you missed a sin, in the final shot when the burning head fell it was clearly empty. Also, its cage in a cage, cage-ception.
Well, but then Cage went on to play a guy whose head was on fire, so the law of conservation of burning heads dictates that Cage's head has been burned sufficiently. It's OK - they're covered. ;-)

I know the "Not the bees!" scene already gets 4 sins, but it easily merits another sin since a guy allergic to bees gets dozens of bee stings on his face but does not go into anaphylactic shock.
They do give him an epi pen afterwards so they could do the ritual in the Wicker Man. But there were barely any bees in his eyes. They were forming a beard around his neck!

He did go into anaphylactic shock for a minute because he stopped yelling and passed out for a minute before giving him the epi pen.
This was a scary-ass ending to a movie, those people didn't just kill him, they killed him in the most long horrible painful and suffering way. They revived him from being unconscious just so he could suffer more. And many of them were smiling, they enjoyed his drawn-out agony and suffering!

Nicholas Cage is a great actor in comedies. Like national treasure, that’s a masterpiece.
Now all other movies that are not comedies, somehow become comedies because of him.

It be funny if the movie ended with the island getting LESS honey than before.
They missed the main sin, which was the horrible transgression this entire movie is against the sterling original starring Christopher Lee. And the music in that one: wow. Creepy folk. A twisted little oddity and that burn scene at the end is truly terrifying.
I'd really say it starred Edward Woodward, but yeah. Let's not let his name die out. He was the 1st Dumbledore, after all.

The Edward Woodward character, the "Christian" is never the "hero" either, at least to me. By "terror" I mean just the act of immolation. I remember years ago reading an interview with Neil LaBute where he was trying to calm people down who thought remaking an iconic film was not only pointless in itself but absolutely sacriligeous to boot.. He basically asked people to trust him because he was going to make an awesome film which would absolutely respect Robin Hardy's original. Tell me something Neil, how did that work out for you then?

I remember seeing this in the theater I was excited because I thought it was going to be creepy and scary (I was 20 give me a break) EVERYONE in the theater, including my friend and I, were DYING. It legit felt as if we were watching an actual comedy.

500 sins added due to the fact that it's a remake of a really amazing film. The original Wicker Man was based around Celtic folklore and had amazing performances from Christopher Lee and Edward Woodward. The original is my favourite movie of all time, this piece of shit doesn't deserve the same name.

The remake is terrible, but the original film is a piece of shit also. The cinematography and general productions values are awful and bad accents aplenty (I'm from Scotland), and there's a bunch of utterly pointless and cringeworthy dance scenes. Not to mention the premise is utterly preposterous. Because of its status as "cult film" people blindly overlook all kinds of stupidity that others would scoff at in any other film.
I would say that the remake IS better because:
A) Production values are better and it's more pleasing on the eye due to much better cinematography.
B) It has more unintentional comic value.
Is there such a thing as a good Scottish accent... that anyone outside of Scotland can understand? ;)

Also iirc the general concept of the wicker man is mythology which the Romans pushed for, no evidence of the sacrifices have been discovered. The two movies just pushes forward ancient propaganda basically, and only really gets a pass for being so blatantly off because it's pagans we're taking the piss on.
Seriously though, if you wanna fake someone into thinking you have an emotion, don't secretly smile or be absent when he's not looking. You can still sense the movement of someone nearby, and "getting a suspicious feeling" is EXACTLY those microexpressions you are NOT leaving when you're faking it.

The original is much better in everything fitting together. This is a sad, butchered version. It COULD have been as good, but nooooope.
Extra sin: Bees _die_ when they sting. Enticing a swarm of bees to sting someone for a honey yield sacrifice is completely counter-productive.
