    Im not a mechanic but a diy’er. I know enough to be dangerous. Took my Honda to 2 shops. First one put an electronic tool on the compressor for 15 seconds and said it was the compressor. Promptly left cause I knew it wasn’t. Second one wanted to flush and recharge. Knew that wouldn’t work either. Figured it was electrical. Watched this gent and replaced the relay and Walah. Cold air!!! I subscribed my friend. Thank you!!!

    Man this guy on the video is extremely knowledgeable on honda a/c system. I changed my compressor, charged the system, still no a/c. I hot wired the clutch, a/c turned on. Turned out my particular problem was aftermarket (-)(+)negative/positive, terminals on clutch. They were not crimped tight enough from seller. So I used information from this video along with new heat shrink crimp along with disconnecting thermal switch from compressor (you can leave it hanging long as it is zip tied)+ 3 Zipp ties so wires are secure no dangling. Problem solved and I feel like a million dollars. Thank u for this video. Hands of God...

    Thank you so much! I have been tearing my hair out over my AC. The shop always wants me to bring it in during the morning, when it's not hot enough outside for it to fail. I think they're starting to believe I'm out of my mind. I called them to order the part and install it. I pray it will be the answerr.

    FYI - MY Ac would stop working when the car engine warmed up on hot days. Worked fine on highways though. Clutch would not engage after car was warmed up. There was plenty of Freon, Condenser didn't seem clogged but issue was AC coils when they got hot would disengage the clutch. When cooled back down would rengage. I bypassed the thermal protector and that also did not work. Very common issue on Honda CRVs.

    Y’all know how to check if your Low pressure line still has pressure? Just take off the cap on the low pressure and press the pin with a Philip screw for like a quick second. If there’s pressure you’ll here it releasing some, so if it’s not than you’ll know it’s either a sensor or a bad clutch. Some would say it’s a leak but the reason I say it’s not a leak is because even with a leak you can still add more freon. One time I inspected someone’s new used 2007 crv and the ass hole who sold it to them, didn’t even have the serpentine belt wrapped around the ac compressor..... so yea look out for that too.

  • @colinyeates8185
    @colinyeates8185 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you are sill reading this would you suggest possible problems when the compressor is turning on but no cool air. One pipe is very hot, the other is mild at best not hot still no cool. I had o use about half a can of gas and it kicked on No Problem but no cool. The instructions in one can says to fill until cold air comes out but on the can I bought it says not to overfill and it has a gauge but the gauged seemed to act weird. but after several rounds it settled out in the right area.. still no cool compressor stays on no problem and when you turn off the cooling it turns off no problem.
    I am thinking since it sat Unused for so long without proper levels that the radiator inside with the release of the compressed gas, is clogged so that none is getting released so no cooling. Your ideas?? much appreciated

    When you change the pressure switch do you need to empty the AC or is it just a heat sensor

    • @brianiswrong

    Silly question but these compressors are quite robustly designed and built. Common air con faults are mainly the clutch or the electricals…

    Easiest fix ever was, when I pulled out the knob in the dashboard. The 🔩 mechanism behind knob was lose. I tightened it while I sat in the passenger seat going down a highway. Took me about 20 seconds to fix the AC 😂. I found this solution on TH-cam years ago. It works.

      I’ve owned two cars my entire life, both Hondas, and both had AC and paint failure issues. My first one was garage-kept and the paint STILL failed! Like how? I was constantly bringing that car to the shop and the AC never did work right. The one I have now was in an accident, and the entire AC system was changed to a new OEM Honda AC. Both the original AC and the new OEM one…BOTH AC’s on the same exact car have given me issues. Why can’t Honda make a car with a reliable AC and paint that doesn’t peel off? I’ve always loved my cars, and I want to keep my Civic Si, but my God…I don’t want to die of heat stroke when it’s 110 outside and 85% humidity

    There was a national recall on an AC condenser part. If your AC is blowing warm air , it is most likely a FAULTY CONDENSER.
    I took my 2019 insight to the dealership , and they suspected a faulty condenser. Replaced for FREE WITH FREE REFRIGERANT
