Pumpkin is also good when it is baked or roasted with baked potatoes and carrots. I would like to wish you both a very happy Christmas 🎄 and I look forward to your next video. Greetings from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺 😀
Hey guys ! Another fun video! Christmas is hard enough with all the family and the hot food with the crazy hot weather, we certainly don’t need another holiday in summertime. Pumpkin pie is one of those things that you have to start eating when you’re very young, I’ve tried it a couple of times and just can’t say I enjoy it. Pumpkin scones though are delicious!
Yeah it's definitely a family heavy time of year but for us it's usually cold. Haven't tried a pumpkin scone might have to add that to the list! Thanks for watching 😊
A great video guys ... FOOD, FOOD, and more FOOD! My kind of day! It's a great preparation for Xmas ... more FOOD! I've been relegated to cooking the turkey "again" this year as I'm the only Aussie in my group of friends that learnt how to cook a turkey properly after living in the US ... low heat and a long time (Dutch Oven) , most Aussie cook a turkey like a chicken and it comes out as tough as old boot leather 😂😂😂 The only ingredient we don't have here is the pumpkin in a can, but some supermarkets now have "pumpkin puree" that can be used as a base for pumpkin soup, so I think that might work just as well. Hope you guys had a great day. 🤗🍷 Am looking forward to the next video. 😀
As an Aussie and Woollies employee, you should have walked down aisle 2. We have evaporated milk :) Pumpkin in a can tho, that’s just weird :):) great video guys. Nice to hear your perspective. Enjoy your holidays x
I was in the USA and my brother was not into it but his wife was crazy about thanks giving. It was a crazy time of the year in the USA. Also i miss Walmart lol. Awesome video.
Awesome video! 1 day I would love to try pumpkin pie. I really hate pumpkin but love pumpkin soup so I guess I would like pumpkin pie as well??? Lol Look after yourselves and Merry Christmas if we don't hear from you beforehand.
Hey new to your channel... Yes I'm from Sydney Australia Bondi Beach 🇦🇺 First off I just would like to say your a very cute couple.. You both complement each other one feels.. And that's a beautiful thing to have in a relationship 💕 I have watched a couple of your videos and very informative and entertaining.. Not boring at all.. I also have a house in the Beautiful ~ Blue Mountains . Wondering did you get up there.. Sad Covid stepped in and decided to mess with your holiday.. But as you would of seen Australia was in lockdown for so long and it was hell here... Every Australian wanted out of the country... Anyways lovely to met you both.. apologies any mistakes I have a horrendous headache.. So please give me a free gold pass.. Now sit back and enjoy this video.. Peace ☮️ Love 💜 And Mung Beans 🧘♀️ ....
We tend to treat pumpkin as a vegetable - mashed, roasted, baked or in a delicious soup. When I've tried pumpkin pie (there is, or was at least, a little American eatery near Flinders St Station in Melbourne - From Bowery to Williamsburg, I think) and all I can taste is the cinnamon.
@@twotravelingkings it’s looking a long way away...i was there in March anyway...got back to Sydney the same day the Ruby Princess docked...straight to Melbourne and onto Warrnambool then Port Fairy. TV coming from the US does not encourage us to travel there in the near future with Trump and his criminal cult, Covid etc.
I’m more a fan of Key Lime Pie anyway. Went to Key West in March. The Cuban Coffee Queen in Mallory Sq does a good coffee, albeit not a flat white. At least it tasted like coffee.
Haha hundreds and thousands... I've never had pumpkin pie before but it does look delicious! There is definitely an emphasis on convenience with American foods/ingredients. I have actually seen tinned pumpkin here (🇦🇺) but only in the international section of selected Coles or Woolies. I might buy one next time I see it and give this recipe a go! P.s. I've been really enjoying your videos and seeing your passion for Australia and Australian foods! Can't wait to see you back in Australia again enjoying your flat whites and caramel Tim Tams haha
Thanks for this. I had heard that, like our Australia Day, from a historical perspective, some see this day as controversial. Accepting that, and in no way diminishing that, the thought of having a national day of being grateful for what we have is something I like. I believe they have a thanksgiving in Canada too? In October I believe. Does that have similar roots? ps, Very hot here atm (Brissie), and the Big Bash League is about to start up again soon, so get out those bucket hats!
Yes you're right, the comparison to Australia Day is pretty accurate. They might have a similar holiday in Canada (not too sure about that!). We're cooling down and heading into winter here. Enjoy the Big Bash games! ☺️
In case no one else has mentioned it Carnation evaporated milk is available in most supermarkets in Australia. Also if you're ever back in Australia and need some comfort food from home (such as tinned pumpkin) give these guys a try: usafoods.com.au/pages/search-results-page?collection=sale&page=1&rb_stock_status=In+stock&mc_cid=84cac77d98&mc_eid=c4728c8d5d They're based in Melbourne, but ship all over the place. Let us know if you try making pumpkin pie! It's quite nice with a cup of coffee :)
Welcome back my friend♥

@@twotravelingkings and I appreciated the way Jenny said Pecan too. So many variations on that one too

Condensed and evaporated milk are easy enough to find in most supermarkets, but not nearly as popular as before the millennium.
Gotta try one in the US next time 😊

We have everything but the pumpkin as we have to cook that. I forgot to add that in my comment lol.
Pumpkin in a can is hard to find in Australia 😊
Pumpkin in a can...What the?
I'm so glad Woolies doesn't sale this.
Haha it's a US classic 😊
I was told once by a fellow Australian that whatever you do NEVER let an American cook your pumpkin. It will be sweet an sloppy.
We cook our pumpkin in pie form haha 😊
