We beat Liverpool 4-0 in ETH’s very first pre season game in 2022 then started the actual season by getting smashed by Brighton and Brentford. That should tell you all you need to know about the value of the first game of pre season!

Extending ten Hag's contract was one of the worst things ever. Even if you are ETH in, you gotta realise that forcing ten Hag to prove himself this season and then giving him an extension once he does would have been the far smarter solution.

Thanks for posting. Did not see the game, so your input helps to have an idea on what went on. Pre season is for what it is, and you do not judge results or performance on the first game after a week training. But I would expect when we go on the US tour, the play will be better and look like something we want to see going forward.

You need to seriously wake up. The overwhelmingly majority of the players who played today are not going to see any first team action this season. That’s the reality. And most of them will never play a single minute in a meaningful match for United ever. The point of matches like this is to maybe find the one next Mainoo who can actually join the first team and be a real contributor.

Oyedele was good i thought. Ive watched him for years now. He's tidy and progressive with the ball as always but has showed more maturity/discipline in defensive positioning in this game than I usually see. New instructions from ten hag? Only thing i could add, he could have dropped more into a extra cb/RB to help with the build up because utd struggled to get the ball out in 2nd half. These are lessons he will learn. Real prospect imo
