I'm an 18 year old guy and I love cats. I've always been a cat person and I've had at least one cat for the past 8 years or so. Seeing that poor kitten absolutely broke my heart. I have all the respect in the world for Matt and his team as well as other gets around the world.

You guys do great work. A long time ago I worked as a vet tech, A cat came in to be euthenized because his people had to enter a nursing home. I told the vet I would take him. So he called the family and they were so happy! They brought his toys food litter box. He was not a young cat he lived about 4 more years

I just had to euthanize my dog that I had for 11 years, he had a cancer, which grew so fast the vet couldnt see it. Just 1 month ago my dog was running and was healthy then boom he wouldn't eat it would be hard for him to breath. Cancer sucks. First time I've cried and his death hurts so bad. Anyway I'm watching your videos, because even if my dog is now in a better place, you can are helping and saving other animals. Keep doing these videos, love it man.
I had the same case 11 years ago. My grandparents had a dog for 15 years. Then she got a cancer on her belly and that has been spreading in weeks so there was no chance of help. She became ill pretty fast. after a week we decided to euthanize her. It was a hard loss because she was the same age as I've been then. Now I've got over it and the only reason why I don't have a dog is the time...

Also we have had this conversation before, most people want to see the surgery as it isn't very often you get a chance to see what goes on in vet clinics. As in previous videos a simple "skip to 0.00 if you want to miss the gore" would do.

You can find a median sternotomy. That is the procedure for accessing the heart for repair. And it's not for the squeamish. I understand some folks don't want to see that, but if the creator had a way to mark such videos so those people could know to avoid them, that should be enough. Anyone who is upset by viewing a properly flagged video, that's on them.

I adopted a 6 week old kitten from a local cat rescue and it had just been spayed. It wasn't any bigger than the kitten shown at the start of the video. I wonder if it is up to the discretion of the individual vet to spay such young kittens? It used to be that a cat had to be about 6 months old before being altered.
Healthy kitten can go through that at as young as 2 months old. I think Dr.Matt was concerned that the kitten wouldn't be strong enough to go through that with such big infection going on.
Dr Matt your an angel. You and all Vet's that do this kind of work. And to all those at TH-cam when it comes to stuff like surgical procedure and the like, c'on. Go get a reality check. Most of that protrusion on and around the eye was discharge due to the abnormal eye structure (this made it ooze at all times). All that Matt did was clean it off.
Unfortunately its a fact of life that kittens get eye infections however it's upto the humans to get the eye looked at before it gets anywhere near this bad. My family used to breed burmese cats and at least one kitten out of the litter would get scratched while playing and end up with a gunky eye. We used to wipe them with warm water and a soft cloth or cotton ball and some eye ointment. They'd be fine within a few days.

Only problem I have with breeders is...well, just what they do: breed. There are so many animals that need homes and get killed every day, why breed? I mean I can understand some things but come on. Even some full blooded animals have been found at shelters, why breed if people are just going to throw them away like garbage? Saddens me greatly.
I just adore it when kittens do that sideways jumping thing. It is obvious they have springs instead of legs. Plus they arch up their backs, point their tails up and jump at almost a 40 degree angle while still managing to go forward as well. Amazing and it never fails to crack me up. If I could be just 1/10 that coordinated....

I adopted a 6 week old kitten from a local cat rescue and it had just been spayed. It wasn't any bigger than the kitten shown at the start of the video. I wonder if it is up to the discretion of the individual vet to spay such young kittens? It used to be that a cat had to be about 6 months old before being altered.
Healthy kitten can go through that at as young as 2 months old. I think Dr.Matt was concerned that the kitten wouldn't be strong enough to go through that with such big infection going on.
Dr Matt your an angel. You and all Vet's that do this kind of work.

Well, he did give her oral antibiotics and cover the surface with topical antibiotics...
Most of that protrusion on and around the eye was discharge due to the abnormal eye structure (this made it ooze at all times). All that Matt did was clean it off.

In most fight aganist cats, they usually attack to eyes or ears. So its really commun in kittens to have eye problems

Unfortunately its a fact of life that kittens get eye infections however it's upto the humans to get the eye looked at before it gets anywhere near this bad. My family used to breed burmese cats and at least one kitten out of the litter would get scratched while playing and end up with a gunky eye. We used to wipe them with warm water and a soft cloth or cotton ball and some eye ointment. They'd be fine within a few days.

Only problem I have with breeders is...well, just what they do: breed. There are so many animals that need homes and get killed every day, why breed? I mean I can understand some things but come on. Even some full blooded animals have been found at shelters, why breed if people are just going to throw them away like garbage? Saddens me greatly.

I just adore it when kittens do that sideways jumping thing. It is obvious they have springs instead of legs. Plus they arch up their backs, point their tails up and jump at almost a 40 degree angle while still managing to go forward as well. Amazing and it never fails to crack me up. If I could be just 1/10 that coordinated....
