I cook mine in Iron skillet. Use half as much meal as flour. Depends how big I'm making the bread I decide then how many eggs to use. Absolutely no sugar! I'm not making sweet bread or yellow cake. I made one in a cast iron skillet last night. I love a moist, sweet, and buttery cornbread. I used a jiffy mix for reference to sweetness and flour to cornmeal ratio, and it is really easy to make from scratch. I love both! And the mixture tasted so spot on that I mixed them together.. the thing that I like the best about mine in that I poured in bacon grease from the bacon I made in the oven, and I new it was fresh with no preservatives. Yum yum!! lol

Hi Gina I grew up with my aunt making smothered chicken in gravy for some reason i can't figure out how to cook the chicken i don't want it fried & blend the gravy together can you show a video on how to combined the two together
Gina, why do you use three sticks of butter. When you can use 1 1/2 of sticks of butter instead of three. However the liquid ingredients; such; as eggs and milk keeps it from being drying in the cornbread.

Which artificial sweetener would be best to use in place of sugar (and how much) because I am diabetic.
