- Let's take a look at my little Madagascar Lace Plant tank that is really easy to take care of. It's been in a small glass tank for the past year with no Co2, no filter, no fertiliser. Today we'll upgrade it into a larger tank :)

The leaves of the lace plant are pretty spectacular. 😍
Yes, one of the most unique looking plants in the hobby
You know I get ideas from your videos. Your medaka pond videos and now your lace plant are all such great ideas. Framing the leaf of the lace plant is such a cool display and I hate throwing away trimmings so another great idea. Stay keeping the hobbies alive bro🤙🏽 CORY GANG GANG‼️‼️‼️‼️
Thank you so much 🤓
4:56 that really difficult eliocaulon to keep in submersed form..when its was first introduce in my country they really expensive, after two years many aquascape failed to keeping in tank, now some seller sell buy 1 free 1 & some seller just giveaway
17:40 i heard rotala bsd before i think was popular by indonesian..
Hi, Ryo, I always enjoy your videos. This one inspired me to maybe get a madagascar lace plant... Remember when you used to show short clips of you driving to the fish store? Keep up the great work!
Wow! , you have some great looking plants there ones outside look like they will grow on very nicely and your fish room is looking fantastic ❤️💚🙏🏻🇬🇧
Thank you so much ☺️🙏
I like the lace plant. To me it looks like the sort of plant that does not want a lot of light otherwise it will get covered in algae. Good luck mate👍
One of my favorite TH-cam channels, don't stop making videos. You're awesome.
🎬ANND... He's back!👏 You've got your mojo working now, my friend. Great video. LOVE the lace plant, and yes the crypt tiger would look amazing in the small rectangle. Such a beautiful and serene fish room. Love it. Also, thank you for sharing your outside garden area with us. I LOVE THAT. ❤At first, I was thinking no light on the lace plant because of algae, but by having the small light it really shows how special that tank is. I'd say go with that little spotlight. Thanks for the great video!
Hi Ryo san,
A better way to start the Sunday: there isn't😄😄
cup of coffee and a new video! Hope you have a great weekend!
With love from the Netherlands 💚
Thank you so much ☺️
Love the video! I love the Madagascar Lace Plant so much🥰Friendly reminder to reinstall the timer for your anubius and other plants tank if you havent already.
For the aquarium in the video I recommend a week Aqua mini 9 pro, it's bluetooth and cheap, in addition to the fact that I'm sure it will work for you, I have a small 15-liter aquarium full of bucephalandras with that lamp
In addition, you can measure the intensity of the lamp so that no algae appear
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll take a look at it :)
I like very much how Aponogeton madagascariensis looks but I'm afraid it's hard to keep in a fish aquarium. Yours looks amazing, congrats and greetings from 🇲🇽
Thank you so much ☺️
Well, there goes the theory that Madagascar Lace requires moderate light and good water flow!
Mine are doing well in the prescribed conditions…but now I’m going to try just a large tank without filter like yours.
The tanks look sleek!
Thank you 🙏
My Eriocaulon Quinquangulare is currently flowering underwater and I am extremely pleased with it. Thanks for the video Ryo your fish room is a great inspiration.
Thank you :) I hope to grow it submerged one day
The reason why the Madagascar lace did so well without light or ferts is because it is a bulb plant. All the nutrients that it needed to get a good start were stored in the bulb.
Very good video friend, greetings from Mexico 🇲🇽 🙏
Thank you 🙏
I learnt a lot from this video ☘️☘️
You do so well with plants❤❤❤
Thanks 🙏
Шикарные растения ☘️

Another vid to enjoy. What else could we ask for?
Thank you Ryo. We appreciate you putting out great content. 😃
Thank you 🙏
Hi Cow Juice! Nice to see you!
@@LeilaSoleil Hi Leila. It's good to hear from you. Hope you are doing well. 😃
the fish room is has changed sooo much
Hi there. you do have that right. The unique aquatic Madagascar lace plant is unique aquarium plant it produces oxygen two,
If you really do want to demonstrate with the Madagascar lace plant I'd have a suggestion for you to try..?? Aquarium 4 ft by 2 ft by 2 ft tall is 120 gallon Aquarium.. but my suggestion for a Aquarium for the Madagascar lace plant is 4 1/2 ft which is 54 inches buy 2 ft by 2 ft.. little over 130 gallon.
Which if you use 3 or 4 in a clump in the center of the aquarium or what I what do put three in a clump in the center of the aquarium and one on each end and then use some aquarium plants Nana banana plant and some purple crinkle aquarium plant there is another aquarium plant it's nice and good not sure of the full name of it but it's silver something it's like a oval to a speedy looking leaf green leaf with white around the leaves and there is also your Amazon sword plants with duckweed floating or some other floating plants then you're fish and I just aquarium setup...
And you are one of the very first that I came across with the Madagascar lease plant 🙏🙏👍👌
Love your videos !How many months is that beautiful plant. Thank you
Thanks :) just over a year now
You can add any light but don't use the blue color, is what gives algae blooms. All this and more info you can get from MD Fishtanks. Your fishroom is great.
The tank from finding nemo had this
Genio, tenes algun video de preparado de sustrato? para lo que es anubias y bucephalandra como las reproduces? Gracias
I have a Madagascar Lace in a 17 gallon with Lyre Cichlid, originally I had it growing in a 7 gallon, but it got too big for the space. After cutting it back, and moving it back where it was when it fit the original 7 gallons, or 30 cm. In its new home, 40 cm, it’s can grow to a height of 40cm, so an additional 10 cm. I believe the plant can easily fit in a 60 cm tall space, and by then you can really start seeing beautiful new buds.
At any rate, I love the crystals they look so, beautiful emerged, I saw them awhile back. Are you going to do a placement with them immersed?
I have a 45cm Tall, I want to transplant the blyxia japonica into that I think. It’s growing in the 30cm and under c02 seems to be flourishing with neo-caridinia shrimp and a kuhli loach. :)
On that note the Madagascar Lace, can get as big as kelp so, you just need the space to let it grow. 😂
What I found is, 6-7 hours of light is really all it needs, it doesn’t like direct light, and it doesn’t like warmer water, anything below 77 Fahrenheit should be ok. It prefers, Below that and grows well at around 75 degrees or below.
Hence, the cichlid’s they live in hard water, in San Diego the water is so hard it’s perfect for them, interestingly, the shrimp, blacks and chocolates, like it too, as does the Madagascar Lace.
Put some shrimp in with the lace plant, and they will help the snails keep the tank clean 👍
Yes, I’ve been thinking about adding shrimp 😃
@@RyoWatanabee cherry Neocaridina? 🤩
Ryo, another great video, you are really growing out an amazing plant farm. The glass jar that you put the small plant in, do you have a link? Thank you from NYC
Thank you, the glass jar is from Daiso. Our local 100yen / dollar store
@@RyoWatanabee Thank you
Hi Ryo, I noticed I havent seen cornerless aquariums in your videos, is it not popular in Japan? For me, cornerless aquarium are better looking.
Looks like Jeffery Xu Ming Jie!
How was your experience as a Showdown King at the Prostreet festival?
How would you convert the emersed growth plant to the submerged? I really want to try and propagate emersed for a new set up.
The lace plant grew beautifully. In the future do you plan to put it in a bigger tank?
I think this is the biggest tank I’ll keep it in. If it the plant keeps getting bigger, I can just trim off the leaves and keep it compact 👍
I think that is a very strange plant but in a beautiful way, have you ever considered setting up a Japanese biotope aquarium? I think it could be very interesting
Yes, I have considered a Japanese biotope aquarium. Maybe one day :)
@@RyoWatanabee oh yes very cool
Why you keep them emersed?
Will you give air to the tank for the Madacascar plant?
I will not. It does well without any. I may put 3 ricefish and a couple shrimp though
May i know the temperature of the water for your lace plant?😊
25C° 👍
Thanks, I'm inspired by you to purchase a lace plant last week, however Singapore temperature is very hot. Water temperature in the tank is 29 degrees Celsius 😂
Hi Ryo, will you keep a crinum plant too?
Hi, I’ve got crinum calamistratum in 2 other tanks.
Do you use tissue culture laceplant from ada.?
And What soil and substrate do you use in the firstly small tank
I want to copy it realbad😅look easy to maintain and delightful
Yes ADA’s lace plant. But it works with non tissue culture lace plant as well. Any soil will work. I used DOOA lace plant substrate in the beginning
@@RyoWatanabee thanks
Do you use ro water too?
@@user-zk8rf8gi1w No I don’t use ro water
First ! You have an amazing Tanks and vast knowledge. But your videos are pain to watch, you are moving the camera as you like, pl. use gimbal for your camera and move slowly or google how o shoot videos. Thanks
