Thanks, though I don't hink I'll ever build one of those bikes, they just don't have the right look to me. I tip my hat to anyone who can take them on though.
bravo, great video. i had a buell ulysses and i had to sell it and i'm so sorry. now i'm looking at xb12s and i think they are great engines to drive that sound wow. unfortunately there are no more services in Croatia, so I will be forced to learn by myself hehe. You literally showed them all the flaws here and I look forward to future videos. good luck
@@TheObviousOfficer St. Paul HD and Twin Motorcycle's are good sources for parts. As far as tutorials, I've been continuing to get questions about this/requests for voice-over type videos, and am strongly considering doing tutorials on my 2nd channel. We'll see
St Paul Harley does not carry that adapter that looks like the throttle body zirk type connector or whatever you call it that plugs into the fuel line. According to 34nineteen on the Buell XB forum it is Part No. B-45522 which st paul does not carry. Could you please tell me where i could get one. If I had a latthe, I would make one myself.
Nice video. Been restoring an xb12xt I bought last year and it’s been a roller coaster. Once something is fixed , something else was wrong. But I finally got it to run kind of smooth. I’m using the rev-mo exhaust and the map that came with it. Wondering if you can share me your fuel map to try it out. Thanks
Thanks, yeah that's how it usually goes. I this bike has a built high compression motor with headwork/cams, the fuel map would be way off for your bike.
I have the exact same issue with mine. Plastic housing for the regulator has started to crack and fall apart. So loosing pressure. Any ideas where to find a replacement, as I can’t anywhere on the net :/
@@ibrahimharizi8781 Check the basics. Put the bike in neutral, manually jump the starter solenoid with a +12V wire, see if the starter spins. If it does, start working your way backwards. Is the killswitch operational? Is the Starter button supplying power to the solenoid? If so, it might be the starter relay. Download a service manual and follow the troubleshooting procedures, that's how I figured this out and that's how I find faults on all EFI bikes.
Wouldn't it be awesome if "real" doctors also knew what is causing patient's problem and how to fix it? Instead of prescribing pills? 👀 __ That was pretty amazing to watch. My fav bike, too. Was all that messing with the gearbox because of the one little tiny spring that fell out? 😍
Thanks, the spring fell out because the dowel pin that centered the shifter was broken off inside the case. I took care of that off camera. But yes, it all had to come apart for a relatively simple fix.
@@DoctorMotorcycle that's a great point, things like "spring fell off" don't usually happen without a reason and people should be careful to look for a cause when reinstalling something that's fallen apart
I'm confused .. You heading says ..will it run..starts and runs poorly.. So you take off the primary cover to reinstall the shifter spring .. Then you say the program was corrupt ..but you pulled the fuel pump and replaced the broken plastic parts ..then cleaned the plugged up injectors ..??
All separate issues that contributed to it not running, and it's a great example of what it's like to be a mechanic. You think you've discovered the issue, but there's still more wrong. Personally, I don't think a bike that won't continue to run after you hit the start button counts as running, but if you feel that it does....let's agree to disagree 👍
Glad to see there’s still people out there who love their Buells as much as I do!!
I just bought one last year I love it
OMG you make it look soooo eazy 😂
8 min video is 5 days for me
Hope I'll get my '08 xb12s cherry bomb back on the road.
Many thanks 🙌
You're a great mechanic, ill be back to watch your other videos. Buells are notoriously hard to work on and you made it look easy.
Thanks, but to be fair, I've worked on more than one of these before.
Does it sound very difficult to add ABS to one?
Fantastic video. All meat, no fluff. Clearly you understand the XB machine well.
1:53 that quick connect fuel pressure gauge setup is pretty sweet😘
I mighy have to steal your idea.
Revision moto Sells it fyi. www.rev-mo.com/product-page/xb-fuel-pressure-tester
Tear down the whole bike over a spring, got to love it
I REALLY would like to se a turbo build on an old Honda GL1000 from 1975-1976.... Love your work!!! Regards from The DK
That would be an awesome build honestly. I have one and it could be out of this world crazy cool.

@@DoctorMotorcycle it's just so tricky finding those dang parts...

Great video's! Long time Buell guy in Kingman that still has a bunch of Buells. Thanks.
You're my hero, I wanna be like you when I grow up!
your belt came off real easy! The new belts are very stiff. I had to modify my tensioner.
Final growl sounds SOOOOO good. Well done. I'm out in Surprise.
Clear video ! did you have to sacrifice the bolt while tapping out the pump ?
Amazing opportunity to watch someone who knows exactly how to apply effort for desired results, it's obvious you've got these machines figured out.
Thanks!
When I get my buell I will be sending it your way
Gosh I love the XB12S. Such a cool bike.
Word, such unique bikes, though I prefer the S1 lightning myself.
True race maching track tested
My favourite bike 👍🏼. Being in the UK you're a bit far away for tune-up 🤣
I miss my Buell
Great work and video. Wish I lived close so you could go through my sportster.
Thanks Mark!
Xb12 I'd love to own that, very good info also
didn't recheck to see if there was perpetuated fuel pressure loss. was a crack found in the hoses? Thanks
dude i enjoyed this video !! your a master
I just got my xb12 running! Lol
Right on Jack, the more Running Buell's that are still around the better!
Maaaan, that was satisfying. And I dont even own a Buell, let alone a bike! :D
Nice job! Relaxing!
You know i love buells 😊
Yea buddy!
I know you’ve put it in the comments before but I can’t remember which video it was. What do you mix up to clean and degrease the bikes? Thanks!
I use simple green if the bike is really dirty, in this video it was just soapy water
I learned not to beat on my machines they last longer and you won't spend a bunch for repairs
With out a doubt 😎
Where are you located? I’d love to have my xb12 tuned
What did you use for the ECM programming? I just got a 2017 1190RX and I want to check the ECM.
ECMDroid but I don't believe that works with the 1190
ECMspy
@senoJSR *Update on the 1190RX I picked up, it was tuned at EBR with the HMF muffler. Bike is Sick!
Great video!! Liked & subscribed.
i have this same problem whit my buell ulysses 2009 xb12x can you give me one tip from the part RICHENING THE TUNE
Need your help I have a 06 XB12s that will start then immediately shut off and kinda back fires. What can it be?

Esta moto siempre me gusto. quiero encontrar una en buen estado para adquirirla. lastima que en mi pais apenas he visto 2 unidadas en 10 años.

Come to Italy please
Turbo build ha, I was thinking about it lol
I wold love to turbo a Buell, though those types of builds are really hard to get your money out of unless you sell the kit separate.
had an 08' XB12SCG 25th aniv edition, was so happy to get rid o it. Too many problems
Quality control was not Buell's forte ! Worked at HD dealerships and the warranty work on them never seemed to end, fun when they ran :) .
Do you use the same oil in the swingarm and the primary?
Yes
how is ai doing this videos so good
It's interesting you mention that, I was just thinking about this the other day. How long until videos like this are 100% computer generated.

Custom Buell service, from Italy
This was a replacement I broke it when I reinstalled it, because I didn’t take the rear swingarm off.
@@adventureswithtbird8087 Legend mate. Mines an 04 with the older assembly, but this will work!
When my regulator took a shit, there was apparently no new ones in the states. Got mine from Big Twin. Believe they are in the Netherlands. 09 XBT.
It look so easy!!!....🥺
What is your preferred turbo to use on your builds?
My recommendation is to go on Garrett's site and look at the GBC line of turbo's, the GBC14-200 will work for 90% of motorcycle turbo builds. -Doc

Time to replace that tacho screen.
