When I hired a car in Italy. I kept punching the door instead of changing gear. It takes a while to get used to it.

I drove once a left hand drive car and i found it easier personally, but it was a citroen c3 haha so no comparison. I think having the gearbox on your right is much better
I made the mistake of renting a manual car when I went to England, was hopeless the first couple of hours, but got used to it after a while.
Had the same kind of issue, ie expecting the gear lever to be at my right, so grabbing at the door :)
I had some issues with roundabouts as well, but that's another story!
I broke my right thumb in a fight in school and I converted to my left hand for wanking and never looked back. Just can't imagine getting used to driving on the left though.

It is hard to relax right? This is why I never understood why someone, or a group of some people went the other way of direction of driving. am a left hand side driver, and I am not supporting one or the other, but was it so difficult that on our small planet we had made a choice. I know it started like whatever laws were at the time in early 1900s, when cars started to appear for the 1st time, but it is just dumb, stupid, and dangerous, I am sure people have died due to changing directions like that, when they were used with the opposite.

The n54 motor will hold around 800 bhp on standard inernals.. how is that unreliable. I buddy of mine has a 325i on 150.000 runs like new another has a 320d with high milage gets driven hard daily hasnt let him down.. bmw's are as reliable as anything else

After driving this I never want to go back to any of the others I've ever own the balance in the corners the comfort on a m way BM got it really right with this one (could av given us a lsd to start with tho)

Amazing work as always. I had the exact same issue when I first moved countries and had to get used to driving on the other side of the road with the steering wheel on the other side of the road. I did the same thing as you. As I went to change gear, I hit the door, looking for the gear stick. It took me about an hour or so to get used to it.

Very nice car but as an owner of a tuned 335i, it terrifies me to think of running those front brakes on that car! The factory 335i brakes are better brakes even though they are single piston calipers. There was a reason BMW does not recommend those brakes as an upgrade to the 335i!
