Great video. The point I’d add in terms of what I’ve seen take Guard players by surprise is how tough a lot of the Nids are. So many units have stealth, high toughness, 4+ invuls, sources of FNP. Obviously a gross generalisation but I’d say a good rule of thumb is that a Nid army will kill less than you expect but survive more.
I played against Tyranids just two days ago, with Adepta Sororitas. The guy brought two big bugs and a boatload of Termagants and other horde thingies. The Sisters killed the two big bugs and a whole lot of the smaller ones. Pointwise the game was a draw but the Sororitas put up one hell of a fight.
Commissars are a hard counter to Tyrinides battle shock with moral rerolls and executions. Two 6(+) moral rolled is a 92% pass for battle shock and summary executions are auto pass to 12 inches from the Commissar. Add Cadian command squads with the banner for Cadia Stands and the nids will be surprised they can’t count on battle shock.
Hey nice video As a nids player myself I’ve got a few inputs if you’re interested One the vanguard stat to make the battle round higher for Strat resv is probably more impactful in the fact you can bring stuff in on the sides turn one even if you got first Also Zoans only have 3 wounds not 4 they die very fast if they don’t kill their target and they are very swingy with only 6 laz shots basically
I mean, you opponent failing all his 4+ is just bad luck. Not saying they are not squishy. But anecdotal evidence of your opponent rolling bad is not really proof of that.
The Trannofex is I think is one of the best anti tank in the game. Hits on a 2 A2 S18 AP-4 2D6 damage….casino cannon is well worth a CP to re roll. It’s tough to kill too, blanking damage once per game.
So one thought with the invasion fleet. If they select the lethal hits option all of their ranged and cc attacks are precision (on a critical). So they could target officers, commisars and others characters attched to units couldnt they? Therefore nullifying our orders if they kill them.
You pick between the 3 options of lethal vs vehicle, sustained vs infantry or precision vs characters at the start of the game. However you still have to worry about precision no matter what since they have a 1cp strat to pick up to 2 of their units to get a second choice for that turn so can for example get lethal vs vehicles AND precision vs characters on 2 units that turn.
Played a 250 point skirmish against my buddy who was a nid player. He had a 10 termagaunts and a broodlord pushed into my deployment zone, he tabled my battle line infantry squad and my malleus rocket launchers turn 3. Failed all the battleship tests so I got tabled turn 3. Made me come try and find out how the hell I'm supposed to fight bugs with infantry guard. I think I might be a guard tank player now. 😢
some corrections and additional points from a bug enjoyer, invasion fleet as a 5+fnp Strat that gets used a lot. unending swarm gets reinforcements as a Strat, good on gargoyles as they can deep strike, and zoanthropes are 3 wounds not 4, they went back down to 3 at the beginning of tenth. and a thing to be wary of is the tyrannofex with an acid spray as you can abuse overwatch with it as its a torrent weapon (more of a threat to marines that guard but it'll do some damage)
"You never know what Tyranids are going to show up with," says the guard player. 😂.
Ooops all horses
Ooops all planes!

Necrons would be a nice one to cover next.
Awesome vid.
Noted!

'Expect, the unexpected'
More great advice from imperial Tactical division 😅
Great summary. I will add: watch out for exocrines. Probably the best gun the bugs have.

Still eould only consider if I had a lot of nids in the meta. Building counter lists is meh.

Me as a tyranid player watching this to counter my counters
Mordian releasing videos on weekends is the worst thing that could have happened to me doing homework
Purging xenos is the Emperor's homework.
I asked for this series but I'm sure many subs did. Thank you mordian! Tau next? Farsight!
I used a shadow sword and infantry to snipe his big bugs and mow down my friends hordes the other day, that was my second ever win and I tabled him
How about a tau know thy foe. We have had a lot of melee factions; time for a shooty one
Always nice when a new video comes out!
Ah yes, fill them with courage and hope.
Makes them tastier!
*NOMNOMNOMNOMNOM*
The Codex Astartes a states that to fear the mutant heretic is punishable only by death! For the Emperor!!!
23:15 Yeah, Zoanthropes are so squishy. I hit a 3 bug troop with FOBs, they didn't made their safe, and they died all 3 in one salvo.
I mean, you opponent failing all his 4+ is just bad luck.

I love these videos great for understanding and getting in the mindset of the other armies
The new dataslate disallowing reinforcement on battleshocked units is pretty big nerf for guard vs. nids.

Jokes on you I am your foe.
Tyrannofex also has a blank. Im courious to see if there will be more in the lists with a 55p decrease now.
As a Tyranid player, I refuse to own gargoyles. The footprint and tangle factor of those things are unreal.
My so wants to start playing this detachment with all his new hormagaunts…… does my basilisk slow the surge moves?
Have to max out platoon command squads so we can still use reinforcements on battleshocked units 🤔
With the point cuts to Tyranos and Screamers, Crusher Stampede might see more play
Tyranids temp me but 1 hord army is already straining
Mabey just 1 combat patrol
how would I beat a custodes army as a mechanized guard?
I’d like to see one of these on Space Wolves
You can get a flying hive tyrant with a permanent cover wave and stealth. Is this overly threatening? I'm gonna try it at some point...
I need to know how to beat chaos space Marines the most. I think I've played against tyrinids once.
Don't Zoanthropes have 3 wounds, not 4?
Great video gotta take notes lol
Let's go on a bug hunt boys!!!!
Make some ork videos
I Tried this against my Tyranid player firend. Warning this only works if your opponents plays as he should
*Screeetch!* (Traitor!) My detachment isn't mentioned.... guut...
Did you say half life 3 is confirmed?!
Obligatory Comment 🫡

I hid in the toilet at work to get this one
