    Hello everyone, please note that with the recent update, there is no need to recap after withdrawing the prescribed dose. It is advisable to withdraw close to your patient and go ahead to Administer after x checking the identity & Allergy.

    What do you mean by precipitate in the insulin, also about cleaning the site for subcutaneous injection are we meant to clean the site or verbalise physically clean. Thank you

      Hi, precipitate means any form of deposit. Cleaning the site is fine, but. you are not cleaning the site, then it's ok to verbalise that the site is clean.

    Currently the assessor tells you before hand that all equipment is clean and ready for use.

    Why do we not break to top to draw the medication? You said you only do that when it is IM injection. Any reason for that?

    • @unifiedosce5580
      @unifiedosce5580  ปีที่แล้ว

      In subcutaneous it is considered you are withdrawing from a vial. But for IM, most common medicine to administer is Hydroxicobalamin comes in Ampoule .

    Hi I’m ELVIS
    I heard the assessor say the sugar level is okay when the candidate asked of the sugar level. Pls my question is that why would we be administering insulin to a patient with a normal blood glucose . I was expecting the assessor to state that the glucose level of above the the normal range so that it will be okay for us to proceed with administration of insulin. Any clarifications pls

      Hi Elvis, if there's one thing I know in NHS practice, you don't skip insulin for a normal level blood sugar. Otherwise, the sugar lever will rise up later and may then pose problems. Remember that the patient will eat if you administer or not. If you have administered it, it will sustain it at normal level. Let's wait for the tutor though.

      In addition to the previous answer, a normal blood sugar means it is okay for you to administer the insulin, it means the patient is not having low sugar level, some assessor will answer you that the blood sugar is within therapeutic range, that also means that the sugar level is not too low for you to skip the insulin.

    Are you not supposed to withdraw at eye level?

    Can you please tell what will do if any airbubbles present while preparing medication? It may interfere to prepare the correct dosage..Also, there are two types of insulin syringes.. One side marking syringe and two side marking syringe.. It would be better if you could give an idea of both of these syringes..

    • @unifiedosce5580
      @unifiedosce5580  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is advisable to withdraw a little more than the required dose(but you do not need to verbalise this) , prime and expel bubbles to get the required dose before confirming with Examiner.

    • @srr421
      @srr421 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@unifiedosce5580 okay.. However, there is a slight chance to get incorrect dose while prime the needle as we push the plunger it may go below the required unit. For example, if the required dose is 14 units, we can take extra 1ml to prime the needle, but while pushing the plunger sometimes accidentally it may go below 14 units and what will do if the candidate get 13 or 12 units?

      Hi, it is important to be careful to have the correct dose, incorrect dose is not acceptable.

      @@unifiedosce5580 Can we tap the syringe to expel the airbubbles out after withdrawing medication from the vial?

    • @unifiedosce5580
      @unifiedosce5580  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@srr421 It's advisable to just withdraw the plunger a bit and then expel the air bubbles rather than tapping.

    I just want to confirm if subcutaneous injection is angle 90 or 45

    • @unifiedosce5580
      @unifiedosce5580  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, at 90-degree angle, because of the way the needle is structured.
