    Now this will turn into a scenario like Engineering, MBA and UPSC where there will be more Supply than Demand.

    Thank you for your efforts. It is impossible to have all these skills in person. After talking to many PMs in the industry, I have learned that responsibilities depend on many factors e.g. Company Size, Product State, Industry, Product Market Fit etc. Generally, BD , Marketing and even Sales responsibilities are taken care by the respective team at least in the large scale company.
    I hope this helps.

    I have 11 years of exp as a software engineer, and wanted to transition to Product Management. I asked lot of product managers on should I do a course or not, many of them said its not required, it's easy to understand etc etc. I spend almost 4-5 months learning bits and pieces over the internet, but it was of no use.
    Finally I decided to go with a 5 months of Product management course, and then I realise product management is a mindset, being in software engg role for a long time, my mindset is more focused on the solution space and not problem space.
    After going through course and constantly learning for 5 months, my mindset has shifted from solution space to problem space and I am really feeling better.

      Hi Vishal, I am also thinking of transitioning to Product Management from Software Engineering role. May I know did you get any success in getting interviewed by companies? Any chances that we could connect?

    In a service based company - product managers are nobody but BA .
    Product management companies and Product management roles are very limited and mostly for IIMs..
    So B2C is out if your not an IIM , which is real building of product.

    Product management is the most stressful job in IT industry period! Only if people can handle that komd of stress that kind of role. If you cant handle blame for eveything and anything bad happens, dont take up the job. Its the hardest role...

      Yes, i was thinking the same...what about BA role?

    • @udaybhagwat8126
      @udaybhagwat8126 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@gangadharr3524 BA role is good, lots to learn. But what matters is what kind of BA you wanna become...do you get into the product side of BA ( like a product owner) or someone who does Data analysis ( I have seen BAs doing data analysis with SQL or other data sources, work creating reports with tools like power bi/tableau)...it depends...

    Is the product manager solely responsible for driving sales, achieving profits etc? Or is it the sales department that handles sales targets?

    • @udaybhagwat8126
      @udaybhagwat8126 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depends...in smaller companies a PM is responsible and accountable for everything...in large companies they are responsible but not fully accountable since there are separate teams. However, PMs are ultimately accountable for the sucess of the product...success means money/growth/ease of use/ strategic anything depending on product and problem. Thus measuring the sucess of product becomes crucial...

    Being a developer with nearly a decade experience, I want to transition to a product management role. But to get that initial breakthrough, I need to do a course you are saying right? Please guide as these courses(from reputed institutes) are expensive and I'm not very sure about any job opportunities we'll get after completing

      Product Manager role started from the FMCG industry where PMs were response for managing a product. ex: Amul Milk. but now the same role also exists in IT industry where PMs work on SAAS products like Whatsapp, TH-cam, etc

      Yes, essentially every release that you have, is an incremental to the existing product
