Oil-paper umbrellas have been passed down for 1,000 years. They are paper or cloth umbrellas originating from mainland China. During the Tang Dynasty, they were also spread to various parts of Asia, such as Japan, North Korea, Vietnam, Ryukyu, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, etc., and developed local styles in various places. 4 main steps to make an oil paper umbrella:
1. Bamboo: Select bamboo
2. Make the skeleton: cut the umbrella ribs and perform necessary technical treatments such as water immersion and sun drying, then drill, assemble, thread, and connect the umbrella handles and heads in series to make the skeleton.
