This is such a hard time of the year and it's frustrating because I want to do some fun things with them but also want to keep it normal because the behaviors are challenging right now. Thank you for being vulnerable and showing the ups and downs because they are real!!!! I so appreciate you!
I was definitely feeling that in this week. We are way ahead of this video and I think since starting our countdown things have really gotten better! Some days/weeks are just TOUGH!!! It does make wanting to do fun things so much harder. But if they can't handle it, they can't. I think we as teachers end up being more sad because we know the things we can do or NOT do depending on the year, you know?
I love that you are so honest in your videos. I think it is important to show those weeks at the end of the school year that test teachers to the max. I think it is also important to show that sometimes balance doesn't happen.

It is so frustrating and tiring to see improvement in your classes behavior and in individual students for the year and then see it seemingly slip away during the last few weeks of school! I had one little this year who reverted back to previous behaviors the last two weeks and it was so hard on the class and for me to handle with the overall stress of the end of the year never ending to do list! My last day was June 3rd. Sending up lots of prayers for you during your last week. 🙏🏻☺️
do you have or could you make a video ( please ) of Chants that you use not call backs but like the songs/chants you use for kids to remember certain things. I believe I heard you do one for sentence writing & the measurement song . I hope I make sense I’m so bad at explaining 🤣 .

I want the “Kiss your brain” sweatshirt soooo bad, I just wish it was in more kid-friendly font. 😭
I have considered making some that aren't calligraphy! My kids know the kiss your brain and get excited to see it, and if they ask what it says I just tell them! I feel like my kinders are the only ones who have ever not been able to read it and even then they can't fully read anyways haha!
How was it decided who would be in your combo class rather than fully K or 1? I’m curious if it’s ability or behavior grouping or just the luck of the draw because of numbers. Or something else!
Good question! My school hasn’t screened kinders in the past. Next year they will. This year it was just random which kinders I got. For first graders, they were mostly looking for students who were independent and behavior played a role too. A few other factors as well but yeah!
Hello! You probably have explained this at one time but I was wondering do you have the students put their center folders in their supply/book bins or do you have them at the centers? Just trying to get feedback on what works for you as I am trying center folders this year. Thank you!

Once a week! :) Work is turned in Thursday, Goes home Friday.
