GQ, you're spot on about how important these catalogues were and are to kids that loved and still love these toys! Good job on the video! As a 50-year-old collector that still refers back to the ones I got when I was 8, you hit the nail on the head... Primary source material at its finest!
I also remember we had the one Kenner toy catalog that was mainly Star Wars toys, but had those Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid action figure line briefly advertised at the end of the booklet.
Those mini catalogs were great! I used to have the ones from my Falcon and AT-AT. I'm not sure where they are now. They were well made little catalogs. I had the Stormtrooper blaster as a kid. That was extra cool because my friends and I were already into playing 'cowboys and indians' with each other. It became 'stormtroopers and rebels' after we saw Star Wars. One of my favorite Star Wars things. I wish I still had it. It got ruined because we played with it outside so much.
The catalogs are priceless! That’s a shame about your Pew getting ruined. But that says a lot…it was well loved!!! Can’t ask for a better thing at playtime! But now as a collector, I feel your pain.
I got a Kenner Star Wars Return Of The Jedi toy catalog with a Jabba' The Hutt playset I bought recently off of ebay. Seen those vintage Star Wars Kenner Toy catalogs showing up for sale often on ebay. :)
Yep, I kept many of them. I tried to keep one nice one of each version. I don't have them all, especially the really early ones. I also marked up a lot of them to show mom what I wanted on next gift day!
I didn't realize there were variations. When I was a kid I had so many catalogs I threw out the duplicates. I regret that now. Who knew that they would be this collectible 40 years ago.
You are most welcome, Sean!! These Kenner cataglogs are amazing. Almost as cool as the actual toys themselves. As always, thank you for checking out my channel and my videos. I really appreciate your continued support.
I have all of the Star Wars catalogs, except for the very first one, referred to as "the Early Bird catalog". I've seen a few on Ebay, but the prices are absurdly high.
We attempted to keep ours, but ultimately were unable to. I had to buy one with a Jabba The Hutt Throne playset off an ebay seller, just to get another. Thanks for the video kind sir! :)
Fun video! The Jabba return of the Jedi was my favorite of the covers. I also found it interesting the crouched stance they had the AT-AT in, I mean it wasn't like a full crouch but it definitely wasn't standing straight haha. I mean I could comment on every page... theres so much good or discussion worthy. I also think the imperial shuttle is kind of the great white elephant for any era collector. Even newer era collectors, getting a shuttle is always a big deal. The sandcrawler is a fantastic vehicle, under rated I think. Haha I could honestly keep going with little comments, too much to respond to with such a long video
Thanks, buddy! The catalogs are amazing. Like I said in the video, a nice way to spend the Sunday, just cruising thru the pages of Kenner. So good! The Shuttle is a Grail for sure. Sandcrawler is spectacular. Love it! Wish I had another one. LOL. Hope it wasn't too long.

How these aren’t compiled into a book is beyond me. They’re all fascinating works of art.
Right?!

Quality reading, my friend. Quality :)

Catalogs rock!
Absolutely the BEST. I looked at those for hours in '78-'80 just begging for one more toy, LOVE KENNER
Kenner is KING! Welp, now you can watch this vid whenever you want to see them :)

Your collection looks super clean. Nice blast to the past!
Thanks, brother! My pride and joy.
The one with the little bit of pink on the front cover was one I remember we used to own.
Right on!
Always used to circle the figs I wanted so my parents knew which ones to buy me!
Smart move, Brandon!

Glad you like them!
Just rewatched this video because I needed a reference to look back up. Ty. Great vid
Thanks! Love the catalogs. Such great nostalgic history and info there! Glad you enjoyed a second trip down memory lane:)

I think a LOT of kids marked up these catalogs and cardbacks for that matter. No one was thinking about the future collecting value back then.
I didn't realize there were variations. When I was a kid I had so many catalogs I threw out the duplicates. I regret that now. Who knew that they would be this collectible 40 years ago.
I don't think you were alone, my friend. Not even close. Kids didn't pay attention to anything but the toys themselves. Ha
Great video! I always keep my catalogues when I was a kid....
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it! The Kenner catalogs were almost as cool as the toys themselves.
Absolutely love this vid. RIP Sears
Glad you enjoyed it! The catalogs were everything back then!
Loving the the channel dude!
Glad to hear it. Thanks, Greg!!
My brothers got some of the Star Wars A New Hope related Kenner toy catalogs with their toys. :)
Kenner included catalogs in most toys.
Those are amazing - wow !! Haven’t seen these in 30 plus years - top work again !! Killing it !
I love the catalogs! Wish I had every one of them. One day I'll track em down. Thanks for checking out the vid, my man!
This took me wayyyyyy back! Thanks!

I've been looking for the Jabba catalogue with the photo of the Imperial Shuttle inside. All mine have the illustrated version!
Kenner made some awesome catalogs!! So many different ones. Collect them all, as they say!
I have all of the Star Wars catalogs, except for the very first one, referred to as "the Early Bird catalog". I've seen a few on Ebay, but the prices are absurdly high.
That's awesome! I wish I had an Early Bird Set. One day :)

Lots to collect in the Kenner world! Thanks for watching, Tim!
That’s a good video 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!!
These were the next best thing other than the Sears/JC Penney cataogs.
You got that right!! 100%. Did a video on those too I believe. th-cam.com/video/HV77V467zOU/w-d-xo.html

Sweet
The catalogs are awesome! Really enjoy flipping thru them.
I used to have several of these catalogs and for the life of me I can’t even find a single one..
Hopefully they turn up one day in one of your many boxes of toys, my man! Fingers crossed!
Most likely in a packed away box of office papers and such
I’ll find em!!!!
