    Great job, Jonny! If a piano player were to go through all your videos and practice what you teach, they would become a very good piano player. Really appreciate what you are doing for youtube audiences!

    That's great, you're a real good teacher. The blues is still a great school, specially when practiced with real defined and dinamic riffs on left hand, so you can feel free to develop endlessly your improvisational skills so.... Will it be possible for you to make a video on a dictionary of legendary rhythm blues riffs and.... And some of Be Bop blues-jazz styles and progressions of gospel...???
    Thanx very much in advance...!!!

    Jonny, fantastic teaching method... I can enjoy learning AND playing something new every time,,,, it's not about all this theory... its "let get going" style. Thank you! One comment... and I'm sure its the software since it looks like everyone uses it... the top keyboard with the highlighted notes as they are played... many a time I have to pause the vid to look carefully at the cord/notes... too much color - too much information to ingest. I truly believe that instead of filling the whole key with color as it is played, simple round DOTS - the size of a finger tip would be MUCH easier to follow. Maybe there is a way to try this?

    Another great lesson. I’ve never been happy with the way my blues piano sounds. I’m not sure what I’m missing. I think that combining minor and major blues scales really adds a nice flavor to the music. I was wondering if you would consider doing blues piano lessons in other keys such as E, A, F, and G. These seem to be very popular keys when playing with other instruments. Although the concepts are the same, the licks can be different. For example you can’t always slide from the flatted third to the third, etc.

So could you please help me out on how you do that

    Hey Jonny, good work as always, thank you! But I think the major blues scale in the 5th bar - chord F7 - doesn't fit well because of the e in your right hand, which is the maj7 to F. What do you think? Best wishes from Germany, Michael

    Hi this is really helpful for me to practice improvisation ! thank you ! anyway i have one question.
    could i use use (for example) C those scale in songs rooted on C ? or i can use several different pentatonic scale depended on each chords.
    for example, songs C - F - G - F then i can use C / F / G pentatonic scale or only C pentatonic scale ?
    It will be very very very helpful for me to understand improvisation.
    Best
    Thank you

      For each chord you can use b3 slide into 3rd, 5th 6th, b7th and 9th I IV V /C F G ends up being pretty much same as both major minor pentatonic of each but more useful to think about in this extended arpeggio chord context in my opinion

    Would there be any reasons to do the Cm blues scale with the fingering: 1 2 3 4 1 3, instead of: 1 3 1 3 1 3. I found that I can do the scale faster using the first fingering. Would training my fingers using the alternating 1 3 1 3 1 3 fingering be better for developing smoother runs?

    • @Anonymous-rm5jx
      @Anonymous-rm5jx 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the 131313 is far better and smoother in my own experience , also it is more narural i guess .
      But For the fingering in any genre of music i always learn the common fingering than change it to my preference.
      Good luck anyway
