no worries :) before you learn anything else, make sure you master hangeul, the alphabet! It will just make everything a lot easier and it's pretty much impossible to learn anything if you cant read/write in hangeul. After that, some really helpful websites are howtostudykorean and talktomeinkorean. Talk to Me in Korean also has an amazing series of books available on their online store, with different levels and lessons. I also like these apps: Eggbun (lots of free lessons plus teaches hangeul), HiNative (ask questions and get feedback from native speakers), and HelloTalk (language exchange app). Sorry if that was too much information lmao, those are just all of the things I wish I would've found earlier! If you ever need a study buddy, hmu!
밥 means steamed rice while 쌀 means uncooked rice. 밥 can also mean just food. Like 밥 주세요. translates to please give me food. good video, but for those learning, it's important to be aware that certain words can have multiple meanings. 😀

(I apologize for that) Some of the confusing words include "nanun" / "nonun" / "chonun" (# 6/#7/#9) because the suffix "-nun" is not used or directly translated into english. THUS, I'd like to clarify that learning Korean will be difficult (as it was for me to explain these discrepancies) because it is a very different language than English, and has grammar that is nonexistent in English. However, you can trust that all the spellings and translations for the words on the vocab cards that I included next to myself in the video are correct. Just letting you guys know that there's two versions of "goodbye" in Korean.~ There's 1.안녕히 가세요 which is the one that Sumi mentioned in the video. (annyeonghi gaseyo) and there's 2. 안녕히 게세요. which is one that Sumi forgot to mention in the video ! Basically number 1. is used when someone is leaving your house or they're leaving first. You say this because the direct translation is like "goodbye". Whereas in the case of number 2. You use it when you are the one that's leaving the other person. So you would use this if you're leaving the table first, or leaving someone's house. This is because the direct translation is "Stay well" or something along the lines of that. So yeah just informing everybody here~

However, if you upload a video like that you should make sure that all the information in the video are correct. At first you said that you will give us some words in "한글, in Korean", but "한글" only is the word for the writing system and "한국어" or "한국말" is the word for Korean language. Then you said you can use "안녕히 가세요" to someone when you're leaving. That's wrong. It literally means something along the lines of "go well, go in peace", so you only say that when you AND the other person are leaving. If you're leaving and the other person is staying you would say "안녕히 계세요". Then you said that "저는" is a polite way of saying "I am" and in the sentence "저는 미국 사람입니다" the "입니다" is just some kind of verb extra, which is just wrong. The "은/는" particle is a topic marker and can be roughly translated to "as for/talking about" and the "입니다" comes from "이다", which is the verb "to be", not a verb extra. So "저는" literally means something like "as for me" (in the example you said: as for me I am American). This is not supposed to be "hate" in any way, I just want to help people who try to learn Korean and can be easily confused by mistakes like that. I just think it's important to learn things correctly from the start :) You're still a cute and cheerful person though and I enjoyed watching!

When you say annyeonghaseyo you should be able to tell the difference "ㅓ" between "ㅗ" because those is difference pronouncing. when you say "ㅓ" your mouth should be open a wide and when you say "ㅗ" your mouth should be sticking out and say it like a "ㅜ", you know what i mean? :D i'm sorry my grammar is bad because im still learning:D
It's great that you are learning and willing to teach but please please make sure that you are informing learners with the correct and accurate information! Commentors below are doing a wonderful job of doing that but my one tip/concern for you is your pronunciation. I understand that you are learning and Korean pronunciation is tricky sometimes but just try to spend time watching korean shows just so you know how to properly pronounce everything correctly. This came to mind with how you pronounced 입니다 and especially 안녕하세요. With 안녕하세요, each character sound is "stringed together" instead of saying each character separately. I hope this helps. Also, with 한글 and 한굴, please make sure you have a difference between the 글 and 굴 sounds because they are very distinct. Just like how my Korean name is 은해, many people who are learning korean mispronounce my name as 운해 or 은혜. Just a few pointers.

I’ve been wanting to learn Korean for a very long time now, and this has really helped me out. I was born in a Latino country so first language was Spanish, then I moved to America and learned English , then I took French in middle and high school and now fluent and now I’m trying to learn my fourth language! ( btw, I’m still in high school).
안녕히 가세요 is when someone is leaving a place and you're staying. It means like "go in a good way". 안녕히 계세요 is when you're leaving and it's like "stay good"
She has a very strong american accent and her korean sounds very unnatural. The way she says "annyeonghaseyo" is completely off. It sounds as if she has never heard the word spoken and is just reading the romanisation of the words she is citing in this video. I suggest you look for korean lessons online, watch (youtube) videos explaining pronounciation, watching dramas (but don't expect to learn the language through dramas, it helps for pronounciation though)... korean music isn't always good for pronounciations so focus on videos, tv shows and if you can listen to korean radio stations. You can also purchase CDs to learn pronounciations and get your ears used to the language. Make korean friends if possible... Good luck learning :)

When you say annyeonghaseyo you should be able to tell the difference "ㅓ" between "ㅗ" because those is difference pronouncing. when you say "ㅓ" your mouth should be open a wide and when you say "ㅗ" your mouth should be sticking out and say it like a "ㅜ", you know what i mean? :D i'm sorry my grammar is bad because im still learning:D

It's great that you are learning and willing to teach but please please make sure that you are informing learners with the correct and accurate information! Commentors below are doing a wonderful job of doing that but my one tip/concern for you is your pronunciation. I understand that you are learning and Korean pronunciation is tricky sometimes but just try to spend time watching korean shows just so you know how to properly pronounce everything correctly. This came to mind with how you pronounced 입니다 and especially 안녕하세요. With 안녕하세요, each character sound is "stringed together" instead of saying each character separately. I hope this helps. Also, with 한글 and 한굴, please make sure you have a difference between the 글 and 굴 sounds because they are very distinct. Just like how my Korean name is 은해, many people who are learning korean mispronounce my name as 운해 or 은혜. Just a few pointers.

I was born in a Latino country so first language was Spanish, then I moved to America and learned English , then I took French in middle and high school and now fluent and now I’m trying to learn my fourth language! 안녕히 가세요 is when someone is leaving a place and you're staying. It means like "go in a good way".
안녕히 계세요 is when you're leaving and it's like "stay good"
When you said 전화, you didn't say hwa, making it sound like 존나 which is a bad word so be careful with how you pronounce that

She has a very strong american accent and her korean sounds very unnatural. The way she says "annyeonghaseyo" is completely off. It sounds as if she has never heard the word spoken and is just reading the romanisation of the words she is citing in this video. I suggest you look for korean lessons online, watch (youtube) videos explaining pronounciation, watching dramas (but don't expect to learn the language through dramas, it helps for pronounciation though)... korean music isn't always good for pronounciations so focus on videos, tv shows and if you can listen to korean radio stations. You can also purchase CDs to learn pronounciations and get your ears used to the language. Make korean friends if possible... Good luck learning :)
