It contains three previously released episodes (The Discovery Of The Tyranids, The Horrific Stages of a Tyranid Invasion & The Hive Mind) for those who have missed some of the episodes or who simply want to take all the lore in one sitting. Ideal for painting sessions, a commute and so on. Check out the video description for timings on the different Chapters and more information. Hope you enjoy the content my friends!
Serious question....why isn't the Imperium just gassing the hell out of them?...they are bugs after all. Orkin/Raid bug bombs should take care of it. Humans can wear gas masks.."they" don't/can't... really seems like a HUGE plot hole...
We Tyranid are not a threat. We are the mercy upon the suffering, the bleakness that is existence, the revenge upon the corrupt and indoctrinating. We are the good guys!!! Why, oh why can't you see this? *cries* :P
I legit thought that I was watching a documentary on the Discovery channel for a moment, I'm not kidding. First time coming across this channel, color me impressed! I'm subbing obviously!
The most dangerous thing about the Tyranids isn't their overwhelming numbers, terrifyingly powerful bioforms or sheer ferocity. It's the fact they don't underestimate an enemy no matter how small they are. The Tyranids will spend months, years, decades or centuries understanding everything they can for the most efficient invasion. Hence why the war against the Orks or any other suprise attacks they weren't able to delicately prepare for are the most effective at causing damage to them.
28:28 This is one of the very coolest works of W40k art I've ever seen. No color and yet you look closely and it's a snapshot of a dozen or more battles unfolding. Very cool, I want a wall sized poster!

Absolutely love this. I usually listen to your videos audio only so thank you for such high quality production. We're extremely lucky to enjoy such content for free.
I think the theory of the Tyranids being designed as weapons makes more sense when you think of how powerful and smart the hive mind is but how it also seems so ignorant or just limited by something. Beyond plot armor or warp magic, there's no reason why the Tyranids would not have knowledge or access to fusion technology. Fusion tech would allow the bugs to create anything they needed from hydrogen. They could literally consume all matter in the universe and not just the extremely small percentage of organic matter in it. Think of how many navigators the bugs have eaten, and yet they can't create their own Tyranid navigators to give them a huge advantage the Imperium and others have over them. It's almost like a greater power didn't want them to be to OP...or just plot armor.
Tyranids have no conception of technology at all. The Hive Mind can grasp cause:effect but it doesn't understand any form of science at all. It does not investigate or conduct research. Fusion reactions or anything even approaching it are utterly alien to the tyranids. It's like asking why Neanderthals didn't just use fusion reactors to keep their species going.
they already made them impossible to beat in the long run. I mean, if the setting wants to do an end-times they can just make them smarter. but if youre one of the "this is only a scouting party" types, which most tyranid fans are, the real tyranids wont be here for a while, and these are a second wave of low-grade probes.

I find the genestealers the most deadly because without the hivemind the Tyranids go a bit berserk and could easily die but the genestealers are independent. Ironically we may have possibly gotten a independent genestealer faction if the Infinite and Divine’s song corrupted their song. Or it’s possible that they would either devote themselves to the deceiver or as to keeping the vault hidden. Both of these could be very interesting. Imagine the deceiver at the head of a genestealer cult.
Tyranids: the unquantified conglomeration of vast ecosystems given a sentience , a terrible intelligence, and a singularly driven conscious volition that encompasses everything down to a genetic level.
Rule number one for a catachan regiment. Never acknolwedge orders to fight outside of the a jungle or forest. Unless it is to defend Holy Terra. Or demand they verify their superior rank by showing that they have a longer knife than you.

So is the Dominatrix no longer a thing? It was a giant synapse creature in Epic and a way of army building your swarm. A real fun way of making your army with hex’s containing units spreading out from them (of course you can have more than one). I guess the name Dominatrix is to spicy for GW nowadays. The Tyranid army book for Epic from the 90’s s a fun read. I’ll still use a kit bashed Dominatix as a Swarmlord for 40K. I like the harder core elements of early 40K. More informative, interesting and mysterious world building.
2:00 I would say they're the apex predator of the universe. Isn't there speculation that they've already consumed multiple galaxies worth of bio mass before arriving at the Milky Way?
How effective are radiological weapons that can destroy DNA at the microscopic level, and heat their flesh with energy. This video's quality is absolutely top notch, A ++
That was an impressive presentation. During the consumption phase of a Tyranid incursion, @Luetin09 notes, the Rippers that gorge themselves on biomass do not often disgorge their comtents into digestive pools, electing instead to hurl their own bodies into the acid soup to be reabsorbed in the ships of the awaiting Hive Fleet.
Well shit. 49:30 It kinda sounds like these hybrid Tyranid creatures would actually be the most capable of the invasion forces wouldn't they? I imagine they'd be capable of just breading the potential benefits of the secondary host race into these hybrids which would or should also come with a much clearer understanding of what they're taking over. Unless they're then taking the knowledge of what they learned from making the hybrids to then breed something more terrifyingly efficient at eliminating the host planet. Still, aren't hybrids typically supposed to be stronger than non-hybrid creatures when dealing with stuff like this? 😅👍
I've always wondered. Could humanity ever design a weapon so destructive or effective against the Nids that ensures they can't adapt to or counter? I know Nids avoid Necrons like the plague. Assuming it would not be tech heresy, could it be done?
They only avoid necron worlds because there’s usually no biomass. If you woke up at 3am, and the only thing in your fridge was scrap metal, would you bother even going into the kitchen?
You know. Instead of making fire breaks I wonder if just rigging it up so the planets would be destroyed when the hive fleet is invading the planet. So take their food AND a good chunk of their current biomass
Yes, this has actually been described as a good strategy, but it comes with its complications, the main one would be having an actual ship able to destroy the planet at that precise time. By that stage when the planet is being consumed, thousands of Tyranid bio ships are also on orbit. threatening any that would come close. Also, losing an entire planet is a tremendous loss in itself.

Funny thing is that even if you kill a bunch of their troops, they just throw them into the biomass pool and make more. They do the same to their living troops when they leave a planet after devouring everything. I used to play this army before I found how fun it is to play orks though.
