    I think the takeaway here is real world use. If I get home with 10% battery and need to get a charge to go out for the night, I can get back up to 70% in 25 minutes. 0-100% isn't what most people are going to be using, most people just want a quick bump of juice to last them for the rest of the day

      Also they recommend turning on the max 85% charge limit on your phone to preserve the lithium ion battery life. It really works. What kills your battery quickly is charging from low capacity less than 30% and over 80% as it puts a chemical strain to charge the lithium between outter and inner the graphite layers. I use the samsung duo wireless charger for my S23U as it has a built in fan with smart charging. It comes with a 25watt adapter.

    As other people said, a 45 watt charger is a nice to have in "emergency situations", when you wake up late for school with *10%* and only have 15 minutes to charge (in 15 minutes 45 watts gets you to 48% while the 25 watts get you to 38%) or when you wanna go hang out with your friends you can also take the charger with you and plug it either at your friends house or at a bar for 20 minutes easily.
    Of course if you have time, preferably use a 15watt or a 25watt charger as it is better for your battery and avoids wasted heat.
    I am going to get a 45watt charger but I already have a 25watt one. Just to have it if I need it. (Costs less than 30 euros in my country right now)

      Finally, someone who gets it! Most people aren't looking for 0-100% in 45 min, they just want it for when you're in a rush and only have 10% left in your phone. Although I wish Samsung would opt for a 65W charger just to compete with the current market... But given the Note 7 fiasco I don't think they'll be doing that anytime soon

    • @JackMaslovCZLive
      @JackMaslovCZLive ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@heeeydevon8262 Yeah, they probably won't. They are playing it a little safe with the batteries.
      Personally, I do not need a faster charger and kind of believe that no one actually needs it. Not only is it unnecessary additional wear on your battery but there's no way you won't have a total of 40 minutes each day to charge your phone. In two 20 minute intervals you charge your phone from 10% to 60%.
      Right now I have the regular Galaxy S22 and I need 160% of battery to get throughout the day. I am going to buy the S23 Ultra by the end of this month and my only hope is for the phone to get me through the day, doesn't even need to last the whole night. If it manages to do that I will be, after 4 samsung phones from my past, a satisfied costumer. 😃

    In my opinion, the 45w charger is definitely worth it. Comparing both when charging up to 100% is not relevant, because in such a case I probably have enough time and would not mind the few minutes differences. But when having little time, there the 45w charger shines and the difference is huge. Regarding charging to 100% under one hour: for this, you'll need to switch off the phone. Thank you for the video.

      Other fast chargers don't work like that. The difference should remain similar through full charge. In this case the 25w charges faster than the 45w during the last few minutes

      @heeeydevon8262 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      I was just saying this, 0-100% isn't what most people are going to be using. It's about how much juice can I get if I need to charge from 10% to 70% before I leave the house. The 45W charger comes in clutch for that

    • @heeeydevon8262
      @heeeydevon8262 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kpehe100 not necessarily, heat dissipation has a lot to do with the slow down. I think real world usage will show how useful the 45W charger is, especially for those days when you're at 10% battery and get that last minute phone call to go out and you want a decent charge by the time you're done getting ready. 25 min is all you need to get from 10% to 70%.
      I don't think that anyone is really looking for a 0-100% charge in most conditions, usually that's for when you're going to bed (which you should be trickle charger for anyways)

      @evanraymond756 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Tbh, the difference is not all that much. However, if you are a power user, 45w is definitely the way. Tho, neither 25w nor the 45w charger are fast in today's standards. Taking over an hour for a full charge is kinda wack, considering most of the competition has much faster charging (and an actual charging block to boot). I get that samsung doesn't want their phones to explode again, but it's kinda embarrassing that they're at the top yet have those problems. Hopefully, they actually make changes to have their phones charging to 100% in 30ish minutes.

    Definitely 45w. It is the time to 75% that matters more than the time to 100% for me. I use my 45w at work for quick bursts in batter life and my 25w at home when charging to 100%. It is so much faster for picking up a quick 30% to 50% battery. Just my 2 cents. My understanding is that the throttle point to save battery is around 80%, that's why the 25w caught up. As it is almost fully charged, it shows around 15 W of charging speed. This is done to protect the battery with adaptative charging while making sure you can have more juice when needed. 45-watts done the Samsung way is not really fast charging, just faster charging for some of the time. So for a quick top-up it is better than the 25-watt charger, but overall, versus what China is doing, all rather tepid and underwhelming.
    I suspect Samsung does the 45-watt for marketing so fans can feel they are getting better tech. Sadly, the reality is that Samsung has poor fast charging versus all the Chinese brands. Apple and Google are also behind the curve, even more so, but we are talking about a £1400 phone called the "Ultra" so it is rather disappointing.
    For those that say they do not need it, well you can have it and still charge slowly, but the feature is added value and shocking that Samsung, Apple and Google are so far behind.

      It's very typical of the big house name brands to innovate less and less these days because they simply don't have to. They already have the market share and know what they're bringing to the table. These lesser brands have to bring something different, or they wouldn't be taken seriously at all. But honestly, the battery in my S23 Ultra lasts me all day easily with plenty to spare and I consider myself a pretty heavy user. On the average weekday I usually unplug fully charged at 6:30AM. By the time I plug my phone back in around 11PM I still have around 30%. That's with the usual 5~ hours of screen time for a weekday (social media, TH-cam, music/podcasts, web browsing, etc.)
      I can easily get 8+ hours of screen time and heavy usage before the phone dies. That being said, I'm still using the "warp" charger that came with my old OnePlus N10 which I've found only charges OnePlus devices at the advertised 30W. My S23 Ultra only charges at 10W with it. I'm about to purchase a 150W GaN charger to charge my gaming laptop when I'm not gaming and don't need full power, so I don't have to tote around the bulky 330W charger it comes with, which will have the added benefit of fast charging my phone. But, if I didn't need that I would just deal with the slow charge because the battery is so good, I don't ever find I need to quickly top off my phone. But I agree that when you're paying this much for a device that's supposed to be the best and have everything, it would have been nice to see some higher numbers. But I still wouldn't go with a different brand.

    45 watt is worth it all the speed happens in the beginning after halfway they both get the same watts. Samsung has 85% limit app on the battery which you should be using anyways. 85-100 is irrelevant. It destroys the battery. I only charge to 100 percent when I'm using public transport all day.

    The only disappointment of this phone for me, I feel like the charging is so slow. My phone usually charges fully in about 70 minutes using 45w. My old S20U even charged faster, it took 60 minutes and that is a 3 years older device. Samsung really have to step up their charging game. My Oneplus fully charges in less half of the time of the S23U (and there is no heating issue or battery degradation).

      most phone companies figured out how to reduce heat and make fast charging safer for your battery. It's super safe to use it these days. What's worse for your battery is leaving it at 100% overnight. If you're using the S22 ultra and up, set up a scheduled task on your phone to limit your charging to 85% until 30 minutes before you wake up, then set it to allow to charge to 100% after that. Your phone will hit 100% the moment you wake up

    ~16 minutes on 25W
    from 50% to 80%
    ~16 minutes on 45W
    ~17 minutes on 25W
    there you go, 45W is useless in 90% of the cases. You also need an e-marked/5A cable and a PPS charger capable of 10V/4.5 or 9V/5A which is technically standard but very few chargers actually support it. The cable you get with the phone is a flimsy 3A cable with stamped metal connectors, samsuck penny pinching all the way.

    but just for an average user that doesn't have emergencies to deal with then it's really not worth buying. I mean in my opinion in my testing the new 45 fast charger is only about 15% faster overall than a standard charger you get with Samsung
    Me personally once again it's not worth it on my end to spend extra money. if the 45 watt fast charger charged the Samsung phone 0 to 100% in under 45 minutes then yes I would buy it but right now it's not worth the extra money Samsung is pocketing for it....
