People are so conditioned to look at things in racial terms, but this was also a bunch of rich people thinking they can get away with jumping a working-class dock worker. Rumor has it that they have been getting away with illegally docking at this commercial dock for years, stealing golf carts, and probably other crimes. Sounds like they have connections.
To your point, it’s important to note that racism and classism are not mutually exclusive. They are interrelated and cannot be fully disconnected.

The cross over between class and race is extremely relevant because race is used as marker of class to facilitate hyperexploitation. Race marks some people as indelibly slaves/proletariat so they can be exploited better by the ruling class, as well as providing a useful permanent scapegoat to keep white working class people punching down instead of firing up.

I respect the hell out of those who jumped in and helped. As a Chinese man, I know I would never get that amount of support if I was beat up, anywhere. We generally don't stick our necks out for anyone, and when shit hits the fan, we wonder why nobody came to help.
Ahhhhh high made me sad. Well I hope you’re never in that situation. When I first moved to DC 30 years ago, I got jumped by 7 people at a club. I was raised two people duke it out and that’s it… I thought it was just she and I , nope 6 others came and they jumped me and my boyfriend. It’s terrifying. Took me weeks to get over it.

I got jumped once & my best friend didn’t help me. Ha. We weren’t friends after that. It was 2 people & there were 2 of us. She just stepped back & let it happen. Wasn’t a race thing, it was a sick prank some guy pulled in the neighborhood. Some girl threatened to beat up another girl if she ever saw her, & the guy told her it was me. I was literally like “who are you? That isn’t my name. wtf” then got punched. I raised my fist to hit back & then her friend ran up on me too. I got a hit or two in, but ended with a fat lip. People made fun of me at school until I said “yeah you get jumped & see”. They quickly stfu.
I'm still crying! Tears of Joy. SO PROUD OF MY PEOPLE'S. Especially that young Man, that jumped in the water, then swim to help his Brother Kick their Racist A$$. Let's not forget about those Sisters-they took Good Care of Becky & Karen too. ✊✊

So excited to see this! My white skinned self keeps watching and searching for all videos about this incident. I hate calling it a brawl, because it was simply the justice that has been needed for centuries. I have just been smiling for days, just imagining how much better life would be if more situations were handled like this. Seeing the first minutes of violence as that man was attacked was sickening, and the absolute relief and joy at seeing those attackers get what they deserved was the most refreshing thing I have ever seen.

It is a fact that three WM were involved in the first fight. There were never six to eight guys and women beating and stomping on the co-Captain. The BM, a couple citizens, and a couple of boat owners, including the guy who started the fight pulled the friend off of him. AND Aquaman didn't emerge from the water fighting because it was under control. However, he was able to participate in the second fight when the three BM approached the three aggressors sitting in their boat. Also, how many people used chairs. How many chairs did the BM swing. You get the point. The exaggerating is out of control in the black community, and it makes other people to doubt your ability to tell the truth.
The hat toss gave me new revelation. I’m like Lord, you mean all I need to do is toss a hat in the air and help will be on the way.

A smaller boat had brought him to land to sort it out after those idiots for 40-45 min had ignored prompts to move their private boat from the designated docking area for the river boat.
