@EccentricOvercast Of course TH-cam hid my last comment. Probably for the best tbh. Warning to parents/ kids, this could be a disturbing pair of shoes to put yourself in, do not read unless you're over 16/18 unless you grew up outside cities, in which case, 8-10yrs plus. Basically my question was, if you had to die, no way to stop it, but you got to pick between the two options, or the human equivalent I guess. Would you rather, and mind you this is after being drug around and eventually hoisted up into the sky by a hook in your cheek (if it's a guy fishing to feed his family, who cares, and not a commercial vessel where you'll be crushed into a net, harpooned, or possibly foul hooked. Which is in the spine, eyeball, etc.) only to see a giant staring at you either smiling (fishing for your own food) or straight faced like you're no more consequential than the spec of dirt on his hand before being either A: dispatched quickly with a spike, bullet, etc between the eyes. Or B, after fighting for your life trying to get this hook out and get away, and realizing you have no chance. Getting thrown into a meat locker with just enough oxygen you'll take awhile to pass out, nvm actually be gone, but not enough to ever survive nevermind catch your breathe or regain strength. Said locker being full of other humans packed layer by layer like sardines separated by layers of ice before being buried by another layer of ice, then bodies, repeat. Keep in mind, you'll be witnessing this happen to dozens of others, in the same situation, crushing the air out of your lungs piled on top of you. While you go through all the fear etc as you slowly lose the ability to think remotely clearly before you even pass out. ... Personally, I don't want to go, but if I have to, I like the sound of a direct hit to the brain, or even a direct hit by H.E. tank, artillery, or naval shell. Just mist. Anything bigger and I would prefer to be able to walk towards ground zero before it hit. Assuming i know there's no way out. Remember, people have to eat, and this is actually the least traumatic, most respectful way you'll ever see fish taken. It's a lot better than what most catfish here in the south get. The catfish here usually get nailed to a tree by their tails, before being skinned alive, and then gutted. Keep in mind catfish can breathe well enough in air with their lung structure that they can cross roads and even crawl into land to take baby birds, evade predators, etc. So they're ENTIRELY aware of what's going on, no oxygen deprived dulled sensory inputs like these fish in the video would experience even in a commercial vessel. I know it's a book, but i wasn't trying to attack you, just give a different perspective, and honestly I could've went into more detail, but if you're truly empathetic to *all* life you'll be able to understand and come to terms with this. As well as it genuinely being the most respectful way to do it. I try to share this method anytime I can to spare the fish suffering. Even here in the states, even in my own household, it sometimes comes down to the old adage about giving a man a fish. If you're issue is actually about the fact that we can technically do a vegetarian or vegan diet, plant based meat substitutes, or synthetic (lab grown) alternatives. I'll share with you the realities of not being a middle or higher class westerner and how neither the economics or the nutrition works below a certain income bracket, how it's likely far worse for your health if you can't source from certain types of farms, or get certain produce in your area at all, potential unforseen complications later in life from synthesized additives/ supplements, the list goes on but the point is two fold, number one im not trying to attack you in any way, just giving another POV for both you and anyone else who reads this to consider, and two, harvesting fish is absolutely necessary, even for a meat free diet to be possible for middle class Americans. Which means this is the most respectful way to do it bar none. Well, barring an ability to modify farm raised fish to be as mindless as you can imagine with no capacity to feel anything negative beyond hunger. Now sorry for the book, let's see if this gets hidden.

You need to learn the exact location of its brain though since head shapes are different.
Ike Jime is, from what I've heard, also harder to perform because you'd otherwise need to know where the brain is at on the fish you're catching. It's easy to miss, and end up causing more pain for the fish.
With how quick that cut went by, it's like saying "he shot it in the head while ir was still alive" He cut it, and irs brain in half in maybe a second or so man, not long for it to feel pain.
@@762x39..no it's more human then boiling a crab and anytime you eat crab that's what happened and both are very humane do with that information as you want
That's because there objectively can't be a humane method of killing. It's a nonsense idea made to make kids and people with minds of kids feel better. Killing is always brutal and violent and you either accept that or you cope.
That's because calling it "humane" is a smokescreen. No such thing as humane kil*ing is possible, but some people need to believe that or they'd feel bad and buy less products. You either accept the brutality of the act or you cope.
No kidding lol, I got the weirdest looks the other day from some guys for doing this, meanwhile they have live fish on a line. Like bro, I'm killing them immediately, you are torturing them and somehow I'm the bad guy??
It looks brutal, but to me its so much better then the haunting drumming of fish on planks slowly beating out. That shit gives me nightmares, ikejime is so much more humane.
This is exactly how I would dispatch fish way back when I was an avid spearfisherman. As soon as I pulled in the tether, I used my dagger-like dive knife and into my game bag they went.
That's true, but point of stabbing it in brain is so that it doesn't CONTINUE to pump more and more stress hormones into blood!!? Quickly stabbing it in brain stops it from continuing to pump more and more stress hormones into blood and in turn into the meat!? If u just let fish sit there and suffocate the fish will be constantly pumping those hormones and lactic acids throughout its blood which in turn gets into the meat!!? It can take a pretty long time for fish to fully suffocate and be completely dead!? Sometimes, it can take 5+ minutes for fish to suffocate and be fully dead depending on type of fish!? Some fish can stay alive quite a long time out of water!?
@yourdad8716 so your excuse as to why it's OK to kill hundreds of small crabs is because they are invasive? I mean, I can care less about the damn crab, but the sacrifice of its life being cut short with a giant pair of scissors just to be used as bait for your food shouldn't be chalked up to a shoulder shrug. You don't have to compensate with the taken of innocent lives just to make you feel better.
If you fight a tuna on a line its body temperature increases (warm blood) and produces histamines, which are toxic (inflammatory). It's important to get a tuna on the boat and on ice as absolutely quickly as possible.
