A dentist told my daughter she had 15 cavities. She claimed my daughter needed several root canals etc. She was doing the first root canal and it took hours, literally. I kept asking what is taking so long. My daughter told me later the "dentist" was referring to her manual as she did it. Then she finally came out and said she couldn't finish it that we needed to go to a specialist. I was livid. She even charged our insurance for a root canal she couldn't finish. We went to a specialist of our choice, then to a different dentist. They told my daughter she had one, yes one small cavity!! not multiple. What a racket!

Cavities can't be reversed. Cause a cavity is called a cavity because it is a hole in the enamel that has reached the dentin. And it will only get worse if you don't get a filling.

    Hi Gabe
I've been an holistic dentist for 12 years now and just wanted to compliment you on your in-depth research. This is very valuable content for lots of people, as you have covered most of the important topics.
If you want another interesting rabbit hole to jump into concerning this: I've found that lots of my patients also have problems with cavities because of a mouth breathing habit or an inability to close their mouths because of orthodontic problems. Explaining this in simple terms: open mouth habit or mouth breathing = mouth dries out = no saliva = no remineralization. Luckily there's training you can do. Have a look at Dr. Mew's videos. Have fun deep diving ;-)

Saft Coral. When I was put on a CPAP machine for sleeping all my dental work from years past fell out within a year because of the dry mouth that you talk about. Crowns, a bridge, fillings,. All fell out. My dentist looked at me like I was crazy when I explained that I thought it had something to do with the CPAP because that's the only thing I was doing different. He said it was poor hygiene. Really? Yah he accused me of never brushing my teeth. I inherited really soft teeth from my father who was in dentures by the age of 35. So I had a lot of dental work in my twenties. Caps, crowns, one bridge because I still had most of my baby teeth. I now have all my top molars and front top and bottom teeth because I didn't have dental work on them but no now have no molars on the bottom 😢. Another thing... when I refused to have them paint my teeth with fluoride because you know I never brush my teeth and need extra protection...🙄... again with the look. Sorry to be so long. Guess I needed to vent to a real dentist that might understand. I wish there was a holistic dentist in my area. ❤️

I lived in the US for a couple of years, got a gum problem (related to my pregnancy). I went to the dentist my health insurance advised me. He told me I had 7 cavities. I used to go to the dentist once a year in France (each time a different one) and none of them found any cavity since my childhood. The American doctor asked for 1500$ : « You’re lucky, Ma’am, you have a very good health insurance ». I did not have the money and decided to take care of my teeth once back in my country (where a cavity was cured for 28€ only, plus fully reemboursed by social security). I was anxious, went to the dentist. She checked my mouth, then said sadly : « I am sorry to say that you have 0 cavity. You only have a few black stains. If I treat them, it’ll harm you. I saw at least 3 other dentists since then who told me the same. I am sad to hear today that this is usual in America. First visit, this new dentist tried to tell me that I had nine cavities. He probably saw that I was in my late '40s with few cavities and figured that I should have a bunch by now. I absolutely did not believe this and did not have them filled. I went to another dentist two years later, only to find out I had NO cavities. Perhaps I inadvertently somehow healed my teeth, or maybe he was just a complete scammer, needing to pay for a new practice that he just bought. I left a scathing review, and just recently went back to find that they had responded. I responded to their response negating their entire response!

The medical and dental professions both have an inherent "Conflict of Interest" built right into them. So, whenever choosing a doctor or a dentist, moral character means everything. (ie. Are they honest? Are they competent? Do they really CARE about you? etc...) My father was an MD for over 60 years, and my mother was an RN. They were both very picky about which doctors they went to. They knew that doctors are not all the same. The really GOOD doctors are in the minority. When you find a good one, don't let him/her go! (The mediocre ones are a dime a dozen).

I am 64 years old and living in Latin America, I found that the coconut oil pulling and essential oils only controlled some deep infections that I had in my jaw from diet mineral deficiencies. For me I found the Lugol's Iodine on dental floss made a huge impact so I began adding 1 drop to an ounce of water and dipped the toothbrush in it and after brushing I even swallowed the iodine solution on the brush. I then started taking kelp as well to address an iodine deficiency. That worked pretty good and I also read that Colloidal silver worked great for deep cleansing old standing infections throughout the body, so I began taking a maintenance dose of a teaspoon daily. At that point I began seeing real healing taking place. I went on a diet including liver and seafood and raw eggs and the pain and sensitivity that I had in 5 teeth rapidly diminished. The diet works well and the idea is the same, kill the infection and make certain you go on a high mineral, high vitamin A and D diet with lots of healthy fats and oils to support tooth and bone growth. I got a lot of info from Ramiel Nagel's book Cure Tooth Decay. Due to my age I also adjusted the protocol so as to focus as well on increasing testosterone which also made a huge impact. Do teeth heal? Yes. But the diet needs to focus on ocean foods that have high mineral content. That sounds great. You have to watch raw eggs. They deplete zinc if raw

      @danielben-avraham1539 ปีที่แล้ว +110

@@stayfit57 Thanks for the warning, yet I have never seen any data or studies pointing at that. Our eggs are from our very healthy and happy chickens who eat lots of bugs and grass so you can actually taste the zinc in the whites. I have been doing the raw eggs most of my life and never had a problem with zinc deficiency. If anything, I have been worried about copper deficiency which is caused by too much zinc. One thing that raw eggs are reported to do, is to possibly cause biotin deficiency. But once again, I have never had any symptoms of that either. They say the raw white can block biotin absorption in the intestines but that seems unlikely since the raw egg, due to the intact enzymes, is digested within 15 minutes of eating it, where the cooked egg requires that the body replicates the enzymes destroyed in the cooking process. And digestion of cooked eggs takes 45 minutes. If there is one thing I have learned over the years, the corporate system can be counted on to misdirect the consumers with bad info in order to maintain control and profits. According to them, teeth cannot be remineralized, yet I have done it using the fats and foods they demonize.

Very interesting. I have not had a cavity in over 50 years (74). I heard about the coconut oil treatment but I only did this for a few months since I don’t have cavities, I did not think it was necessary. I floss daily, and have a dish of baking soda in my cabinet and take a pinch daily in a glass of water and rinse my mouth out after brushing, and rinse before bed. Baking soda neutralizes all acids caused by any bacteria, foods, or drinks even vinegar. If I feel any tooth pain, I add a 1/4 tsp of hydrogen peroxide in my water pick and spray at low pressure between teeth, and all gum pain is gone, then coconut oil. But oral care must be ongoing daily!. P.S. Celtic Salt is one of the best salts to use. It contains about 80 trace elements your teeth require for proper formation. Plain salt contains only sodium and Iodine and nothing else, but is very salty flavored, highly processed, but lacking.

Exactly! This guy is giving misleading information. And his theory about 'depleted' soil is nonsense. Fruits and vegetables won't grow properly in the 1st place if the needed minerals are not present in the soil...hence FERTILIZERS. Then he suggests 'juicing' these fruits and vegetables to remedy the lack of minerals. Hogwash! If the fruits and vegetalbes don't have the minerals because of picking and harvesting them too early, juicing is going to do nothing to remedy that🤦🏽‍♂️
And for him to suggest dentists don't know any of this infomation to prevent cavities is absurd. We learn all this in dental or hygiene school. The problem is that the average American doesn't have the education to understand microbiology and bacteriology so we have to explain all this in more simplified terms.
And he does not understand that Vit D only incorporates into the tooth enamel upon formation at age 0 to about 15. After that vit D is of no use to prevent cavities. It is only beneficial to bones. And yes, to the BONES that hold your teeth IN YOUR JAW. Calcium, phosphorus and FLUORIDE are essential to remineralize the enamel to prevent cavities.
His coconut pulling regimen is controversial. Ultimately swishing ANYTHING in your mouth for 15-20 minutes will reduce the bacteria in your mouth! Essential oils are beneficial thar is why LISTERINE uses them in their mouthwash. Tea tree oil is also very good but it can burn the mucosal tissues so you have to know what your doing. A lot of people are allergic to cinnamon oils so you need to be careful with that also. That's why most toothpaste has MINT instead. Fewer people are allergic to mint.
So in all I applaud this guy doing all the 'research' he did but he is NO EXPERT on all things cavity prevention. The other thing I noticed is that his comparative xrays are taken at slightly different angles and that may contribute to the illusion of 'reversed' cavities. Some of those initial cavities may have been 'cervical burnout' and the one on #3 distal looks like it is still there, just less obvious because of the angle of the 2nd xray in Sept.
Thoughts from an actual dental hygienist professional😉🤙=^..^=

Also, we have been taught from early childhood, to use a tongue scraper to get the bad bacteria out. We went to the er and they gave her no pain or comfort measures shoved a gauze in the hole and then had me apply the pressure to see if it would clot. Nope it never did. Still after 2hrs in the er they decided to pull out the half clot and start over with pressure. Still no pain or comfort measures. I saw the life sucked out of my traumatized 91yr old mother bless her soul. Hrs later my sister took her home. Her health from that day was spent traumatized by this unnecessary event. It turned a beautiful lady independent living soul into a bed ridden infant. We had to find an adult care house for her and that was 6k pér month. It consumed all her home proceeds and then some. She died one yr later otherwise she would still be here if it weren't for an advertised dentist. My sister was her care taker and she should have sued them all. ( RIP My Beautiful Momma 😭)

Bad teeth genes do seem to run in my family on both sides of my parents but I have made my notes to follow your instructions. Once again, thank you so much

I'm sorry to hear this. Tooth decay goes way beyond sugar. From what I know, the following cause cavities:
      1. Poor oral hygiene
      2. Microbiome imbalances (some people have an excess of cavity-causing bacteria in their mouth such as S. mutans and others that cause gum disease, halitosis, and gut inflammation).
      3. Nutritional deficiencies - deficiencies in vitamin D, K, magnesium, phosphorus, and calcium cause cavities even if you eat "healthy" and avoid sugar.
      4. Mouth breathing - mouth breathing causes dry mouth which prevents your teeth from getting proper saliva exposure and it makes your mouth more acidic.

Remineralization. I love the sound of that! I'm on it! I will say i unintentionally did this last summer when i went keto. The dentist was like "your teeth are better than last time"
Since then I relapsed to high carbs and sugar. I eat a lot of almonds (ate, no more 😢) I cracked a tooth which led to the nightmare that led me here.
The crown on the cracked did not fit right (I don't think it does still after 2 adjustments.) i got nerve damage from the shots to get me ready for the drilling. I also have tmj now. . .
I will be wearing a retainer which the dentist says I should wear 24-7. This is to prevent teeth clenching and grinding.
I wish I'd never started this, just gone back to keto. . . my cracked tooth wasn't hurting, I had no idea I'd even cracked it.
I learned many years ago once you start with the dentist, it never ends.
I will go for cleanings and xrays to see where I'm at, but I'm not opening my mouth too wide for that, opening wide for too long with all the drilling is what gave me the tmj which is the biggest nightmare of all of this.
Oh, I also can only chew on one side and only eat soft food. . .the dentist said this could go on a minimum of another month.
Just do what this guy says. I have the chlorhexidine mouthwash but coconut oil is good too, I'd tried it years ago briefly.
The dentist said women between 40-60 (I turned 51 yesterday) , especially ones with small mouths like me usually are the ones who get nerve damage after numbing shots.
I will report back when I have my next check up / cleaning in November - if I even go.

Better than juicing, throw all those veggies in a blender and make a smoothie. Ninja's are affordable and capable. You'll get the benefit of all the fiber (blunt blood sugar spikes) and feed your gut microbes some good stuff. Vitamin A and K2 are important in addition to vitamin D; they all work together in mineral transport. K2 is particularly tricky to consume in an American diet. Weston Price referred to it as "Activator X." Besides fluoride, there are toothpastes with various compounds like CPP-ACP that could work just as well or better for remineralization. Fluffy floss works a lot better than waxed floss at removing plaque between teeth. Xylitol gum is another useful adjunct in remineralization as it increases the flow of saliva, helping raise mouth pH and inhibits s. mutans from multiplying. That's my brain dump from being a victim of tooth decay and turning things around to a manageable state. Too bad more dentists aren't educating patients better on ways to stop and reverse dental disease.

@@Joseperez-rt6vs Yeah, seems like one could get den ptal-assistant professional training that would at least train you on cleaning teeth and taking X-rays. You could set up as "organic dental maintenance" or some such made-up title (as long as it didn't claim to be full service dentistry or whatever other precautions one needed to take to not get on the bad list of the local dental inspectors (and by the way, the latter sort of thing re doctors, psychiatrists and perhaps even dentists is becoming a big problem these days, see various California doctors that have had an attempt to disqualify them by the state, or see what Ontario board of psychology is trying to do to Jordan Peterson). With such a practice, you could recommend going to full dentist once a year but visiting your own "cleaning/X-Raying" practice on the off 6-month interval. The idea is, each visit would come with training in "organic dental maintenance" along with cleaning and X-Rays, and if anything serious on X-Rays recommend to see a full dentist sooner rather than later, but if mild cavities, give patient option to up the healthy maintenance regime for the next 6 months at which point they would visit the full dentist and see how the situation progressed. Patients would eventually learn they could fix half their cavities-in-the-making with better maintenance, while letting the fully certified doctor of dentistry handle the worst of the problems. I wish I had such a service available while I lacked good dental insurance - if so, my teeth would not be in such bad shape today.

It is easy to prevent mineral depletion and at no extra cost. First, we need to separate 7 spaces of the land to grow on.
Second, grow on 6 of the 7 spaces every year. Allowing one space nothing grown on it.
Third, alternating one spot every year. This gives rest to each piece of land. To regenerate and restore all the minerals and trace minerals in the soil. Every 7 years, each space should not have been used at least once. The soil will regenerate all its minerals and trace minerals. If you do this.
If a farmer did not do this. Then, he must add all minerals and trace minerals back into the soil. Turn it over and do not grow on it.
You are then ready to begin this method.
It's also biblical and does not fail. Information for those who want to know where this method comes from. The soil needs at least 10 years of rest to regain all the minerals with no interference from man.
If you do not add in the minerals and trace minerals.
This is also a must for gardens.
