I cried knowing we may never see Afro play this after his initial play through of the demo but here he is the MUTHAF’in GOAT please finish this and make it a series
Afro please do a full series of this. I promise you, you will enjoy the story and gameplay. EDIT: Weapon wise, build tech, find the Booster Glaive handle at the factory, then put the Wrench head on top of it once you get it. That is a great weapon for strength that can even have you tank through attacks with its fable art. You also want to build capacity to be able it wield it, otherwise you’ll be too heavy. Edit again: SORRY the responses are correct, strength (motivity) is wrong here you want level up dex (technique) for weapon specifically.
@@slashthejackal8558 he asked what weapon to get, I didn’t say anything about the story. And he’s already at the factory, also I did not say where the wrench is.
depends on the weapon. i started over on the Rapier and its a different game. so much fun, 90% of frustration is gone and its a 10/10 experience from start to finish
A fear of mannequins is understandable. Seeing a human form with no defining features is unsettling and even more so when fully animated. Silent Hill always took full advantage of this too
Having a fear of mannequins and still playing this game feels manageable. I mean most of the puppets look like clothed robots or at least clothed robo-mannequins... but the naked-slowly-walking-towards-you ones are hella creepy
Oh 👀 I didn't know that I was just running from red attacks tbh Tho I'm definitely get this game the demo was amazing And question can the puppet string drag targets that are high up? Tried that in the demo and it didn't work
Once you meet someone who can give you boss weapons, you’ll be straight if you stick with your strength build. Also, remember to experiment with assembling weapons with the handles and scaling. I hope to see you complete this game, it’s really really good!
Tips for afro -when the enemy glows red, you HAVE to perfect block (or just run away) -when the enemy is staggered, u press r1 (rb if u play on pc) that's where the critical damage comes in (basically a crit build in souls games) -With humanized enemies, your able to back stab them
This series gonna be so much fun. A little bit of tips, don't use the unique ergo you get from defeating boss to level up, keep it in your bag. Use it later on until you unlocked a certain shop. Also, motivity stats increase your defense points, so you don't need to spend all your earned ergo mainly on vitality.
Please Afro, I'm begging you. Make this a series. If you love the Souls games, this is the next best thing. Trust it's such a good game. Please make it series!
I understand not wanting to be slow, but the damage, stagger, and interrupt from heavy weapons carried me through this game. I felt so strong. AFRO! Channel your inner Sekiro Senju, you can break weapons with enough perfect parries and heavy attacks on their blocks. Nothing funnier than making your enemies helpless.
Holy shit I'm praying he does a full series on this game! I got a feeling we will get another Malenia montage with the Laxasia fight! Let's goooo Afro!!!
I am so glad to see Afro starting a series on this game. I really hope he finishes it. It's such an awesome game, but I think Afro might need to take his time with it for the sake of his mental health.
This man is both my favorite and least-favorite youtuber to watch play games. I love watching him play, but watching him struggle to understand how the game works because he refuses to read the tutorials irritates me so bad.
YUSS!!! Finally! I've been eagerly awaiting your Lies of P playthrough vids! So glad to see you're finally diving in. I was worried something about your experience with the demo had made you not want to play the full game. My popcorn is freshly out of the microwave. Let's GO!
Really hope you continue this man. The game is absolutely phenomenal! The 3rd boss, the Scrapped Watchmen, and everything before was all that was in the demo. If you time a block as they hit then you do a parry which does more stagger dmg(they get the flashing white hp bar which is when you have to do a charged heavy to knock them down). The red attacks can only be avoided or parried. If you try to dodge while in the radius of the attack it just ignores the normal i-frames. Whenever you run out of heals you can get 1 back by attacking enemies. It shows it being purple over your pulse cell and you can see it slowly go up as you attack. You only get the ability to recharge the last 1 though. Motivity is Str in this game and Technique is Dex. There’s definitely some more minor tips, but that’s what I got off the top of my head.
I'm excited for this series, but I'm dying watching Afro not read the tips that take up the whole screen while the game is paused and is then confused later about mechanics.
Focus on stamina, health and capacity first Bro! You don't want to be slightly heavy as it slows you down considerably. Stay under slightly heavy to be able to dodge as much as possible. Also you can alter your handles to fit specific blades to make heavier weapons strike faster. Also pay attention to what you are using your Quartz for. Their are multiple skills to unlock but choose wisely. I wish I could help you more but hopefully you'll get the gist!
If you're ganna keep playing this game, try to parry(like in sekiro) it helps a lot if you find difficult to dodge, also you can parry red attacks(for which you don't get i-frames when dodging)
Had to take several mental breaks from this game because the rage is real. The Cathedral really took a toll on me. Still 10/10 would recommend with a side of head smashing rage.
This game plays a lot closer to Bloodborne than any of the Souls games, so perfect guard (parry) will be the most beneficial thing for you to learn since it's effective against every boss and enemy in the game. Also, make sure you take the time to look at the P-Organ upgrades and plan ahead which ones you want, since some of them are VERY useful (Link Dodge and Rising Dodge) It'll take some time but if you want a great Motivity weapon, combine Bone-Cutting Sawblade + Dancer's Curved Sword Handle with a Motivity Crank.
Awww Afro my dude we've been missing your content! But some tips for you: Make sure to stay aggressive like bloodborne, the game rewards you for that playstyle! - Try not to dodge a lot! Just block/parry cause you can get your health back if you stay aggressive and hit them! - For enemies unblockable attacks when they glow red if you time your parries at the exact moment of when they're about to connect, you can perfect parry that. - And finally if you run out of heals don't give up because you can get one back by filling up the pink gage on the left by hitting enemies! Great video man keep it up!🔥🤙🏽💯🙏🏽
C'mon bro. You're missing out on the awesomeness and satisfaction of the perfect parries coz you keep dodging. Excited to see you complete the game(I finished it 5 times already, I loved it)
Afro you can party any attack in the game. The attacks where the enemy turns read isn’t supposed to be dogged it’s meant to be “perfect blocked” which is basically a parry. It also pushes them into the white health bar mode where they can be stunned quicker. Perfect blocking is super super super key to this game.
You should be dexterity (technique) instead of strength. Strength weapons don’t have poise and they’re slower so you can get staggered out of attacks often. Also don’t tap when you parry, hold it for like a 1/4 to 1/2 a second to take advantage of all the parry frames
Only ðe first parry ðough. Ðe follow ups are better tapped. Also, dex weapons are awful at parrying. Ðey do way less parry damage. Unless you mean ðe Booster Glaive. Ðat shit slaps!
22:41 The rage you were building up instantly got replaced so fast. You really weren't joking about the whole mannequin thing are you. I guess some of us should've warned you. But hay, you have a weapon to protect yourself with
The anatomical health mannequin in ghost wire Tokyo is by far the scariest of any in game mannequin I've ever seen, the fact that when your back is turned is chases you but once facing in its direction it doesn't move. Being in a dark creepy haunted school doesn't help either lol, I literally did the whole quest backwards just to keep my eyes on it lol.
Yes please do a series of this - I have never yelled at a game more outside of maybe Sekiro. Motivity build is gas - the starter weapon will carry you through until you get the Bonesaw and then the Puppet axe thing is great - stat wise you focus on Vitality Capacity and Motivity - pumping some vigor for stamina
For strength build, my go-to weapons are the Trident of the Covenant (you unlock it after boss #4) and also the Big Wrench Head + Krat Police Baton handle. Use a fire, electric, or acid grindstone. Staggers enemies ridiculously quick and builds up constant damage on them. I also really like the maxed out puppet string and falcon eyes.

Hi Afro, first time commenting on your vids: 1. After the enemies HP bar glows white and you stagger them with a charge attack, you can do a fatal attack AT THE RIGHT ANGLE 2. Motivity = Strength and Technique = Dex. Advance is for elemental damage and buffs 3. The weapon system in the game is interesting; You can disassemble normal weapons you find and switch between different "blade" and "handle". The blade is tied to damage scaling while handle is about movements. The hitbox in this game is super tight, so you really gotta think whether you want a slash or a stab motion. 4. Personally I found bone-cutting saw blade + exploding pickaxe handle to be amazing for motivity build 5. You will also gain some boss weapons, but know that boss weapons can't be disassembled.
If you're going strength I highly recommend you level up Capacity more so than Vigor. You'd want to stay below 60% weight which is actually extremely hard in this game. You also want Vigor to be at least 15 so you have decent stamina (don't level up Vigor past 15 that much afterwards). Generally you'd want to use as many charged attacks as possible so focus your quartz points on those if you can.
Please complete this series afro, u should also consider learn how to do perfect guarding, which is basically the deflect from sekiro but lies of p’s version. It will not only get their posture up but also can break their weapon if they have a weapon
Just a small tip for the red attacks, you can't guard against them or dodge them, you can however avoid them if you're far enough away from the attacks, but the best thing for you too do is perfect parry it. Also parrying is going to benefit you more than dodging.
I remember playing skyrim modded, there was a room I had full of mannequins. There was a glitch where they all started slowly and creepily walking around. Honestly kinda freaked me out so I understand the phobia lol
Whenever the enemies do a red attack, you have to parry or else you are going to get damaged. Those attacks are impossible to dodge so parrying is the only option. This game forces you to learn parry timings or else you will have a lot of trouble trying to beat most of the bosses in this game.
