Well I guess I should read that book too then. I can related to the abusive, controlling, hoarding mother situation. I'm glad to see you posting again. I hope you're able to find some stability soon (one step at a time) and that this dizziness episode doesn't return.

It’s nice to see you again, I’ve been thinking about you and hoping you’re okay ❤ working is such a problem for so many of us autistic folks… it’s just not meant for us, not in the way it’s set up 90% of the time anyway 🤷🏻‍♀️ I hope you can find a way to navigate your job that doesn’t negatively affect your health ❤

It's good to see you! Hm at times when I was at my most stressed I used to have these dizzy spells all the time - it was usually due to having the wrong people around me at work or whatever. Not good! I'm glad you're taking action to take care of yourself. Hm I hope you can end up reducing your hours. There are a number of people I know who have ended up working, say, three days a week instead of five and it's been pretty cool to watch how they're happier people now :)

@@vondelpete hi, yeah this dizziness was quite intense, i couldn't really walk straight :/ unfortunately going down in time might not result in less patients or less work, just the same compressed in less hours. So it depends on if i can really lighten the load and still work at my workplace.

Thank you for sharing your struggles with us, it really helps others who are going through the same thing. I am not in the medical field but as a patient, the most important quality that I would care about in a doctor is the knowledge and skill that they have learned and how they apply that in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient. I am not saying that properly filling it journals and interaction with colleagues is not important, but those things are secondary to the assessment and treatment of the patient. I feel that if you have the knowledge and skill required, lean on that as much as possible and always remember that you are there for that knowledge that you possess o I’ve everything else that’s going on. Also, if a doctor is giving me bad news about me or a family member’s condition, I would prefer that they have a straight face. I don’t need to see that they are trying to show empathy. Again, it all goes back to the knowledge and skill that they possess and that they show confidence in their diagnosis. Not sure if this makes any sense or if I’m just rambling.

hi thanks! i think i am also worried about my poor knowledge and skills as well unfortunately. I want to do a good job, but there is too much to know and learn and i feel like i'm pretty lousy. So yeah still am unsure if i'm fit for the job, but i'm still trying my best :)

If it turns out that this job is not for you, I am sure you will find something that works better for you as you seem to be a very intelligent and thoughtful person. I also had several episodes of dizziness at work when I was under a lot of stress, felt like a was going to pass out, luckily didn’t. When mental problems start causing physical problems, it becomes very overwhelming. Please take good care of yourself. ❤️

    Hi Ingrid ,
    Good to see you again.
Sorry to hear about your work and all the stress you are under.
I guess you the fact you realize how important those topics are makes you mature. These topics are always difficult to discuss.
You are doing your best with your all things going on. For the driving license I understand that it can be difficult to speak about it ( I don't have one too ) but you have tried many times and that's already worth respecting with all the sensory issues. I hope you can be kind to yourself.
It's nice that your supervisor, want to keep contact with you even when she's leaving.
I understand about stress... Been having some somatic stuff for quite some time.
I understand about mental health. For me it's the same if I simply can get rid of all the stressors ( especially administration) my mental health would a bit better. For me my problem is my life... I love my field but a lot of obstacles are holding me back...
That's nice you can afford to do part-time. I guess you can take advantage of that, it may help you lessen the load of work but of course it's up you to decide.
    Yes you seem really tired.
Of wow three cats! That's a great job ! You should be proud of yourself.
Oh nice, glad you got invited.
Oh really? Even residents don't have the guarantee of funding? I thought it only happen in research. Nuclear medicine is a great field and it requires a good amount of competence. That's sad she didn't get a renewal of her contract.
Oh seems interesting, looking forward to hear about that congress.
Oh London! That's seems lovely! Hoping it will be fine.
Oh that's seems really intriguing! Arabic and autism? Is there really a connection ?! I would be very interested if you can develop more in a separate video or in email:)
Also I've briefly heard about temple Grandin but I don't know much about her , what do you think about her?
Believe it or not I was talking about synesthesia with someone today! I like when we have this connection. That's nice! You contributed to enhance the knowledge about synesthesia, again kudos to you! It's heartwarming that I have you as a friend 😊
Thanks for sharing and take care of yourself dear Ingrid

hi! yes thanks, i'm sorry that you can relate to the stress :(
Haha yes the cats are named Figaro, Vanille and Canelle ^^
Arabic doesn't have any connection to autism. The author (a journalist who doesn't speak arabic) compares her situation to suddenly being granted a job and then finding out on her first day at work that it was an arabic newspaper. No matter how hard she tries; how competent she is, how hard she tries to learn arabic, she is not a native speaker and neve will be. So being an autistic person in a neurotypical world is a bit like having to fake arabic when it isn't your language.
Temple Grandin is one the first advocates for autistic people in the 80s and 90s, especially "high functioning" women. Unfortunately she supports ABA, Autism Speaks, thinks autism can disappear over time and basically only recognizes autistics as worthy of being listened to if they are capable of holding a job. She has been very influential and instrumental in advocating for autistic people, but her views are outdated now.
oh cool about the synesthesia! My next video i filmed today will be on that study :)
Yes unfortunately residencies require that the workplace keeps you on for 5 years and let you do educational things like month long placements or courses, which a lot of workplaces don't want to do. It is easier for them to just have lower paid temporary junior doctors. The reason they don't hire specialists instead is because they don't offer enough money for specialists to want to work there.
I hope for the best for the both of us!

      You are welcome.
Oh lovely names , sounds like she's French from the names. By the way just before replying to your comment I ate ' yaourt à la vanille ^^'
Interesting but I'm wondering she chose Arabic for an example. Is it because she really in Arabic country? Or because of something else.
I don't know if it's really relevant to choose Arabic because the situation with this language is a bit peculiar. As a native Arabic speaker I can tell you that even people who are native speakers will have hard time ( unless they are have good level) being journalist in Arabic newspaper because the Arabic spoken in Arabic countries today is mostly dialect ( which also different from one country to another) while the one used in newspaper is the standard Arabic which can be really different :)
Ok thanks for letting me know about temple Grandin.
Oh wow! That's really strange coming from a country like Sweden. It's strange that we don't provide for young people especially scientists, doctors and researchers the appropriate environment for working and they constantly worrying about other things ( like money) instead of focusing on their field.
      Hope so too .

@@sicparvismagna1294 yes i think the author was coming from a place of not knowing anything about the arabic language and i guess she just chose a language that is as "foreign" from swedish as possible.

That’s great! I think there is a good chance that it aligns with the INFP personality type (I’m an INFP too). Just be careful with choosing a research project and supervisor. Look for a project that genuinely interests you and is well-defined, and find a supervisor who is knowledgeable in that area, not someone who has the wish to explore research areas without the expertise themselves (this includes full professors and big names as well!). It's also important to choose someone who is nice, approachable and willing to spends the time to teach and mentor you. So maybe consider talking to students who work in that research group before starting. I know it is difficult to know all these before starting to work there but it can make a significant difference in your experience. If you ever decided to do a PhD, these will be more important of course but in general it is good to have them in mind. Wish you all the best 🌺.
