  • Today I want to talk about a shrimp in the Caridina genus. The orange eyed blue tiger shrimp is apart of the tiger species and originates from China. The breeding of blue tigers has gotten much easier through the years as the line has been stabilized. The OEBT shrimp is an easy to breed shrimp and is quite stunning.
    Today we are going to cover the tank set up for breeding orange eyed blue tiger shrimp. I go over how to sex shrimp, what does berried mean, what does saddled mean, for shrimp, why snails are beneficial to orange eyed blue tigers and feeding. The last thing we discuss is the water parameters to keep the OEBT shrimp happy.
    I hope you enjoyed this video, check out some other great shrimp breeding videos from previous Shrimp Saturdays:

    • @bw6603
      @bw6603 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joseph Jones Not sure what you mean by high end. My tank definitely isn't high end though. 16 gallons. I was pretty focused on the water chemistry aspect, and let my tank sit for about 10 days before adding the shrimps.

    Is it true that shrimp don't like strong light because I want to get some but I don't know if they would be happy in my high tech planted tank with strong light

    • @NeonTetraAquarist
      @NeonTetraAquarist 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      stew I don't think they mind lighting as much as I have heard they don't like pressurized CO2 but I cannot confirm that😅

    • @Stuartone7
      @Stuartone7 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Neon Tetra Aquarist Thats a bust then because ive got pressurised co2. If my light doesn't kill them co2 will lol's can't win either way

      Lee Van Dyke Frys don't show their color right away and are basically transparent. It might be you're seeing blood/inside bits.

    Royal Blue/Black Shrimps do NOT breed true. You can get Royal Blue/Black Shrimps from OEBT, and vice versa. From Royal Blue/Black Shrimps, you can get OE(Blond)T, OE(Light Blue)T, OE(Dark Blue)T, Royal Blue Tiger, Royal Black Tiger.
