I'm a HUGE fan of fishing those rocky, turbulent shallows, where ever I'm fishing. Yeah, I lose some fish, and get busted off here and there, but this video proves those areas are obviously perfect for the diverse species that hunt there. That snook was a TANK! I continue to love your content....

Jansen, I've seen you fish this area before.. it's a honey spot alright! What a nice variety (jack, snapper and snook) too. I was "sweatin-it" watching the rock area casts thinking to myself... he has to be fishing 40-60# braid because otherwise he's going to get smoked or busted off.. Nice job on landing those quality fish.. that last Snook was beautiful (another bucket list item for sure). Well done!!

I should be here in August Randy, shipping is expensive, it's better to put it in a PVC tube and check it as luggage. The travel rods fit in most suit cases.

Hello I bought a rod from your shop in Dec and caught a small rooster. I want to come back in July and catch a big one. Should I plan my week trip to start at the full moon/new moon so that the tides are decreasing in intensity during my stay? Or the opposite?

I us a lot of Shimano Brandon, Daiwa is good as well, The one in this video is the Stella 14.000, their Twin Power 14.000 is pretty much identical for half. I use those because of their super high speed retrieve. I release a lot of fish but I would normally keep some of the fish you saw in this video but we live in a world now where you can't kill anything anymore......Its not worth the negative feedback when I'm shooting videos. I eat pretty much everything except rooster fish, jacks and skipjacks.
@@StephenJansen1 Sad state of affairs when an omnivore is shamed into NOT taking a fish home for the table based on "negative views" That's too bad. And skipjack tuna is delicious if served raw... or lightly seared IMHO.
@@stinkyfungus Well, I do these videos to promote my brand, if killing fish results in to bad sales, then there is no reason to go thru all the trouble of doing them. I hunt and fish most days without a cameraman and always have plenty of fish and venison in my freezer, so I really don't care. Never tried skipjack that way but I refer to the jack crevalle as bad eating, they taste real fishy.
We have rods available starting around 50 dollars for a combo, trail rods start at 59 dollars up to about 250, depending on the material and the amount of pieces it breaks down. We have a lot of tackle in stock, it's best you swing by one of our stores and we can help pick the right rod for you.

Hey Steve great video! I was wondering what size and brand of reel you use? Also was wondering what species of fish you prefer to keep and cook?
I us a lot of Shimano Brandon, Daiwa is good as well, The one in this video is the Stella 14.000, their Twin Power 14.000 is pretty much identical for half. I use those because of their super high speed retrieve. I release a lot of fish but I would normally keep some of the fish you saw in this video but we live in a world now where you can't kill anything anymore......Its not worth the negative feedback when I'm shooting videos. I eat pretty much everything except rooster fish, jacks and skipjacks.

And skipjack tuna is delicious if served raw... or lightly seared

@@stinkyfungus Well, I do these videos to promote my brand, if killing fish results in to bad sales, then there is no reason to go thru all the trouble of doing them. I hunt and fish most days without a cameraman and always have plenty of fish and venison in my freezer, so I really don't care. Never tried skipjack that way but I refer to the jack crevalle as bad eating, they taste real fishy.

We have rods available starting around 50 dollars for a combo, trail rods start at 59 dollars up to about 250, depending on the material and the amount of pieces it breaks down. We have a lot of tackle in stock, it's best you swing by one of our stores and we can help pick the right rod for you.
