It's pretty humorous that adult goblins die in combat or get corrupted by evil totems. But newborn and elderly goblins are kicked out into the wild from a flourishing colony for having bad genes.
19 episodes in, both we and Retromation are now too invested in the series to give it up now! A worthy long running series successor of Wildfrost and Isaac!
This game needs a lot of QoL changes. As an example, there are some junk in your inventory for ages because of how weird the layout is, making it hard to see stuff in the inventory when you want to sell things. It's a really nice game that can be better.
I believe the random low stats when breeding come from recessive genes. The game said earlier in a tool tip that goblins have respective genes somehow and this might be that? Not 100% sure though
Relevant to 54:13: Gold and materials can be bundled and unbundled by right clicking to bring up an action menu. The game doesn't tell anything about it to you, but you can for example save a slot that way by unbundling gold bags. (Same can be done for moving around rooms and possibly other things)
I feel like Payback and Motivate could be really nice with a 2 bandit squad. Get the tank(s) or acolyte with a heal out front if something nasty is coming, more chances to scold acolytes, scaling damage if a fight is going sideways, and I feel that while the raider has been really nice, all he does now is speed himself and maybe proc the crit for acolytes. Doesn't synergize quite as well as it could. Not bad, but could maybe be revisited. Plus with 2 bandits you can battle cry your aoe's better (ranger/acolyte). With that said, I also think rattle is really nice for setting up/delaying the enemy line-up, so I anticipate some incoming damage from taking that off that may get uncomfortable. Just my 2 cents, food for thought, enjoying the series so far, keep it coming please 🥰 Edit: as a secondary thought, the bandits then soaking some damage intentionally may open the possibility of them acting as off-tanks, so maybe dont need 2 guards? 🤔 breed in defensive?
@@apackman1822 It did. I'm just waiting for Reto to absorb it too so I don't have to keep watching him being surprised and indignant that the reroll is gone when he used it earlier. I mean we get that it doesn't make sense with that wording but we can all see how it actually works by now, maybe time to move on yes?
7:12 I think the reason not to use the reroll is that while it does SAY it's once per battle, it's either a bug or misworded tool tip, clearly something is making it 1 reroll per run, as you've pointed out multiple times
It feels like Bandit more than other classes benefits from stacking them. With Cleaving Axe and Final Strike in combo with one another you can do some very respectable damage to entire combats, and with Payback and Motivate you can theoretically use Final Strike multiple times back to back, clearing groups, then using Payback to nuke people once they get low. Pair that with food healing %HP, camps healing %missing HP (which is vastly worse, but better on the Bandit than any other class so far) and Bandits naturally having high HP values, you could get some solid mileage out of them, and if you lose one to a mortal wound you just get the souls out of them for upgrades. It's kinda cool how you can run one as a support or groups of them for pillaging. As a side note, it seems you only get Guru upgrades for skills you have available, so each upgrade is technically buffing your entire group instead of 1-2 units if you go Mono-Bandit.
Hooray, new video! Sucks that the game is so long, hopefully we can keep up the activity long enough that you get to finish it Don't want another Last Spell happening here
I had so much trouble with Skeleton Princess. She TPKd me. No idea how it was so easy for you, with me she always summoned skeleton and skele steward and the steward summoned two more. And it reapeated almost every other turn! o.o
Awww, I'd be a pity not to finish, but I totally understand that if it's an extremely long game it might not be feasible. But I am very much enjoying and have watched every episode.
I love to see the game for sure, beautifully crafted, could be a bit more balanced, when comes what and in what amount, to keep the customer on the edge of their seat, but otherwise no complaints! If I experience the game with you, Retro, or somewhere else is up to you : )
Keep it going! Also - if you are dropping rattle, do you really need wakey wakey / the raider? And have you considered a bleed centric build? I bought the game based on this series and have had a lot of success with the slicing dagger/pick wounds combo with multiple raiders
Hi, I'm not sure bout this but can't you also focus on directly getting more strength/ HP /inherent shielding when breeding goblins? There are differences in these stats too
I am no longer thinking Retro has terrible luck. I think game randomness is stacked against the player. If he has 40%-60% chance of something, it will never happen. But if the game has 10% - 20% to damage Retro. It is going to happen
I'm going to be here for any future video you put out in this series. But I understand that since the series has been going on for some time now, interest is dropping off, especially now when the game has launched. It's a shame that there isn't some magic money tree you can pluck from and be free to play whatever the heck you want. :) I'll be sad to see this series go, but I completely understand if you have to move on soon.
I have unlocked the bandits and he feels very disappointing class, seems have pretty no purpose and needing lot of setup to work barelly good. It's just me or he is really poor designed?
Notice all his abilities scale with power. By investing three hits of corrupted shrine buffs, and upgrading his weapon once or twice where possible at the blacksmith, my bandit rips through enemies with his AOE fury swipes, or with single target damage, can two-shot certain bosses. He slaughtered the wizard boss from the Fellowhood Adventurers trio before it got an attack off. Even if you lose a goblin or two on the gamble, successfully completing two or three corrupted shrine power buffs on a goblin has a high chance to succeed.
@@chrisosborn6401 the thing that disappoint me the most is this, his ability scale on power but there is no way to build a serous amount of it, guild buff just give him ton of HP.... Is a bit like raider having lots of bleeding ability that scale on power but he build critical and dot can't critical hit.
I really want to like this game but it just seems like it was 80% baked and not ready for 1.0. I think you should move on to greener pastures and revisit when its been patched up a bit.
These enemies ignoring player abilities is pretty sus. Not a fan of getting XCOMed with questionable percentages, missing mechanics (sneaking), and mobs doing things outside the logic of the rest of the game's stated/displayed rules.

You are stuck with the same exact basic skill from day one, can't upgrade anything, skill/weapon/enchantments.. really no incentive to keep going on.

Guard not working, not able to reroll skills per battle, purify not cleansing old man frustration - all bugs or features? You decide.
