Nice size plant!🌿🙂 I enjoy them too! The one in my 40breeder tank is half the size of yours. I didn't know about the dormant growth stage, that's helpful. I may turn the heater down a tad and try to keep the tank a bit cooler. I have cherry shrimp grazing on mine as well. Peace ✌ 🤪🌿💦
Oh you have Lace Plant too Monica? Sweet! I'm not sure what else you have in that tank but I'm sure your shrimp won't mind the temperature going down a couple of degrees, probably appreciate it in fact. How cool is it watching them explore the leaves of the Madagascar by the way? It's like a match made in an aquarium keeper's paradise.
Great video very informative... Can I keep a madagascar laceplant in my 80 degree Discus Tank? I have seen videos on here that people have the plant in discus tank. They also say if you give it root tabs it wont go dormant?
Sure. It prefers cooler water I find but 80 degrees is within the range it should cope with. I'm sure you can trick it into not going into the dormant period, perhaps with root tabs as you say but also with not having the lights too strong I would imagine especially if running higher temps which might signify summer to the plant. 👍
Yes I would think it would be fine in an Angel Fish tank. Crinum Calamistratum is a great plant too. They're both interesting and unusual plants. The only thing I think about with Angels is vertical plants work better and the Crinum likes to reach out horizontally but in a nice big tank it shouldn't make too much difference I reckon. I'd definately recommend experiencing both plants at some stage. They're both pretty special.
Are you sure it's a Lace Plant bud? There are plenty of aponogetons that can be similar in appearance. I've never seen a Lace that failed to develop the holes. Anything can happen I guess but it sounds like it may be another plant maybe.
I found one in an Lfs nearish to me a while back but it didn't do great. The ones in the video I bought online. Wasn't the cheapest plant but I don't remember them being extortionate either. Worth a wee bit extra for a nice unusual plant like this though if the budget can stretch to it at the time. I'd have sent you one of the ones I pulled out my tank but I gave them to a mate of mine and they're settled in his tank already.
Well I'm in the UK obviously and you're right, took a bit of searching but got there eventually. Found a couple in LFSs which didn't do great, the ones in the video I managed to order online. 👍
Amazing information, good to know about this plant
Thanks a lot TFC. 👍
A very nice looking plant! great information about them!
Thanks very much bud.
Definitely on my plant bucket list to get. Thanks for sharing.
It's a great plant. Hope you get to experience it at some stage.
Great video!!
Can’t wait to see more.
I'm really sorry Alija. This comment went to spam and I didn't know it was there. I know it's very late but thank you for the nice comment.
Pretty amazing how the leaves have developed with all the gaps to allow water to flow through. Not requiring deep substrate is another bonus.
I know mate. Awesome plant.
Hi Daniel... wow this is such a cool plant. I've never seen it. You are the plant master my friend!!
Haha, not quite a master but certainly keep my eye out for nice plants to try and learn about (or try not to kill). 😜
gorgeous Daniel....love em....awesome video dude
Thanks very much boys. 👍

LOVE IT...…..we have Australian Aponogeton species with solid leaves, but whichever types you try, these bulb plants are THE BEST aquarium plants :)
Haha, all the plants are the best plants Colin. Every time I find a new one I'm like "best plant ever!" 😜

great thank you i will have a look for some
Next trip to lfs will get some.
It's a very nice plant Larry. You'll love it.
Mine doesn't have the holes. It's clearly a Madagascar lace but is solid on the leaves. Maybe it's young at 10 inches?

love mine
I know right? Very cool plant.
Impossible to get around my area have to be special ordered and when are available fairly expensive

Daniel Keeping Fish might look into getting one to try some time
funko freddie & co aye I have no idea how it’s doing haven’t been since I left and ah yeah I actually forgot that place existed might give it a go
How do I plant mine do I plant it like a tiger lotus and not fully submerge the bulb? Can anyone verify this for me??
That's right. Half in the substrate, half out. 👍
silly question but is there a mini one
Not that I'm aware of but you could just pick off leaves that get too big maybe.
Never seen in uk
