  • Hurdle workout: (1:40)
    2x1h-2x3h-4x4h
A big focus for me right now is to have shorter/quicker feet in between the hurdles. The reason I fell and am consistently running up on hurdles is because I am getting too close to the hurdles.
To help better manage that space in practice, we cheat each hurdle 1ft. Sometimes even do women’s spacing on reps. This will force me to get into the habit of shortening my stride.
After we threw shot put and then had a lift. ( 2:43)

Do you spin for shot? If so, do you think that more elite decathletes should work on the spin or keep it simple with the glide?

I think if you’re in it for the long game then there is more potential with the spin. It is also helping discus at the same time because they’re very similar movements.

Just a suggestion if you feel yourself constantly too close to the first hurdle out of the blocks switch your front leg in the blocks. If your usually start with left leg in front in the blocks switch to your right. It made a world of difference for me. I can be more aggressive out of the blocks when I do that.
