I must say, I’ve been watching numerous videos on how to do pine trees and your video is well explained!!! Thank you for the thorough explanation and step by step, it has been a pleasure to watch. And especially since you are painting on paper. Paper is the only thing I paint on. I’m glad I found your video. 😊❤️

Thank you for all the great tips on painting pine trees. I live in Ga now and have lots of pine trees in my 1 acre lot, I have some leaning trees and some that do stand like soldiers. Most of the pine trees or ever greens here in Ga do show the trunk, so I guess it depends on the type. It could also be that Ga is very humid and lots of moss and green mold grow on trees and drop branches and pine needles in the fall and winter. Thank you again, I will try your technique since I’m trying to get into painting. I love drawing by nature but haven’t taken a class since HS years ago! ;)

I'm not sure these are spruce or pine trees. If you walk in the woods & see these trees the limbs are pointing up NOT down. I live in Quebec where we have spruce trees, these are neither spruce or pine. But since everyone seems to do them the same I will try to follow.
Great lesson. I’ve been an artist for years just starting my channel on here isn't it wonderful this art family that we have if you get a moment check my DIY Art Show at home , thank you for your video 🦋
I want to make a couple points. 1- When painting, you should use a 3 shade method at all time. You start with your medium hue, then add the dark hue, followed with the lights and whites. This order is the " Rule of Values." Never break the rules. 2- Pine Trees never grow crooked/angled., unless it is the species called crooked pine. Then it is only the lower trunk that bends, but the tops always grow straight up. Your crooked tree makes no sense. Laws of nature. Sorry
I googled and looked at various photographs of stands of pine trees. I found several that included pines that were 'leaning' and not straight up. The laws of nature dictate that there are valid reasons for this, such as heavily saturated soil and strong winds. As far as the rule of values, I would imagine this is up to the individual artists. I've watched many art tutorials that have the darker value laid down first, followed by the medium, and lastly, the highlights. Since I've been painting I've found that one needn't follow strict rules and be trapped in the confines of 'should' and 'always'. Whatever works for you is fine but that doesn't mean your method is the one and only correct one.
It's a video that you can stop and start, forward or reverse...pity/Pat..is taking the corner and tapping back and forth along the tree trunk..hope this helpped..just practice in a large painting notebook like she is using..good luck. 🤗☺️
no .. .no ... noooooo .... i literally can do bob ross style tree's with acrylic's no problem ... acrylics dry a little faster, but there is no reason you cant do realistic tree's with acrylics .... this is nice for quick water color looking trees ...
Some people should just get on with the tutorial and just shut up before they make total fools of themselves. I turned the sound off after she said that one fan brush was "more natural " the other "more bristly bristle, like hog's hair" > Doesn't she know hogs (or pigs) are animals and have "natural" hair, called bristles? Give me a break.
Thanks for nice and easy tutorial ❤
Very good instructions. Don’t pay attention to the critics.. you are good and speak well.
This is a brilliant tutorial, so easy to understand and follow, doesn't leave me feeling bewildered and dazed

Have you ever actually SEEN a pine tree?

@@lynnquin8565 I totally agree with you! Everyone has a unique style how boring would it be if everyone painted by strict rules!
Pretty useful video but whatthe fuck does pity pat mean

I am a beginner and this was way to fast for me to keep up. I also could have used more instructions on the technique of the pitty pat.
You can always adjust the playback settings so that the video is slowed down to half or even 1/4 the speed.
Lynn Quin please tell me how to do that.
It's a video that you can stop and start, forward or reverse...pity/Pat..is taking the corner and tapping back and forth along the tree trunk..hope this helpped..just practice in a large painting notebook like she is using..good luck. 🤗☺️
"Pitty pat"???

no details in those pine trees, not realy good, a bit like in a cartoon
Also STOP CALLING IT EASY!!!!! WAY TO MAKE ME FEEL LIKE AN IDIOT FOR NOT BEING ABLE RO DO IT!!!!
Maybe talk a little less and show a little more
Some people should just get on with the tutorial and just shut up before they make total fools of themselves. Mehh...
STOP GOING SO FUCKING FAST! THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO ARE AUTSITISC AND CAN'T KEEP UP!!!! I AM SO SICK OF PEOPLE DOING THIS SHIT TO ME!!!!
You don't know much about pine trees, do you?
This is a very unintelligent tutorial.
Would never recommend this.
Its so tragic lol
