My girlfriend's mom wrote a hit song and moved to Nashville. The first time I called long distance, she excitedly answered and said that she was sitting at the piano with Leon. I didn't believe her and asked to talk to him. Then Leon's unmistakable voice answered and said he was just trying to write a song. Small world.
I was working at Heathrow Airport in the early 1970’s, and saw The Mad Dogs tour arriving from a flight. Every single one was unable to stand, and was pushed in a wheelchair by airport staff. Rock n’ roll……….

I saw this tour when they played at the Capitol Theater in Port Chester NY. I had balcony seats, was 16 and in "Rock & Roll" heaven. Bobby Key's and Jim Gordon were also in that band. Rita's version of "Superstar" chilled everyone out so much...you could hear the swishing noises of people taking hits off their "cigarettes".
