Dropping a magnet into the tank gets 98% of the shavings out if you have the pump running. Your way is better. This design fuel pump is another improvement from Bosch/BMW. "Hey.The old fuel pump very rarely went wrong. Let's improve it!". The same shit is fitted to VW Audi stuff with the same results. A few owners have fitted a fuel filter in the supply/return lines to limit the damage. At 10.40 you also see a plastic coolant tube on the side of the head - you should replace this when the inlet manifold is off as it will break eventually - and typical BMW - you have to remove the inlet manifold to access one bolt.both sides of
Good tips, i spoke to one guy, and he said that depends on the sitation and the hpfp, because sometimes the shavings are aluminium and then the magnet doesn’t pick them up, not sure if that is true tho
I found your channel about a week ago. Well... since then I watched every video. So glad to see another lenghty one. Could watch them all day. Keep up the good work 🤌

Smashing video, thanks for this! It helped me a lot in preparing my mind, I have to replace the valve cover seal and remove the injectors on my F31 soon. Very good camerawork and editing.
What a job that was, draining flushing and replacing the fuel system. Bloody hell. It looked like you got a decent deal on the replacement high pressure pump and injectors; I would have thought they would have been cripplingly expensive.
I didn't even know bmw had literally a specific "modern" line on the F30 generation! And it actually feels m more modern than I thought, considering the mainly utilitarianism interior bmw of this era usually to be.

Great job, my friend. I like your videos very much. And the editing is very good. I like that you work on more regular BMWs, and not some TH-cam overhyped M or Alpina. Do not change a thing. 👍🤗
Just thread a long, preferably strong bolt through a nut on the other side of the wheel hub and brace the bolt against the knuckle and you'll get it out without having to hammer the living daylights out of it. If one's not enough, use two. The pressure it puts on the hub is bonkers and has never failed to remove a hub I wasn't able to hammer out, and these days I usually just use this method before even trying anything else since it hardly takes any effort and always delivers results. This always completely murders the bearing and I've also bent hubs doing it so it's not really a great method if you're planning on re-using parts tho.
It’s to late now, but I would recommend you to change the clips for the Parking break cables, they are known to fail on then f30/31s. The cables will start to hang and you will have annoying noises from the cables scraping on the probshaft at acceleration. Especially when you lower the car.
Hi bro...i don't know if anyone told it in the comments below, and i just started watching the video and came running to tell...that ticking noise you hear, is the parking pawl trying to insert. Since you put the car in neutral manually (i assume it's an 8HP and it doesn't have the 5mm hex , so you had to trap the gear lever with the case ) when you don't go all the way with the lever, it makes this ticking sound. Because parking pawl is spring loaded.... I'll keep watching, keep it up. !! I have seen many many of your E series videos and iit actually is my favourite Netflix series right now!😂
Regarding the wheel bearing removal, I find it much easier to press the splined shaft out of the hub first using the long screw normally provided with the slide hammer kit and then pull the hub out with the slide hammer. Using a pneumatic hammer to drive the splined shaft out works well too. Also, once the hub is removed, heat the inner race rapidly and it usually just falls off.
One trick for you to adjust handbrake: compress the suspension and then do the adjustment. In this way it comes perfect since you take out the tension from cables
