  • Did you buy an Automatic egg turning 6, 9, or 12 Egg Incubator off Amazon? Did the instructions SUCK?!
    In today's video we will walk you through how to use one of the off-brand 12 egg incubators with automatic turners. They are a great deal on Amazon but man do the instructions SUCK! Once you learn how to use it you will be hatching eggs in no time without spending a fortune on a fancy incubator.
    We will lead you through setting up the turning tray, difference in hatching floor, and how to add water. We will go through how we maintain the humidity and temperature. This is our favorite cheap incubator, but it needs a little finesse to make it work perfectly every time. We have hatched dozens of chicken and quail eggs in the exact incubator shown.
    The branding on this incubator changes regularly but you may have bought this automatic 6, 9, 12 egg incubator off amazon under the name of Janoel, Vivohome, HBLife, HatchMate, Good Mother, or DirectWholesaler16. Don't fret, these are all the same machine and with a few helpful hints you'll be hatching your own chickens, quail, or ducks in no time!
    If you are interested in buying one of these incubators here is the one we have (Affiliate links): amzn.to/2ZmRn7C
    Thermometer/Hygrometer we suggest:
    Govee shown in the video: amzn.to/3dhP1PY
    Tempo not shown in the video but we also use: amzn.to/3jR7tQw

    The hole on the top is a vent only.
    Not to add water into it.

    I purchased the exact one on Amazon, it had worked for Me! No complains, I do believe you purchased the European model, The one I bought now says Farenheit, buy these are worth to buy 2 for more egg hatching, they Work! Also the hole on top is a vent and not a water refill, lifting the lid to pour water in is equivelant to a hen whe. She gets up to eat and drink water, but also yes the price went Up!

    Hi and greetings from Germany! I do have the same incubator and it's working fine for now, its only day 2 but i do have a question. I have a humidity reader inside, and when i pour in 100ml of water, the humidity is really high like 80% :o now i'm adding like 10ml only every 7h and humidity is 50%..do you think the reader is broken?

    • @reaganskopp
      @reaganskopp  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The reader in the incubator never really worked that well for me. I use a separate one and also I use a dry hatch method so I'm not terribly concerned over the day to day humidity.

      I just put the equivalent of a kids medicine cup in at first. Then replenish when dry. Then I do it again when I put them on lockdown. I’d encourage you to get a Hygrometer. If you live somewhere humid you may not even need water except at hatch. Your environment impacts the incubator.

    Thank you so much for this video! I’m hatching chicken eggs with my kindergarten class with this exact machine.
    This is my first time and I’m freaking out. Do I need to change the temp during incubation time? The instructions say I should change it but videos say to leave it the same? Please help 😂

    • @reaganskopp
      @reaganskopp  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do you have a second thermometer inside the machine? I recommend it. Then you can make sure that the eggs stay around 99.5. Don’t panic! Remember a chicken gets off the nest a couple times a day for up to 15 minutes at a time. A little variation (not going too high) will be fine. I keep mine 99.5 and around 50% humidity (sometimes less) until near hatch. Then I try for 65%-75% humidity at hatch. I don’t change the temperature. Hope that helps!

    • @reaganskopp
      @reaganskopp  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ashleydoudna4854 you probably aren’t going to like this answer but: I pour like a medicine cups worth of water in the bottom. Then when that is all gone I do it again. Then I put a generous dose of water (you’ll see moisture on a bit of the plastic) maybe two kids medicine cups worth at day 19 when I take the turners out and then DO NOT OPEN until they are done hatching. It will be hard to do. You will want to open it. But don’t. Hatching is really the only time you want to keep the temperature and humidity real steady.

      Yep. While I “dryish” hatch I am usually hatching in early spring and running very dry oil heat. I add a little water when it gets real dry and right before hatch.
