My mother loves plants, flowers and trees. It’s her passion in life and so she prayed and asked God for a “jungle” of plants in her yard. We are now praying for God’s help to tame a literal jungle that has overtaken her back yard. 😂
I prayed about whether I renovated, extended or rebuilt my house. God told me my plan sucked and it burnt down! And we had no insurance. Come to think of it, I donated a super chat to Matt on his podcast with Fr John Burns, 15 minutes before the house fire started, on 29th June 2022. Can I please have my donation back 😂 Nah, don't worry about it - God's providence prevailed and we now live in a beautiful home overlooking a lake and mountains. We don't even have a mortgage! The whole place is paid off in full. I love God so much 🎉💙📿
I prayed to one day get to live in a little cabin with a kitchen window overlooking the shore. Then in grad school I got it! There it was little cabin, kitchen window... but I was in Alaska... and the shore was frozen. -_- God totally has a sense of humor.
I was at a low point, after a lot of dating and failed relationships. At mass I was praying most intently to meet my future wife soon because the emotional rollercoaster of modern dating was taking its toll. Driving home immediately thereafter, I continued praying "Please give me a sign." Immediately, I mean right then and there, as soon as I said that, all the warning lights on my dash came on and the gas pedal became unresponsive. The words came into my head, clear as day, and the grand message the Almighty sent me was "Slow your roll." Two seconds later, all the warning lights turned off, the pickup worked just fine and it hasn't happened again, never before and never since. Just "Slow your roll." THAT was my miracle. A couple of months later I met my fiance. We're getting married in April.

It is now almost 9 yrs that I prayed novena to st Joseph to meet this particular guy. On the 9th day I found out that he had a girlfriend at the time. I took it as a clear NO from God and I was really disappointed. However, 2 yrs later I prayed again and now we're almost 5 yrs married with 2 kids. I'm glad that my plan didn't suck that much, it was the timing that sucked 😂
Not my own story strictly but when discussing my conversion the Catholicism, my Lutheran Grandmother kind of disappointedly remarked to me that my conversion confused her, because she would pray daily for all her grandchildren to find and live in the true faith, so why would I turn out Catholic? I love her. :)
God has a tendency to let my plans play out just for me to see how so wrong I was for wanting it. I'm too stubborn sometimes and have to see for it myself but as a consequence I have gained a lot of wisdom through the process (as I often pray for) and have been able to help a lot of other people through giving advice in certain subject matters that I have personally experienced.
Haha, had a crush on a guy for 2 years, asked God to put him in one of my classes for Junior year so that I know we were meant to date. Ended up having four classes with him, but 4 years later I still have no love life. I can feel Him chuckling at His genius 😂
As someone who has gone through the dating scene to the other side, I have learned that I should not have worried about it or tried to force myself into dating. God has a plan, so instead of getting stressed out about it, I should have just prayed for my future spouse, forgot about it, and enjoyed my life. Being single is an adventure where you can go experience and learn about whatever you want, and chasing dating-shadows ruins it. So then at 27 I finally found my spouse at the moment when I was actually mature enough to handle treating another person with respect while being open to God's plan. Also, "love life" doesn't seem to me to be a very healthy term. To me, it seems to imply that one can find love by going from one person to the next, using and discarding them. This is not love, it is addiction. No, we want one spouse who we will love for our lives, so if I may alter the phrase, it would simply be "I still have no spouse". Love is when we will the good of another, which is independent of the marital act.
When i started college, my plan was to enjoy college as a single man and just have fun... Well, i met a girl in the school Catholic Club, started dating before my first semester ended and we ended up dating my entire college career, got married and now have 2 beautiful boys. God really didn't like my original plan.
This sort of thing happened to me this past summer. While seriously discerning whether or not to marry my current girlfriend, I had come to the conclusion that she needed to become Catholic, because that would solve all our problems, for some reason. I prayed novenas for this, because how could someone becoming Catholic not be God's Will? Yeah, God quickly demonstrated to me that I'm not even good enough at defending and practicing my own faith that it's very unreasonable of me to expect her to convert right now. He had me encounter stories of mixed-married (Catholic and non-Catholic Christian) couples, particularly Jimmy Akin, who eventually converted after being married for a while. He assured me to trust in Him. I will be proposing to her in February. Four and a half years of courtship have utterly convinced me that she's the one, and I do firmly believe that He's insistent on patience.
God literally just answered a prayer today after months for asking for it. It’s about passing a board exam after failing twice. I know there’s going to be another problem in the future that I will ask God for a certain solution and He might not give it to me but God taught me so many invaluable things during the times of failure that I know every time He says no it will only be for the betterment of my life.
I had been in the process of joining the army for over year. This September I got denied to join because of a previous mental illness. I even tried to get it repealed and I kept praying on it. But, God knew that it wasn’t for me.
I asked to marry a certain woman. And was madly in love with her. Turns out it was an abusive relationship and i was in the honeymoon phase. Thank you God that I'm out of thay
I don't get the coffee thing either. I could see it possibly being funny in context, if you know who those characters are, and you have some backstory on the scene.
@@maggierainville3321 this. The gen Z “absurdism” is the term they use…but it’s to hide the fact that they can’t get deeper level humor so they just laugh at the silly antics. Gen Z kids have high incidence of autism, isolationism and dumbed-down education. So they can’t interpret deeper concepts….like the abject terror in the men’s eye.

I really needed this today. I was just praying for an answer and feeling sorry for myself and this reminds me to surrender myself to the Lord.
