Excellent video! My Firman is a couple years old and I've never connected used it except for maintenance cycles and the carb is clogged from bad gas. I'm gonna use this video to clean it out when it warms up this weekend! Thank you!
Thank you for this video! I bought the 7500 running watt dual fuel generator last year during the Texas winter storm that caused black outs and it was a life saver for me and my family. I’m hoping this is what is causing my problem because I’m really needing this generator at the moment. Update: read your manual and tighten OHV as recommended.
This was an excellent video and I'm glad I found it. 👍I was in the middle of working on my 3650's carb and wasn't certain I was going down the right path. Found this video after seeing a couple others. This one gave me confidence I was doing it right and I was able to finish up with confidence. Glad the tech support number was in the comments. Might be something to include in the videos.
Best video step by step I’ve seen . And I would definitely buy new products from firman. I live on a fixed income. The people at firman are wonderful and patient got the parts on set date. Thank you for every snd God bless you all at firman.
We bought the 4000watt dual fuel. It started on the initial startup great. It sat for 3 months and now won't turnover. But will run on propane just fine
Hello. I have a small engine repair business now located in Kaneohe Oahu. I have set up with Firman for repair work but have an issue with a generator. I have ordered a new recoil to replace the defective one and a new carburetor. The main issue is this Firman 3650 P03607 Generator pull start recoil is hard to pull and pulls back almost ripping it out of your hand. I've adjusted the valve clearance. I pulled the spark plug and it spins over easy, but once the plug is installed it's hard to pull
Great video! Note for models with remote start, there will be an additional piece of equipment on top of the carburetor that seems to regulate the choke. Make sure you reattach the control receptacle on bottom of this piece to the brass post on top of the choke when reassembling the carburetor assembly.
Yes! I removed the air filter to access the pipe that connects to the carburetor (to empty the gas tank) and that little choke assembly came apart so I had to piece it all together. I hope I didn’t break anything!
sad thing is that you mention that we can call to get carb parts, when I called to inquire about the float valve spring, I was told I had to buy the whole carb as firman didn't have internal parts.
We have a fantastic set of instructions with photos to assist you with this. If you can email us at info@firmanpowerequipment.com we can send you the PDF. Our Technical Support team can send this right over. I tried attaching a photo and sending a link but TH-cam was not allowing me to.
If yours is a dual fuel type with the large fuel selector knob; Before turning the knob all the way to 'Off' position (using gasoline) , just stop short of the point it actually kills the ignition. Let it run until carb burns out all fuel there, then turn fully to off position.
Question for the smaller brushless generators. Firman P01202 1500 starting watt 1200 running watts. Does the rotor have an exciting magnet so that the magnetic Flux doesn't drain over prolonged periods of time while storing. If it doesn't have a permanent excitation magnet, at what voltage does one need to reflash or reflux it and what proper procedure does one use to do this? Does this model also have a capacitor that needs to be reloaded?? Does the drill method work in the excitation process??? Hopefully I can get an answer soon.
Thanks for posting this video. I have been having problems starting my generator. The spark plug is always saturated with gasoline. I go through the steps to start it, and when I pull the start cord, nothing happens. Every time I take out the spark plug it is saturated with gas. We dry it all out and replace the plug, then go through the procedure of turning on the gas, flipping the switch, and then pulling the cord. Nothing. Would the float be sticking? It's obviously getting enough/to much gas.
If your engine is running with the Choke partially or fully closed then the issue is still in the carburetor. It's not getting the fuel. Check the needle and level of the float. The needle should have a rubber tip on the end. These wear out when stale fuel is left in the carburetor and engine. Use good carburetor cleaner and a small wire or needle to clean out all the small orifices and the emulsion tube. Check your gaskets that they are not torn allowing too much air in.
The carburetor needs to be cleaned. The surging is caused by not getting the proper air and fuel mixture. As he described in the video , disassemble the carburetor and give it a good cleaning. Use an air compressor to blow out the small orifices and use a very small needle or wire to clean the jet and emulsion tube. Sometimes it takes a couple of good cleaning but as a small engine mechanic I have found that just one of these holes being plugged will cause your engine to surge or run rough.
Can you do a pilot jet cleaning for the Firman 2100?. The one I bought new last summer is running poorly at idle or eco mode. Pilot jet must be plugged
The end of the video spends some time explaining the correct orientation for the air filter cover however the cover orientation at the start of the video and indeed the orientation in the all the Firman pictures of generators and the product manual for my P03612 shows it differently. Please clarify. Thanks.
Allen. Your right. The vented side should go in the upper left corner..the same side the hose in coming in on the upper left. The clips will work woth no problem.
Great Video. I have a small engine repair business in Kaneohe Oahu Hawaii. I talked with Firman and they said I would have to buy a complete carburetor because they don't have rebuild kits. Also , my P03607 3650W is really hard to pull start. Any recommendations?
I have a w2000i that I used about a year ago during a power outage. I neglected to drain the fuel so now it won’t start or even fire. I’m assuming I need to clean the carburetor. Is there a video specific to that model I can watch?
We do have a video here on our TH-cam channel. If you cannot find it then email Technical Support at info@firmanpowerequipment.com and they can send this video to you as well.
How to fix a oil leak from 3550 generator. And thank for video how to clean a carburetor I live on a fix income. It was so informative thank you again.
Depending on where its coming out of the unit. More than likely it will need to sent to a small engine shop nearby unless it is coming out of the dipstick area or oil drain bolt. IN this case you would simply reach out to Tech Support for a replacement part shipped to you. info@firmanpowerequipment.com
Pls I bought a new Gen, I've put oil, but I've not run for 30 mins, before I discovered that it does not meet specific, it's grade SD not even up to SF or SG. What do I do now?
The carburetor float pin seems to be leaking on my brand new generator I opened it up to clean it and now for some reason it keeps leaking can you please help me
I have a problem with my Firman dual fuel model with the 439cc engine. For some reason gasoline is getting into the oil. The generator runs for a short while and then dies. While changing the oil we noticed gas in it. I pulled apart the carburetor and found nothing really conclusive but the aerator seemed tarnished although the holes in it did not really look clogged. I can not attach a photo to this comment. I can only think that the fuel is running very rich and as it does not fully burn, it sinks past the piston rings into the sump. What does anyone think?

You're welcome happy that it was helpful.
Very nice and complete video on carburetor maintenance. Excellent job. Thank you Firman.

Biggest problem for T07571 is there is no shut off. So carbs will get gunk up all the time. I’ll have to add one on mine.
Excellent video. Used the video to replace the carburetor. Clear and concise guide.
That's awesome! Happy this video could help. Let us know if you'd like to see any other videos.

Right on! Excellent instructional video. I hope I never need it, but it's good to know I can count on it if I ever do.
Of course! And if you need any help in the future, don't hesitate to ask.

Excellent step by step guide. Thanks
Followed these instructions on my T07571 and it’s running like new again
Do you have a specific carburetor that I could order on Amazon?
It would be really nice if you show how to remove and clean the carb on the inverter generator. The 2900W/3200W model

My Firman generator doesn’t have a fuel shutoff valve. Can I purchase one similar to the one on the generator on the video? It looks like it’ll fit.

Can we buy a factory carb from Firman? Mine is only running on choke even after cleaning, with new gas. Jets were cleaned well.
You sure can, just give us a call at 844-FIRMAN1. We stock every part for everything we sell.

@@marknye51.thefixitguy Thanks Mark. I'll work on it more.
Nice! Exactly what I was looking for
Bonjour, pouvez-vous me montrer les trois gasket s’il vous plaît
Is there a way to adjust the fuel mixture? my generator hunts when in run.

Was that the main jet, or the pilot jet?
Firman 9400 Dual Fuel Generator The generater runs but won't put any power out. Any suggestions.
Great Video. I have a small engine repair business in Kaneohe Oahu Hawaii.
I talked with Firman and they said I would have to buy a complete carburetor because they don't have rebuild kits. Also , my P03607 3650W is really hard to pull start. Any recommendations?
Great Video...thank you. To avoid cleaning the carb, can I use the drain bolt to remove all the gas or should I run it dry instead?
You can simply turn off the fuel valve and run the generator until it dies to run the fuel out of the carb.
Do you need new Gaskets?
I can't find a float jet for my w3300ir. Can you give me a link so I can buy one. Thank you.
What I need is the choke lever and needle for a P03607 208cc engine.
Any help would be appreciated.

"We're all about safety" but no gloves to protect hands from gasoline exposure.
Is it ok to run sea foam through the gas tank every now and then to keep the carb clean?
Yep, that's not a problem.
