    To answer the (two year old) question from a mathematical standpoint, TCE gives a a 1.55 multiplier to most weapons on critical hits. Therefore the true multiplier is 1.55 times affinity. That always comes down to 1 cause otherwise you made the wrong build but lets go with a 1.5 multiplier so its easier. TEA gives a flat 150 element for 45 s after about 5-7 hits. The active time will probably depend on the weapon but if it was up the entire time the multiplier would be 150/Weapon Element + 1. Therefore if the weapon element is more than 300 TCE is better and if its below TEA has the potential to outclass it. Since 300 element is quite low and most weapons should have ~400 with element attack up TCE is generally the better option.
    This is all for weapons with element though. If there is a high hidden element, TEA will bring it out. Since TCE does not have the ability to do that, its not even worth talking about in these circumstances.
    EA is really crappy though, it only gives 60 element which is outclassed by TCE if the weapon has more than 110 element and by CE if the weapon has more than 170 element.
    So yeah in conclusion TCE and CE is superior and TEA shoud only be used for weapons with a hidden element.
    It might be worth getting TEA if you don't have Silverlos yet and want maximum elemental damage. TEA is outclassed by CE if the weapon has 430+ element.

    Crit element better for axe mode. Higher base element better for saed. For negative affinity weapons go for Nam’s set. For higher natural crit, go for true crit.

    In all honesty this is a bad showcase, you're using the same weapon while Nami's armor set definitely get more of a boost since weapons with hidden generally have better stats than none hidden version.

    Bad Namielle Set up.
    You could fit Weakness Exploit & Critical Boost upon it.
    A test with these for Namielle Set v.s. that TCE Build would suffice.

      I'm not that good at making builds, and this was honestly an attempt to win an argument on Reddit. Someone told me TCE was worse than TEA, so I did this vid. It was a very horrible way to showcase them, but I still stand by TCE>TEA. TEA is even worse if we take Safi-Jiva set into the equation, cuz Safi Set bonus gives both Elemental and Affinity for free (the health loss is negligible with a health augment).
      Namielle's other problem is that the skills on the armor itself are shit (except I guess for DB) so you have to contend with worthless skills and few gem slots in order to get something that is worse than Safi (which has amazing skills and gem slots).

      Been awhile since I looked in on the MHWI meta stuff, but I'd imagine Safi-Armor is still the best set for Elemental Builds. That's how I defeated Fatalis...and then afterwards I think Raw is the strongest setup for Savage Axe (Fatalis CB+Armor).

      @@KPlaysHere Close. Elemental damage doesn't crit by default. Critical element doesn't boost ele crit damage, it ALLOWS element damage to crit.

    • @KPlaysHere
      @KPlaysHere 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mattiet8904 I know that, 'boosts elemental damage on crits' was referring to the fact that critical hits activate the skill effect. I was pointing out how weird that other person's statement was about element not being able to crit so Silverlos--aka a Crit Element set--was supposedly useless. Sometimes you run into players that'll only look at the numbers on the stats screen and completely ignore the fact that multipliers can potentially boost them by a lot more than just adding on flat amounts like the Namielle set does.

      @@KPlaysHere Gotcha, I read your comment wrong and misunderstood the point you were trying to make. And yeah, the amount of misinformation that gets thrown around is pretty frustrating, but to play devil's advocate, it's not like capcom makes it easy on us. It bugs me that things like elements and status not being able to crit baseline isn't advertised more. You basically have to do research outside the game to know stuff like that, and I don't expect the average player to put that level of effort into the game.
