Hi Bayo, I'm an European but love watching your videos about Nigeria. What is best about your videos is the fact you always look very happy and that is quite motivating for me. How do you stay so positive all the time!? :)

I LOVE NIGERIA, but there is no way I would ever pay over $8 for Cheerios or any other cereal! If made correctly, that banana cake looks moist and good. Blue Band margarine is terrible, it doesn't melt well, but Nigerians love it...They have a LARGE selection, we will definitely visit this store.

This video has a wealth of great information. Thank you 👍🏽. I definitely have not experienced shopping at a market in Lagos yet. When I flew in over a year ago my family had already shopped for all our needs. Now I’m excited to experience a shopping trip to the market when I arrive again soon where we live in Nigeria!! 😊

Most of the groceries are cheaper here in Germany. Omo is extraordinary cheap, also peanut butter.. It's crazy fresh markets are costly here. I would prefer fresh markets in Lagos. A Nigirian friend will show me. When I visit Nigiria I want to cook Nigirian meals in the beautiful Airbnb house. Thanks for this informative video.

I absolutely love the costomer service. Something that got lost here in the US decades ago. Go to a Walmart and ask where something is you might get a stare.
Even at Disney. When i was a kid and you asked for the restroom, they would walk you. Now they might point in a direction 😆
The employees at this store seem awesome!

See how orange the Fanta is in Nigeria, the ones here in the UK are pale orange in color and don't taste as nice. We end up going to a Nigerian shop just to buy Nigerian Fanta. The prices are on par with the UK apart from cereal which was quite expensive. Nice video though, really enjoyed watching. Kudos to you Bayo.

OK when next I go to Nigeria, I'm taking an empty suitcase just for foodstuff. The groundnuts, chinchin and plantain chips especially. Good to see how much this things actually cost in a supermarket compared to the market but guess if you don't want the hassle of the market then the supermarket is a good alternative.

The wine section teeming with sales reps may actually cause an adverse effect. I would probably prefer to avoid that section altogether depending on the mood I find myself. I appreciate they are providing employment but they need to reduce the number of sales rep to an aisle. Just saying. Thanks for showing us the best items to purchase at a supermarket vs what to buy at a regular market.

Bayo..Bayoooo, Bayooooooo ! how many times did I call you Bruh ! ? ..all the nutritious native food items, even as well packed and presented, you were supposed to select and buy, you dropped ! ah !go back and buy that red akamu / pap oo ! it's made from wholesome millet and guinea corn grains and usually spiced with ginger and cloves { research that combo} it is so easy to prepare mahn ! Hot water ..das all ! the chin chin minimie snack, so much batter for you than the expensive pringles you got that's laden with MSG and other unmentionables.. .the Banana cake ?, delightful and healthy.. buy Ofada rice for local experience, and buy the Mama's Pride .. and as you said at the end.. continuously experiment with the indigenous brands, I know from experience that you'll chose to stay with them more often than not if not always ! they're non GMO or Chemical laden, all natural and mostly without harmful pesticides infiltration.. as you say.. Rise and Shine, I say , go forth to conquer !

Which government sent you to SPAR to buy fruits???? What about patronising the street vendors. Market price and supermarket are not the same in Nigeria, they are world apart.
You cannot compare farmers market, Aldi, Sainsbury's, Waitrose and Mark and Spencer prices.

I see that food is extremely expensive in Nigeria for a minimum wage income. I assume an average person can't afford to shop here.

An average Nigerian don't eat junk. They eat local food. Plus prices of some of the items are cheaper in regular store( street stores) not in a big supermarket like SPAR.

The people who does not have the means to pay that much would not go here to eat. There are plenty of bukkas and other places that are WAY WAY cheaper. It is also drastically cheaper to cook.

Just like the working class and some middle class don't go to Waitrose and Marks &Spencer to shop.
I'm shocked he didn't mention that there are no street without a convenience store in Nigeria and the prices are way cheaper.
There are Nigerian supermarket chains like NEXT, Ebeano and Blenco too that are bigger and cheaper. And for those that want a bargain, Balogun market and local market is your Costco.
Please let's put out the right information.
