  • In a bold move to elevate off-road capabilities while tapping into the enthusiasts' demand for larger, more aggressive tires right off the assembly line, Jeep has announced an exciting update for the 2024 model year. For years, the Wrangler's answer to the Ford Bronco Sasquatch package-the Xtreme Recon package-has offered formidable upgrades, including 35-inch all-terrain tires, 17-inch beadlock-ready wheels, and a slight suspension lift. However, this sought-after package was previously exclusive to select four-door Unlimited trims, leaving two-door Wrangler enthusiasts yearning for more. Jeep has listened and is now extending the availability of these beefy 35-inch tires to the more compact two-door models, specifically targeting the Rubicon and Willys trims, albeit with a slight rebranding by dropping the "Recon" from the Xtreme Recon package name to simply "Xtreme 35."
This enhancement not only underscores Jeep's commitment to delivering exceptional off-road performance but also aligns with a growing trend among manufacturers to offer more specialized and factory-direct customization options. The 2024 Xtreme 35 package continues to feature the acclaimed BF Goodrich KO2 all-terrain tires and 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels, promising unparalleled grip and durability in rugged terrains.
However, Jeep imposes a condition for this upgrade: the Xtreme 35 package is exclusively available with the optional 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine, which includes an automatic transmission, excluding the V-6 models equipped with the 3.6-liter Pentastar engine. This strategic choice by Jeep might narrow the field of potential buyers but ensures an optimized blend of power and performance tailored to the package's enhancements.
Additionally, the package incorporates a swing gate reinforcement for the heavier 35-inch spare tire, a shorter 4.56:1 rear axle ratio for improved off-road capability, and a 1.5-inch lift with uniquely calibrated dampers for an elevated driving experience. Priced at $4,495 for the Rubicon or Willys trims, and coming standard on the Rubicon X two-door 2.0 model at $64,190, the Xtreme 35 package is a significant investment that promises to enhance the Wrangler's off-road prowess and appeal to a broad spectrum of off-roading enthusiasts. Orders for the Rubicon models equipped with the Xtreme 35 package are open now, marking a new chapter in Jeep's storied legacy of off-road excellence.

This package should be a standard on the Rubicon.

Why would they not offer it with the v6? They always mess it up some how.

Why the 2.0 only? So stupid.

That was dirty to include it only with the 2.0! I am a 3.6L and 392 wrangler owner. I don’t do turbo garbage. Guessing I will just get one engine swapped from the older models and make it better than their extreme recon
