This was so helpful! It's important to add that the sensitivity should be higher than 0.00 when reducing lol. I didn't notice it and I was confused why nothing was changing.

Hey, C-Threep. I tend to come across a problem where I try to get rid of the white noise, but if I raise the dB I want to reduce it by it makes the audio lose a bit of its brightest and makes it more muffled-sounding. In turn, I sometimes end up having to leave a bit of white noise in order to not affect the track. I know this is a great wall of text, but I would definitely appreciate if I can get a tip in the right direction. Thanks!

Odd thing is, I actually prefer to hear the white noise. The contrast between the distorted buzz and melodic arpeggios sounds quite nice to me. Gives it that low production, garage rock sort of vibe.

Any idea where this type of editing is available on Cubase 5? can only seem to find a "Noise gate"
Hmmm...no clue. I looked it up on Google and didn't find anything. I've also seen it called Noise Reduction, don't know if that helps. But, a Noise Gate can be helpful in a sense that, when applied, it doesn't play back any noise below a certain volume level. So you could use the effect to only play back louder sounds and omit the quieter sounds in the background. It's not the same effect as a noise remover, but give it a try and see if it helps.

Yes sir. Any type of white noise can be mostly cured with that effect.

My yeti mic itself is the actual source of the background noise. Replace it or what? What you think Threep?
StillGotShit4Brains Really? The Yeti is known for having minimal background noise. If you turn the gain knob all the way down that usually solves the issue. Every time I turn up the gain knob I get a lot of background noise.

Pretty much every software will have the ability to remove background noise, I just had to pick one for the video :)

Something weird happens when I cut out all of the background noise on audacity. It somehow affects the pan and the balance between bass (who has the tendency to sound really boomy) and high notes, what should I do?
und9r Hmmm, perhaps just don't apply as much noise reduction. It can get a bit screwy if some of the settings are set too high. Without being able to hear and adjust the effect myself I'd say just mess with the other perameters and hit the "preview" button often to see if it fixes the issue before applying the effect.
