.2V charging volts. I am already getting (4.2V+4.2V)*4200mA = 35Watts charging power.
    It seems not worth getting the 45W charger.

    Hello! So my old phone galaxy s20+ would say super fast charging. And it would stay on the entire charge. Now with the new galaxy s23 ultra. It will say "super fast charging 2.0" for about 5 seconds when I first plug in. Then it goes back to just saying "charging" I get about 1% charge per minute it's connected. So from 65% to 100% takes 35 minutes. I checked all settings and the fast charging is turned on. Is the device still fast charging? It's really confusing as it's description changes after the initial plug in. If you have any tips or information, I would be greatly appreciative. Thanks!!

    You failed to mention no 45w chargers work at *2.0* speeds besides Samsung's own or Ankers Ace charger. It doesn't matter if it supports PD3 with PPS which should be the only requirement to safely send 45w to a phone. You have to buy Samsung or Anker. I wonder how much Anker paid Samsung for that exclusive.

      Samsung's cable which came bundled with the S23 Ultra is NOT a "5A" USB-C 2.0 cable. It's the much more prevalent, older technology standard "3A" USB-C cable. Samsung, just like Apple, is cheaping out and removing and/ or downgrading what used to be the standard kit items included so you could take advantage of all the advertising hype.

    I Don't see how it's worth it to spend money on buying the 45W charger and also buying a 5A cable to go with it. You tested that it took 1hr 9min to fully charge. I use the standard charging cable that comes with S23 Ultra and a 25w charger from an older phone and it takes a 1h and 11-14min to fully charge. I don't see the need to use Super-Fast Charging 2.0 and spending extra money on a charger and cable in order to get 3-5 min faster charging.
