Before I become a mom, I was so quick to judge moms, especially on safe sleep. After a became a mom, I completely feel for moms that try to do everything to make things work for their babies
Me to ! I’m a nurse and i was exxxttrrra judgy i have to admit... but now that i have a 2 month old i understand and realised you cannot be 100% perfect
Fr I have a one week old and I keep trying to put her in the bassinet when she's sleepy at night and she's okay for like 5 min then starts crying 😭 she only sleeps on my chest.
Same! I’m in the medical field and I would get frustrated with moms who couldn’t seem to follow safe practices in caring for their infants until I became a mom myself 😊
Preach my baby just turned 5weeks and started to sleep trining as I was struggle with sleep and did not want her sleeping in the bed with us as I did previously. But it was the best decision we ever made and we’re finally getting sleep.
Hi to all the new and seasoned mommies! This video is the truest representation of what a "normal" night looks like. My baby boy is 9 weeks old and he is just starting to stretch between 5 to 6 hours between feedings at night. What has really helped is to keep him on a routine. Babies respond really well when they're told what to do and when to do it. Our routine: 8:00-9:00 A bath even if it's just for 5 minites. 9:00 -9: 30 Last feeding of the night and he gets swaddled. When I put him down I make sure to tell him "Goodnight" to ensure he knows this isn't a nap but rather night time. And usually from there he will sleep anywhere from 4 to 6 hours. If he wakes up before that I just pick him up and try to help him go back to sleep. Tips: And during the night whenever he feeds or I change his diaper I try to show him as little light as possible because once he sees light he thinks it's time to get up. Also another great tool we've found is the Dr. Brown's pitcher. We prepare it 3 hours before the first feeding from the picture to give it time for the bubbles to settle. I usually prepare milk for half or the entire day. When it is time to feed him I just warm the milk to room temperature using a bottle warmer. It has really has helped to eliminate a lot of the colic and gas my son had that wasn't allowing him to sleep. We use Enfamil Neuro Pro Gentlease to ensure he is as colic and gas free as possible. Also during the day I do keep him on a strict schedule of feeding him every 3 hours to ensure he gets most of his milk during the day and doesn't need to wake up as often at night to feed. And I usually don't let him sleep more than two hour naps during the day so he knows the difference between day time naps and going to sleep at night. Hopefully this can help even just one mommy who is struggling! We are still trying to figure it out ourselves.
This is what we do too- almost exactly- with our 6 week old. Bedtime routine and bath at 8, in bed by 9 with loud white noise and a very low red night light. No pacifier, and baby sleeps in 6 hour stretches. We make sure naps are in a bright, everyday noise level environment, and are not longer than 2.5 hours. She usually takes her first nap in bed with me, second nap in her crib or bassinet, and third is a contact nap. Feeds are more or less on demand and bookending every nap so most of our calories are getting in during the day. This is just what we’ve found works for us!
Mckaylyn Caronna hahahaha LoL get ready! Hopefully yours will be a better sleeper but it can definitely be hard to figure things out when they’re this tiny!
Kayla Buell keeping my fingers crossed for myself and hoping it gets easier for you! I told myself I wouldn’t allow myself to be in the bed with the baby and sleep (I’m a heavy sleeper and terrified I’d roll on top of her) but after seeing this video I think imma have to be a little bit more go with the flow with that kind of stuff!😬 Hope you get more rest soon!💗
Thank god! Finally a realistic video of baby sleep!! He’s not a terrible sleeper he is just doing what babies his age biologically do. I wish there wasn’t so much pressure to have a ‘good sleeping’ baby. Well done for doing this video.
Good luck 🤗 you might also have a very good sleeper. My 7 week old only wakes up maybe once or twice a night. We do still have some tough night's though.
Now this is a realistic one..i cant stand all those "influencer" "realistic night with newborn" and they are all so fake and put on for the camera to seem perfect. I love this. ❤ thankyou.
Oh my goodness this video came up on my recommendations and I cried watching. I’m a first time mom my son is 5 weeks and this is him every night . He loves to fall asleep in my arms or next to me but I’m trying so hard to get him used to the bassinet . Also he grunts a lot and will fight the pacifier or take it for a little then toss it and cry so I have to hold it till he falls asleep. Thank you for showing this I don’t feel so alone .
Yess, I hate that I'll fall asleep while burping him then next thing I know it's the next feeding session. It is a hard thing to wing off of and it feels defeating ☹
can i ask how you are doing 2 months later? I have a 5 week old who does exactly what Jackson does in the video and like your baby only wants to sleep in my arms. I keep falling asleep with him in my arms.
I remember these times, they are sooo crazy! I was always so happy when the night was over and I'd take as many naps as possible during the day. Babies are amazing but so much work! 💕
Oh Kayla, you’re so strong! I don’t know how you keep it together, I was about to cry for you! Both my daughters had reflux, and we definitely had our share of sleepless nights, so I feel ya! You’re doing an amazing job!!
Paediatrics nurse...I'm going to go with mad tummy pains. The grunting and gurgling and the legs scream tummy pain to me mumma. Ur doing amazing. I honestly don't know how u do it.
Hi! I get what you're feeling mama, you are doing an awesome job. I have a 5 week old baby boy. He too likes to grunt all the time and doesn't like his bassinet. Try not to swaddle him, mine hates it, and when I stopped doing it he slept for more than one or two hours. Also he just mostly wants to be close to you and feel your warmth. Maybe some won't agree with me on this one but once in a while let him sleep next to you on the bed. You'll get a good nights rest and he will be close to mommas smell. But don't worry! It will all fall into place. I am with you momma! It's hard but we got this.💚 some times mine eats every hour. It may be a growth spurt.
My 7 week old baby girl used to make those same grunting sounds and do the leg thing until not even 2 weeks ago...similac sensitive and some gripe water worked great for her.
You know, if someone doesn't like this, they should just move on...this is real life happening...everyone is different...thank you for being honest and putting yourself out there...
Reflux and sleep problems are honestly one of the hardest things to go through. You are amazing and such a caring mom, Jackson is so lucky to have you. How you manage all of this and another child is honestly mind blowing. X
I know this video is older but I’m so glad I stumbled on it. I’ve seen so many newborn videos that show limited to no struggle and they definitely have me feeling bad. Thank you for showing that it’s not always that simple.
Mama, you are a superhero. Your patience and gentle approach with him are nothing short of amazing. I’m a maternity nurse, I work with hundreds of mummies and babies and honestly you’re doing so well :)
My baby is a "hands up" sleeper, and once we discovered that's what she preferred we started swaddling her with her hands up and she slept so much better, because she wasn't struggling against the swaddle. I'd also recommend trying different types/ brands of pacifier. My baby HATES the Soothie but loves the Evenflo Feeding Balance+ I don't have to hold the paci in her mouth like I did with the Soothie
"Because I'm lazy" literally takes care of 2 kids a husband finds time to look good produces the food her child needs and does it day after day😂 thats badass shit not lazy
This is exactly like my little guy, same reflux, grunts, thrash’s, fussiness. Thanks for sharing this real video , makes me feel not as alone for not having this perfect sleeper.
@@isabelrauch3772 when the sleeping gets better? I have a7 week la old. He grunts and squirm a lot to pass gas. I hope that it will get getter by the time he is 3 months old
Wow, this looked rough. I'm impressed with everything you manage to get done on so little sleep--taking care of the kids AND filming and editing videos, dealing with brands and the business side.
I relate to everything you did in this video!! My babe is only 3 months and she’s EXACTLY like Jackson. I’m so proud of you for making that hard switch to formula. I cried so hard when I did it. I felt like I wasn’t providing for her in the way I should be. The only thing you haven’t tried (that I’ve seen from this video) is maybe elevating one side of the dockatot so he’s sitting up a little more? I found that helped with reflux for my baby. Maybe just slide a towel or blanket under the side by his head? I know it’s not recommended or safe. But it helped and she slept longer periods. ❤️ Another idea is to put something that smells like you in the bassinet with him (also know this isn’t recommended or safe). Maybe a piece of clothing you wore during the day. much love. I feel for you. It will get better!!
Hey mama! You are doing a great job and you are NOT doing anything wrong! Some babies are just difficult and its important to remember that so you don't put all the blame on yourself. My daughter is going on 3 mo here and she is exactly like Jackson, so I feel your pain. Keep up the good work momma, you're doing amazing ❤
You should try the nested bean swaddle! My baby is 6 weeks and was having a lot of trouble sleeping until we got it a week ago. It is weighted, so it’s comforting to them (like a weighted blanket). We have the Zen one because he likes his arms up. He would only sleep for an hour at a time and now we are up to 3-4 hour sleeps! Also, if you can change the color of the nightlight, make it red. Blue and white lights stimulate baby and keep them awake (the hatch sound machine/nightlight allows you to change color). The baby shusher app also does wonders for a fussy baby! You are doing great, Momma!
Oh my love, you are my new favourite person on YT. I currently have a 7 week old reflux baby who is EXACTLY the same. Dairy allergy, makes the same noises, barely sleeps, same squirming around, struggles to take a pacifier so I'm there holding it... This video has made me feel so much more... Human? Normal? Acceptable? It's my second baby too so your content is so so relatable. I'm so grateful because all the other videos make me feel so inadequate.
@@KaylaBuell I'm going through the exact same thing right now with my reflux baby 4/5/23 wanted to ask if the nutramigen formula helped?I'm pumping and trying that one for formula(I don't drink milk &caffeine)?????
I completely agree with some of the previous moms. I had 3 boys and some struggled with gassy tummies and one had the worst of it. I didn’t have much help until my husband came home. I wanted to say having people who are willing to come over and help with things is a blessing. I remember struggling but reminding myself to stay positive and take it a day at a time.
I am a mom just like you.. 3 babies back to back. All grown up now and awesome adults. If back in the day I had a beautiful soul like you to help me get through every single minute of the day and night It would have been a true blessing. I am beyond proud of you and all the videos you post about birth motherhood and keeping it real! I started as a mom and wife at 15 and let me tell you the videos are extremely informative especially the birth and allllllllll the hidden little details some moms hide,! Once again my friend I appreciate every minute you give of your precious time... hugs and respect.
Evangeline Carrejo omg thank you so much! That really means a lot. I just try to share the struggles and any solutions I might find here and there bc I know it can be so hard!! We need all the help we can get! Thanks so much for all the support ❤️❤️
Kayla thank you for this video. I thought I was the only one having trouble with my baby girl sleeping at night. She just turned a month old and our nights are almost the same. I’m so exhausted every day. My husband works from 4am-2pm when he comes home I want him to rest so I’m with our baby 24/7. My husband does his best to help but I know it’s important for him to rest since he’s a truck driver and on the road. My worry is when I go back to work again and he’ll be exhausted with our little one after work. I really appreciate this video. I usually cry at night wondering what I’m doing wrong. I guess the crying comes more from being tired and exhausted. Your baby boy is a cutie and I hope nights get better for the both of us. Have a wonderful day.
Kayla I am so grateful for your channel I am a first time mommy with also a 7 week old and so many of the experiences you have been brave enough to share during pregnancy, postpartum and now the newborn phase I myself have experienced. I appreciate you being vulnerable and honest about the struggles of having a newborn, especially because people do not speak about how difficult it can be at times.
I give it you you from trying to do “what you’re supposed to do”, but at this point I would just use the Owlet and co-sleep. I feel so bad that you have to go through this momma. I’m seriously over here in tears that I can’t just magically make things better you and baby Jackson. Praying for you momma.
It’s crazy how identical my nights are. My son is 2 weeks younger than Jackson and he’s going through the exact same struggles. I found that putting him on his stomach for his day naps (to keep an eye on him) has helped a little. Also gripe water is currently working a little too. I’ve been told that this will be over once they’re 3 months, rn that feels like a life time away but this too shall pass. I just take everyday as it comes and I’m grateful for those peaceful cat naps he has because I know at least he’s not hurting! Thanks for this vid. Makes me feel like I’m not the only one struggling out here.
Thank you so much for the honest video, I’ve seen so many other vlogs of their perfect routine, it seems their babies are so easy, they are doing so great, everything is under control. It makes feel I’m the only one struggling and I’m such a bad mom.💕
Adorable baby… I miss the newborn days. My daughter is almost 4. She’s my one and only. I am honestly one and done. Yes, the newborn days are special, but personally for me and my mental health, I couldn’t do it over again. Some women can, 3..4..5 times plus. Not me. Lol. I’ve never been THAT girl that said “I can’t wait to have a baby”… matter of fact my daughter came as a shock and surprise 😂 I am so very grateful and blessed to have her.. she is a miracle child and a gift from God. I pray for her protection every day… I couldn’t imagine my life without her.. it would be pointless. She is my world.
I’m watching this while endlessly trying to soothe my 7 week old to sleep. He’s making the exact same grunting, squirming, snuffling, squawking noises, it’s like having a tiny wild boar next to your bed who somehow never sleeps 😭😭😭😫😫😵 I feel ya girl. Thanks so much for sharing, it really helps ♥️♥️♥️
I just had my first baby a little over a week ago. He was 3 weeks early and we’re still trying to get him to sleep in the bassinet for any stretch of time. It’s so comforting to see this video and know it’s not us doing something wrong
I am just now coming across this video because I am going through the exact same issues with my newborn. Both of my kids have had a milk allergy/reflux and your expectations of what things will be like just go out the window. You go into survival mode and I have done all of the things in this video, as well as just holding both of them all night. Thank you for a realistic and tough view of what a night with a newborn can be like. I am holding my baby while watching it and dreading returning back to working from home next week with this situation. But it helps knowing I’m not alone.
Thank you for the realistic video. No judgement at all. I felt so ashamed for a little while when husband’s best friend bragged about how is 5 weeks old child sleeps all night and he kept on telling me, “let him cry it out.” But I have decided that I don’t feel comfortable doing it until my baby is 4-6 months old. But, man, these nights are real. Good job. You seem to be a good mom.
I’m currently going through this! My son is 5 weeks old and watching your videos helps me with my sanity that I’m not the only mom dealing with all this! I’m a FTM so it feels stressful and lonely in the moment but I keep reminding myself he won’t be little forever and I need to cherish the time💙
I love your videos. You don’t sugarcoat things and aren’t afraid to show what is really like. I can totally relate because I have done things that’s not considered “right or Normal” and i used to feel guilty. My baby sleeps next to me in our bed in her snuggle me at night and in the day time she naps in a baby carrier. What I’ve learned is that you just gotta do what works for you. So thank you for showing us the not so perfect life of a mom.
My baby is the same age as ur son and was EXACTLY the same until I switched up a few things.... what I did... Stopped using sleepyhead/dockatot and Stopped swaddling (my baby didn’t like being to restricted and slept better with room to stretch out) I turn baby on side to sleep (sleeps within minutes) Changed formula to a ready made one not a powder one (here in the uk u can get bottles of ready made formula, it’s more expensive but stopped my baby grunting ALL night long and is comfortable now. You shouldn’t shake formula as you put air in it which gives them gas) Upped the ounces if baby is draining bottles. Good luck 😘
I have a 6 month old and never went through something like this with her. What you are going through is another level of difficult. You are so strong and are clearly trying everything you can to help him sleep and feel better. I hope you guys find something that works soon because that looks tough. Stay strong!
I wish we had our babies at the same time. My girl is 5 months old and was exactly like this and I felt like it would never end, and I also felt judged a lot because my baby would not sleep in any "safe" way. Everything is not that simple!
Megan McEwan it’s really not! I try my hardest to do what’s safest and having the Owlet on him helps a ton, but at the end of the day we both have to sleep somehow! It’s rough figuring this all out!!
You do what's best for you. I slept with my daughter since we brought her home. Really it is safe, but people are to stupid to realize it. In Switzerland we have midwives that come out to the house for 6 months. The midwife showed me how to set it up so it was impossible to roll over on my daughter. I tried to roll over with a pillow and I ended up hurting my shoulder. The excruciating pain would wake me up long before I rolled ontop of my daughter.
Agree! You have to find the best way for you and baby. My daughter wanted nothing to do with being swaddled, or with sleeping with me, or with even the bassinet. She was exactly 5 weeks old when she went in the crib. We didn’t even have all the cool gadgets 14 years ago. Haha! But I found that if I laid her in the crib and then got up with her one time to feed and put her back, she would sleep for 4 and 5 hour stretches. It was crazy! Turns out, the kid just wanted space and she’s still like that to this day. She has never been one to sleep with my hubby and I. Even sick, she would rather I sleep on the floor by her. 😂😂😂 Some babies just want space. Also, this too shall pass. The good Lord gives us the strength to make it through and before I knew it, I have a mouthy teenager. 😂😂😂 Prayers for you and your beautiful family. ❤️❤️
Kayla you are doing a super fabulous job. A big hug to you for showing a true picture of what 7 weeks postpartum looks like. I was literally fed up with the new born routines on TH-cam that are made to look so perfect. Thank you for being so authentic. God bless you and your family.
One more thing dear...never ever think, even for a microsecond, that you are doing something wrong. You are doing great and raising Jackson with so much of love. I'm sure he'll grow up to be a loving, caring gentleman.
Girl! This video is so real. I have a 3 week old and the struggle to figure out the late nights is real. You are doing an amazing job!! You’re doing everything you can for your little and that right there is love. Praying for more sleep for ya’ll. This time (for better or worse) will pass. Cherish the moments with your little. Don’t forget to give yourself all the grace! You’re rocking this mom stuff!!
I feel your pain. My daughter was the same way. Even at 7 months she wont sleep in her crib. She hated being swaddled when she was a newborn. It was tough. Hang in there mommy! You're doing great!
Wow thank you so much for sharing a real life newborn night routine! I know you must have been tired but you are helping so many of us by doing what you did. Thanks hun!
Bless your heart! Watching this is like a giant flash back to my 2 year olds newborn days! Same issues here is what we did....1st of all I gave up trying to get her to sleep on her own at night at this age (she sleeps semi fine now). A momma's gotta do what a momma's gotta do also allowed me to prop her up more for her reflux! We gave the Nutramegin during the day and I nursed at night. We used the Dr. Browns bottles for the anti gas thingy but we used preemie nipples this helped slow her down and helped the spit up. We also pace fed her to help support breastfeeding. After shaking her bottles we also let them sit for a few min and let the bubbles all settle (not sure if this helped her or just made me feel like I was helping). We burped her after every ounce. My bed was also command central at night...we changed diapers and everything in bed...why get up and get more awake. I am 10 days pp with baby #3 so I am also on the struggle bus with you. You are an amazing momma, just do what ever feels right and helps you make it though.
Kayla thank you so much for the rawness of this video. I have four boys and pregnant with number 5. With each one of them this has been my life. A lot of bouncing, walking and feeding. I so appreciate this video. Keep in mind I'm pregnant, but I literally cried during your video. It was beautiful in that "having a newborn has some sucks" kind of way. You're doing great girl!
When my little boy was a newborn he didn’t sleep well either, he would only sleep when he was on my chest so I definitely understand the struggle, he has always been a big mommas boy and just wants momma whenever he is super tired or doesn’t feel good. Hope things get better sleep wise here soon, it’s definitely not fun!
He is, it got better when he reached the age that we could sleep train him! Once he was sleep trained it was a lot better! Now he is teething so sleep is rough again but not as rough as it was in the beginning.
Thank you for sharing this! My son is 8 weeks old now and this demonstrates how our last 8 weeks have truly been. Grunting, gas issues, and bringing baby into bed with us by 5 am because we are just exhausted and barely surviving. It is getting better but thank you for this raw and real documentation of how it is with a newborn.
Lol "yes I'm changing him on the bed" as I'm changing my baby on my bed. I'm lazy in the mornings. My dudes cosleeper bassinet has become his diper and wipe holder since I've started bed sharing lol. No shame in my game. Rested mama = happy mama
Thank you, I absolutely love how real this video is! I have a newborn that just turned one month old and he will not sleep unless he is on my chest. It’s been so difficult and he has slept in my bed with me and it’s made me feel like an awful mom. But we do what we have to do to get through the night. Awesome video, you’re doing a great job mama.
I feel your pain momma i had to do a baby massage and bicycle kicks after every feed to get rid of ALL the bubbles before he would even sleep for an hour
I have so much respect that you show the hard times & then the smile from him .. I love that smile, it makes those hours of exhaustiion and annoyance worth it for that few seconds and a while after that ❤️ it’s very hard but also so rewarding
O have to say I'm glad you put that disclaimer in there.cause I an so sick of these NEW AGE mother's acting like they are experts on everything. The reason why I like your videos so much is because you are so down to earth and you just say it the way it is.
Hi! He sounds like my baby did who was a massive grunter. We switched him to a hydrolised milk where the milk protein was broken down. Also with bottles mix the formula in a swirling motion or with a spoon. You want as little air as possible. He might not like the swaddle either. Hope this helps and please dont take this as criticism just a few tips that helped me x
Every mama is just trying their best with their baby and eventually we learn what works and what doesn’t, and eventually they start sleeping and things start to feel normal again. Hang in there! This is just a phase of life that you’ll look back on and think how bad it sucked but you DID IT! my daughter was the worst baby I ever met lol it was a constant struggle but somehow we managed to get through it. Thank god💕
When he woke up again at 16:00 minutes it was because he was gassy, you can see in his face his tummy is upset. That’s why he didn’t want any milk. ❤️ Also he is so beautiful& you’re doing an amazing job! 🙏🏼
Oh thank you so much. My doka tot is currently in the closet put up. My son is 3 weeks old doesn't even bother with it. I got through same thing. Stop formula now breastfeeding only but I have no desire to pump. Good luck your doing great. Thanks for honestly it's helped with my newborn a lot
Hi there, both my daughters had bad reflux, this exactly haw they were every night. I know how hard it is at this stage, the night feels like it will never end. I found that the hydrolysed formula and a thickener really helped. I'm from the UK the thickener we have here is called carobel . You can get extra long bibs on Amazon too, we would go through so many bibs every day. Hang on in there it will get better☺️
This is quality content , I love how realistic you are. This was my daughter when she was a newborn and I felt like we were the only ones dealing with this .
You should do a video all about the Elvie pump (trouble shooting, how to, and pros + cons)! I’m really considering buying one here in the next couple months after seeing you rave about it.
Oh gosh you're a warrior! It's so hard because you're 'alone' in the night but you're not alone. This brings up memories of those first months with my baby boy. He stayed a bad sleeper but it got better bit by bit. I hope you can all get some rest soon. Sending a big hug and lots of solidarity in the meantime.
as i can see from the video your son loves to fall asleep when he's on your shoulder on his tummy and another position is ur hands under his head and on an angel, try to put his in the same way like on the side or try to put him on his tummy. another thing is the noises he make its because he's tummy hurt probably from gas so you might wanna try some kind of droplets that is used for helping babies to pass gas. keep being strong you will struggle at first but believe me you will get over it in 2 months or so..
Kayla, you are doing this whole 2 baby, no home of your own and soon starting a new chapter so far from family with strength, grace and love. I too had a sensitive baby- lots of tears, some baby crying and several formula experiments we made it. Prayers mama, this too will pass and Jackson will settle.
Giiiirl, I was you like EVERY NIGHT! I thought I was going to go crazy. I tried everything and nothing would work. Eventually, I started to break down so I did the unthinkable... I just let my baby sleep in my freaking bed. And I never went back. I have never gotten more sleep in my life. I sleep almost as much as I did before I had a baby. When he wakes up I just nurse him and back to sleep we go. Night time is like my favorite time a day now. My son is 4 months old now and he’s a lot more mature now, he’ll sleep more in his swing or Mamaroo. He sleeps more and more on his own now. He still sleeps in bed with me at night because it’s easier for feeding. I’m just now transitioning him back to sleeping in the bassinet/crib now that he’s older and more mature. Please please take it easy on yourself. I felt like I was failing because I couldn’t get my son to sleep on his own. And I was so hard on myself. Once I took the pressure off myself, followed my instincts, and took it one day at a time, I felt like a new mom.
Gabbie Logan I never co slept but I agree that as mamas we gotta do what we gotta do to get our sleep! I think she should just let him sleep with her. Eventually he will grow out of it. He is so little and perhaps just needs his mamas cuddles
This video is the most accurate depiction of nights with a newborn! Thank you for sharing your experience. My son didn’t sleep well at all in the beginning, extremely fussy but then we started Gerber sooth probiotics and eventually switched to the Gerber sooth formula which helped a ton. Not many people know but most babies need probiotics to help their immature digestive system especially a baby born cesarean.
Your vlogs are so helpful, cause in 8 weeks I’m getting an induction and I have a feeling this is exactly what I’ll be going through. Keep up strong mamma ❤️
I have a 7 weeks old son now and I totally relate.. its like I couldn’t sleep to always checkin on his breathing.. he is co sleeping with us as of now because he doesn’t like in his crib too.. and not just co sleep, he wants to be hugged like a stuff toy while sleeping.. you are very calm with yours..
I actually wanted to cry during this video . Like after all we go through ! Nature also decided we have to breastfeed. Like I already made it , held it, and pushed it out . Can the man who did nothing for nine months get this job
Omg watching this now, my son is 7 weeks and I’m literally going through the exact same thing. Everything you say or document, I’m like “omg do we have the same baby?” or “that’s exactly what I do or think to myself!” I’m just as crazy checking on him every hour or so to make sure he’s breathing too and am constantly tired because he’s not a good sleeper. My body aches from the lack of sleep and constant picking him up and putting him down from his bassinet during the night. I’ve done so much research and seriously I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong either bc some babies just sleep so well. I’m hoping it gets better. 😭 thanks for sharing. It’s nice to know I’m not alone.
i’m honestly feeling the same way :,) i’m so excited and i want her to be here but i’m also really enjoying getting my sleep so i can wait at the same time
So glad I came across this video. Raw and real! Makes me a bit nervous for when my little one comes later this year… but I rather see this phase from different real/honest perspectives. So thank you!
God bless you..... I’m 20 weeks pregnant, and appreciate you sharing a newborn experience like this. YOU ARE DOING YOUR BEST! You will get through this. This part won’t last forever. Keep doing whatever feels right for you. ❤️
Thank you for sharing all of this. My baby was the same exact way. You are not alone! It’s so so hard, especially when the evening comes and the nighttime dread sets in. I’m sure you have tried this but have you rubbed his tummy in a circular motion when he is trying to poop? And I saw you bought the windi, those really helped for us too.
As a pregnant first time mommy I am SO happy that you choose to put your life online and share information! As a fellow content creator, it can be SO hard to deal with criticism in the comments from people who are know-it-all’s 😤!!! Let’s stop shaming these TH-camr mommys and nitpicking how they do things! My daughter was exactly like this & it so remind me of our struggle days but now she is one year old & doing much much better...hold on its not easy at all but please remember it will pass soon & you are not alone...much strength & patience to you 💖
try letting him sleep with his arms up , my little guy at first loved the swaddle then began to not sleep so i left him without it and it worked instantly! 💓
Oh my gosh I could cry right now. This has been my life exactly. Baby boy was struggling with stuffiness from reflux. He also really hated traditional swaddles. I switched to the swaddle up so his arms are up and he loves it. We also sleep with a humidifier and I use a blanket under his crib mattress as a wedge. Thank you for sharing a REALISTIC video because it has helped me realize I’m not alone and that is so helpful. Keep going girl!
Girl..I’m right there with you. I have a 3 week old and my set up is just like yours…just trying to survive. He was up from 2:30 am to 11:00am last night. Just wide awake and fussing/grunting. Nothing soothed him. He stirs every 30min or so, the longest stretch has been 2 hours 1 time. You are doing great and you do what works for you!!
Nested bean!! If he responds to the hand on his chest like that, all their swaddles/onesies/sleep sacks will be a game changer! My little guy loves it. He will go from fussy and fighting sleep to out like a light in minutes ❤️
Oh hunny don’t worry I was the exact same 😂 Little did we know!
Our routine:
8:00-9:00 A bath even if it's just for 5 minites.
Tips:
And during the night whenever he feeds or I change his diaper I try to show him as little light as possible because once he sees light he thinks it's time to get up.
Thank you for this, I’m struggling with a 2 week old baby who doesn’t sleep a lot
Thank you so much for these useful tips. I'm a new mama for a 4 weeks old baby and feel missarable with the night time routine.
This made me feel so happy to finally see such a raw real video! I watched others and they never or show the struggle!
Finally some real newborn. Mine was screamimg every hour.
@@jocelynramirez9734 Oh my lord, heaven exsist. At 17 months she still wakes up a lot. Lucky you!
Lmao @finally a real newborn... for real
Okay
My face 😳 when I realize this will be my life in a short 4 months. Idk how you do it and function throughout the day with such minimal sleep.
Mckaylyn Caronna hahahaha LoL get ready! Hopefully yours will be a better sleeper but it can definitely be hard to figure things out when they’re this tiny!
I had 1 really good sleeper and 1 really bad sleeper hahaha it really is a gamble!!! But they grow up eventually so don’t worry 😉
Same here 😂 and it's currently 3.15am and I'm awake with pregnancy insomnia 😑 gotta be up for work in a couple of hours!
Megan McEwan haha here’s to hoping she’s gonna be a good sleeper!! And you’re right, it’s not forever!
Thank god! Finally a realistic video of baby sleep!! He’s not a terrible sleeper he is just doing what babies his age biologically do. I wish there wasn’t so much pressure to have a ‘good sleeping’ baby. Well done for doing this video.
I'm afraid I'm looking at my future in a few months. You're so strong!
Good luck 🤗 you might also have a very good sleeper. My 7 week old only wakes up maybe once or twice a night. We do still have some tough night's though.
Tova Vikström yea hopefully yours will sleep much better! I’ve just always had the terrible sleepers lol 😂
oh my gosh same here🙈🙈due in 12 weeks🥰
@@AmerikanangHilaw ooh, congrats! I'm due in about 8 weeks ☺️
I’m thinking the same thing lol.... I’m due next week!
Yes girl sometimes I don’t even want to sleep because I know he will be up soon to eat again .
can i ask how you are doing 2 months later?
Would gripe water help?
@@jillian7368 yes to some extent :)
I was going to ask if you’ve tried gripe water ? Or keeping the light more dim?
My 7 week old baby girl used to make those same grunting sounds and do the leg thing until not even 2 weeks ago...similac sensitive and some gripe water worked great for her.
Omfg if he isnt just the cutest baby I've ever seen!!!! Watching him on your chest, all snuggly and smiling all milk drunk just melts my heart!!!
You know, if someone doesn't like this, they should just move on...this is real life happening...everyone is different...thank you for being honest and putting yourself out there...
Girl! I found myself saying “it’s going to be alright, just keep going!” You just do what you have to with no judgment! You’re doing a great job!
You are so calm with him and it gives me hope that I’ll have the amount of patience and compassion that you have when my little one arrived ❤️
If not just scream into a pillow, it helps
Omg I don't think I could relive those days
"Because I'm lazy" literally takes care of 2 kids a husband finds time to look good produces the food her child needs and does it day after day😂 thats badass shit not lazy

This is exactly like my little guy, same reflux, grunts, thrash’s, fussiness. Thanks for sharing this real video , makes me feel not as alone for not having this perfect sleeper.
Same here. Grunts kicks and jabs all night long. I have a 8 week old. She sleeps with us in bed on my chest sitting upright, poor thing

Wow, this looked rough. I'm impressed with everything you manage to get done on so little sleep--taking care of the kids AND filming and editing videos, dealing with brands and the business side.
Those smiles in the middle of the night when your sooooo tired feel like a reward
Noooo! I hate seeing those... just means baby has trapped wind
Really? But my little girl does not seem to be in any discomfort. She smiles and giggles in her sleep.
You are sooooo NOT inadequate mama!! Babies are hard!!!! And I’m sure you’re doing a great job 😘
@@KaylaBuell I'm going through the exact same thing right now with my reflux baby 4/5/23 wanted to ask if the nutramigen formula helped?I'm pumping and trying that one for formula(I don't drink milk &caffeine)?????
YES I love this realistic version of a night routine, thank you for being so real and honest!! Proud of you mama!!!
Such a sweet video 😍 no one should judge a great mama who's clearly doing her best 💗
I appreciate your transparency and honesty being a new parent is a very challenging and you can’t always do it the way others do!
Currently 38 weeks pregnant watching this preparing myself for having no sleep lol but I am excited for my baby to arrive 😊
How's the little one now?
Thank you for the realistic video. No judgement at all. I felt so ashamed for a little while when husband’s best friend bragged about how is 5 weeks old child sleeps all night and he kept on telling me, “let him cry it out.” But I have decided that I don’t feel comfortable doing it until my baby is 4-6 months old. But, man, these nights are real. Good job. You seem to be a good mom.
I’m currently going through this! My son is 5 weeks old and watching your videos helps me with my sanity that I’m not the only mom dealing with all this! I’m a FTM so it feels stressful and lonely in the moment but I keep reminding myself he won’t be little forever and I need to cherish the time💙
My son is 6 weeks old. Ditto to your comment!!! Good luck with being a mom!
I agree. I'm in same boat
Stopped using sleepyhead/dockatot and Stopped swaddling (my baby didn’t like being to restricted and slept better with room to stretch out)
I turn baby on side to sleep (sleeps within minutes)
Changed formula to a ready made one not a powder one (here in the uk u can get bottles of ready made formula, it’s more expensive but stopped my baby grunting ALL night long and is comfortable now. You shouldn’t shake formula as you put air in it which gives them gas)
Upped the ounces if baby is draining bottles.
Good luck 😘
Yea, I feel like the baby is having trouble with the formula
I agree with that and I don't have kids! You do you!
Kayla Buell d Lo 5a
I hope you play this back for him one day and he appreciates all you did for him lol ❤
Jessica and I are currently working 6th September and we are in the process 8.30am so we will wait until the end is to confirm the
Sammie Curtis thank you!!! Hope your little dude is sleeping better these days! 💙💙
You’re doing so well. Such a good mum.
Also he is so beautiful& you’re doing an amazing job! 🙏🏼
The realest mom TH-cam video I’ve ever seen. Thanks for this!

Jessica and I are going to the wedding tomorrow evening and have a lovely
Birthday party 👍
Jessica and Lisa are away for the weekend 62 and 8 on 6vBrtuyiey🙏
Oh thank you so much. My doka tot is currently in the closet put up. My son is 3 weeks old doesn't even bother with it. I got through same thing. Stop formula now breastfeeding only but I have no desire to pump. Good luck your doing great. Thanks for honestly it's helped with my newborn a lot
Loooove your disclaimer!! I don’t know why people have to ALWAYS give their negative opinions! You do you girl!!!
Wooh ....
Girl....
I thank God for your patience. God bless our mothers.
Sophia Harper Exactly! Not every baby needs it, but if they do, it will make her and the baby happier. And it will make her life easier.
Gabbie Logan 💯 % it’s a tough gig being a mama
Sophia Harper The hardest gig I ever had 😂
Gabbie Logan oh I hear you! I just had my second in December and it’s hard all over again 😩
I’m due September 20th, can’t wait and also CAN wait for my little girl to be here lmao
i’m honestly feeling the same way :,) i’m so excited and i want her to be here but i’m also really enjoying getting my sleep so i can wait at the same time
I'm due the 29th
I am due in October and I can definitely relate!! I want to meet her so bad but I also am not ready for the sleepless nights lol
So glad I came across this video. Raw and real! Makes me a bit nervous for when my little one comes later this year… but I rather see this phase from different real/honest perspectives. So thank you!
Bless you sweetheart, I totally understand your methods. Air hug! I currently have an 11 week old.
TH-cam is TH-cam because of the authentic and realness of its creators. No ones perfect!
Keep it up Kayla! Your son loves you - you’re trying your absolute best and then some!
Due here in late April, so excited but I know sleep deprivation was sooo real for me with my first. I hope my second is better!!
I'm due in 3 weeks and have watched all of your videos from the start of my pregnancy. You're my mama inspiration!
It’s the staring at him part for me 😂😂😂😂 that’s me instead of sleeping myself 😩
Oh my gosh I could cry right now. This has been my life exactly. Baby boy was struggling with stuffiness from reflux. He also really hated traditional swaddles. I switched to the swaddle up so his arms are up and he loves it. We also sleep with a humidifier and I use a blanket under his crib mattress as a wedge. Thank you for sharing a REALISTIC video because it has helped me realize I’m not alone and that is so helpful. Keep going girl!
It’s so sad that you had to make that disclaimer at the the beginning to shoo the mom shakers away!
